14 The Faceless Man (11)
There are two elements that determine the "strength" of a psychic, namely "strength of psychic energy" and "strength of image".
The former is easy to understand, so there is no need to say much.
The latter is mainly explained here.
When psychics activate their psionic energy, they must cooperate with "image".
The so-called image can be simply and roughly understood as an image that emerges in consciousness after a person imagines a certain concept. If a psychic imagines flames in his mind while activates his own psychic energy, then flames will appear; on the contrary, if he imagines the image of "flame disappearing" of the flames that have appeared and activates spiritual energy at the same time, then the flame in front of him will disappear.
And so on: If the psychic imagines wind or electricity, gravity or repulsion, decomposition or reorganization... then these phenomena will appear in reality.
In other words, what the psychics truly possess is the power of "tampering with reality with psychic energy."
It sounds quite powerful, but if I really want to do something as powerful as literally, it will naturally be difficult, otherwise I would not be able to defeat the psychic by virtue of my body.
The requirements of psychic energy for images are both special and in-depth.
"Special" means: since the human soul is an abstract nature, and the power of the soul is also an abstract nature, the image generated by the psychic when driving the psychic energy must also be abstract rather than figurative. In other words, if the psychic wants to use the psychic energy to form a flame but thinks of the graphic flame in his mind, then no matter how clear the image is, it has no effect. Only by imagining the abstract flame can we initially achieve the conditions for "psychic response image".
"Deep" means: it is not enough to just imagine abstract flames casually. This image must be concentrated and strong enough that the spirit will be like a picky diner and finally admit it.
The image that psychics are most likely to achieve is to strengthen the functions that they have in their human body, such as the strength of their limbs, the strength of their bodies, the sensitivity of their senses, etc. The "manipulation of flames" mentioned earlier is because the human body does not have, so it must go through a long time of training, and in addition to having this part of the talent, you have the opportunity to master it.
Sometimes, psychics who are very different from ordinary people in spirit are more likely to describe some abstract concepts in their minds. The reason why Hasegawa has had some more abilities at this time is probably because he is crazy.
The same is true for the sheepskin killer. The type of fake psychic who has not been mastering psychic energy for a long time should have been unable to quickly learn psychic armor and feinting techniques, but perhaps the crazy mind has helped him to learn psychic armor easily. As for feinting techniques, looking back, perhaps it was the mysterious organization tailored it based on his crazy symptoms, otherwise it would not have taught him the kind of spell that seemed to be drilling wood to make fire in a modern kitchen.
However, a crazy mind is naturally not only beneficial to the psychic.
It’s better to say that the disadvantages are even greater and irreversible.

"Facialless man, if you want to do it, it's better hurry up." Adam stared at Hasegawa tightly, "Otherwise, he might become a monster over time."
"Of course I understand." I responded while observing Hasegawa's dynamics.
If a psychic loses the awareness of "self is human" in some cases, or actively imagines that he is not human, then the psychic may respond to this image and turn the psychic into a real monster.
Therefore, the more crazy the psychic, the stronger the more likely it is to lose control.
At this moment, a commotion came from the corridor, and it seemed that someone had heard the movement here and came to see the fun.
Two seconds later, a man who seemed to be a male nurse walked into the ward and said at the top of his voice: "What are you doing here? Do you know this is..." He suddenly swept to Hasegawa, who had a crazy face, and like a primary school student suddenly saw his head teacher while having sex, his voice suddenly lowered, "Hospital..."
Hasegawa suddenly fell on all sides, like a real beast, rushing towards the male nurse as fast as lightning.
But, my movements are a step faster.
I took the lead in stepping on the floor and intercepted the two of them.
Hasegawa's face changed, as if a fast tennis ball hit an invisible wall, his body retreated instantly, returned to his original position, and then looked at me with great fear.
Suddenly, his eyes turned blue, like a pair of pure sapphires, and emitting a slight light. I could see that this was him temporarily using his psychic energy to strengthen inspiration. Most psychics can only use their psychic energy to strengthen the five senses at most. Strengthening inspiration is a ability that only psychic mediums have. He is now divining the actions I will have in the next few seconds, trying to find out where my flaws are.
This is also the difficulty of the medium. I have fought with the medium in the past. Such enemies can always predict my movements incredibly, avoid my killing attacks like loaches, and grasp my fleeting flaws like cunning snakes.
The male nurse fell to the ground in fear, as if asking me, and as if asking myself, "What's wrong with this... Is he a psychic? Why are there psychic patients in the hospital... and they look crazy..."
Psychics usually do not get sick. Even if they are sick, they don’t have to see a doctor, and they will be cured by themselves. It is not difficult to understand his doubts.
But Adam, and Hasegawa, and I, ignored the doctor's words.
I didn't take the lead in attacking Hasegawa, so as not to expose more flaws when attacking. The direction of the battle at this moment depends on how Hasegawa will take action next.
I don't know how many futures Hasegawa has seen and what scenes each future is. He seems to be calculating what is high-speed. However, this calculation is not like a human being when thinking rationally, but more like a cheetah with vertical pupils lurking in the grass, calculating patiently when to pounce on the deer as prey and what posture to use to bite the deer's throat. He is now full of this animalistic coldness.
Suddenly, he closed his eyes, as if he was in a firm heart.
