13 The Faceless Man (10)(1/2)

"Why?" Hasegawa asked hurriedly.

"The faceless man just now really persuaded us to give up his actions as you said. This really scared me, but I still can't adopt your suspicion." Adam's rational voice reminded me of the wooden comb that was straightening out his long hair, which made people unconsciously feel at ease. "First of all, if the faceless man is really an enemy, then last time he should have destroyed us all while he met, and he also has this ability. Do you admit this?"

"I don't admit it. He can indeed kill me, but you have the 'proof of differentiation' and will not be killed easily, and the mysterious organization should also know this. The faceless man may think that he can't catch us all in one place, so he temporarily gave up the option of 'hands-on't'." Hasegawa said.

"You underestimate the Faceless Man too much. At the distance at that time, even if I had the 'critical evidence of differentiation', I could only let him use one more punch or one kick." Adam said, "Secondly, you shouldn't have been in the black zone? Maybe in your opinion, the Faceless Man is the same type of person as other Black Zone residents, but in fact, the Faceless Man only killed psychic criminals back then. When he was most active, the psychic crime rate in Beaver City even showed a significant downward trend. Such people will not assist the mysterious organization's human experiment plan."

"The faceless man has such a past?" Hasegawa stayed for a while, "but even a person with justice is the opportunity to realize his long-cherished wish, he might not."

"Finally," Adam interrupted him, "I don't believe that the mysterious organization can develop drugs that transform ordinary people into psychics."

"So how do you explain the sheepskin killer?" Hasegawa asked back.

"The sheepskin killer is not qualified to call himself a psychic. In the final analysis, he is just an ordinary person with psychic power. If I sacrifice his soul to the demon, the demon will not admit that his soul has the value of the psychic power level." Adam said, "I don't know why you believe that the mysterious organization has the ability to develop a 'safe psionic awakening medicine', and I don't know what information you are holding in your hands. However, I would not believe that a so-called 'mysterious organization' that is so naughty that even the clues of material mobilization can be so far."

"..." Hasegawa was speechless for a moment.

"To this day, technology has been developed, and it is no longer a few small laboratories, and a few down-and-out scientists can promote the times. No matter how talented it is, it is impossible. And the "fairy tale" developed by underground organizations can only be a story after all. Especially the "safe psionic awakening medicine", which must be a high-end and sophisticated field that alliance forces or other major forces are qualified to explore." Adam said in a final tone, "Reality is not a fictional story. Organizations based on conspiracy can only be destroyed at best; and if you want to become a real behemoth, you must stand in the place where the sun is most abundant, welcome all malice or kind-hearted eyes