He had undoubtedly calculated my flaw. I tightened my muscles and prepared to face his attack.
However, the next second, he did not attack me of any flaws, but suddenly turned his body, like a frog that was good at bounce, leaping towards the window.
A sudden explosion sounded, and he broke through the window glass and landed on the ground from the height of the third floor.
I immediately rushed to the windowsill and looked down, but I could only see the frightened crowd downstairs, and I couldn't see the escaped Hasegawa.
I had to turn over and jump over the windowsill and jump to the ground below. As long as I master the buffering posture when landing, this height is still very relaxing for me. It is said that some "building jumpers" have recorded that they jumped from a place far higher than me at this time, but escaped without any loss. But when I landed, I looked around and couldn't find any trace of Hasegawa. It seemed that his body evaporated in the air during the landing process.
But after a while, Adam ran out of the main entrance of the hospitalization department.
As soon as she saw me standing here, she understood the ending and sighed.
"I'm sorry, let him run away." Now that things have come to this, I have to admit my failure.
It is certainly embarrassing to admit failure, and even it feels hot to say it.
But not even admitting failure will only make yourself more embarrassing.
"It's not your fault." She shook her head, "We were all deceived by his crazy performance. He was probably not calculating himself "how to defeat you", but calculating himself "how to escape from you". He must know that he could not divine the future of defeating you, even if he became stronger than before, there would be no difference. Since he had completed the calculation just now, it means that he had found a route that he could escape."
"Even so, it's still my fault." I said, "The clues of the sheepskin killer were taken away in my hands; Hasegawa's madness was also the main cause of me. Although I proposed to join you and assist in investigating the mysterious organization, I did it all in the end."
"Who could have expected things to develop like this?" She didn't look negative at all, but instead joked about me, "So, you're really a bit like an undercover agent who has entered our team by a mysterious organization."
I was stunned for a moment and then said, "Hassegawa's suspicion of me is not groundless. Don't you doubt me?"
"I believe there is no real accident in this world, but I believe more in the conclusions I came to think about later." She said, "So, I believe you are a partner."
Although I don’t know whether she was talking on the table or the truth, if it was the latter, it would be really complicated.
Let's just pretend that she is telling the truth so that she can feel a little more comfortable.
I let out a long breath full of complicated thoughts and said, "Thank you."
"It is natural for partners to trust each other, why thank you?" She showed a clean smile and then thought, "With that being said, it's time to carefully calculate the future plans."
"Do you have any tricks?" I asked.
"This is not the case. We can only start over from the stage of collecting intelligence." She put on a helpless posture.
"Since that's the case, can you help me?"
"Tell me, see if I can."
At this time, a shout came from the first floor of the inpatient department. Several staff members were rushing over here, as if they were going to ask us what was going on just now.
I glanced there and then turned around and asked, "Can you drive?"
"Yes." She also just took back her gaze.
"That's good."
"What do you want me to help you?"
"I need you to help me with some materials," I said, "and I plan to go to that street to do a simple finishing work for the residual effects of killing the sheepskin killer."
*
There were quite a lot of materials needed for the finishing work. In order to carry these materials, Adam simply drove a truck.
She sat in the driver's seat, and I sat in the passenger's seat. The two of them walked along the road to the street that was rarely visited by the lightning sunset.
"Although I really want to let you play, and I don't ask for anything, shutting up as if I were asking others not to spoil it when watching a movie, but..." Adam looked curious while holding the steering wheel. "I really can't help but want to ask, how are you going to solve those terrible 'residual effects'?"
"Decorate a simple ceremony to isolate the space and confine the leaked influence in a small space." I said, "You can understand that there is a very smelly piece of material there..."
Adam said, "When you use a unit of measurement like 'tuo', I already know what you want to say, and you don't have to change it to a more considerate word like 'matter'."
I turned a deaf ear and continued, "I want to make an airtight lid to seal the smell of the substance leaking so as not to appear in the surrounding area again with a sensitive 'smell' like Hasegawa', and I will be fumigated for several kilometers."
"I understand, but you can still arrange the ceremony?" she asked.
“I always do it.”
"But I've never heard of it."
"Because I rarely arrange rituals on site. There is no need to solve things that can be solved directly with fists. Besides, the enemy will not give me the opportunity to arrange rituals on site." I said, "Although sometimes I will arrange rituals in advance or prepare some small props with ritual effects, I had a partner in charge of support at that time, and everyone thought it was him providing ritual support for me."
She asked tentatively: "Is that partner..."
"Have you eaten?" I quickly switched to a topic.
"No." She answered honestly.
"It just so happens that I don't have it either. So let's find a place to have a meal together." I made a suggestion.
She nodded.
After a while, we arrived at the street five hundred meters away from the small street and entered an ordinary small restaurant.
The hotel took photos of all the dishes and posted them on a wall for customers to choose from.
I found a seat to sit down. She ran to the wall with the photo. A man who looked like the boss's wife walked to her and asked "several people" first, and she said "two people".
While talking, I chose dishes.
Suddenly, my phone vibrated.
When I opened it, I saw that the drone sent me a text message saying that I had sent all the "information of Adam's true identity" I had collected before to my email address and asked me to check it.
I looked up at Adam who knew nothing about this, then logged in to the email address with my mobile phone and checked her true intelligence.
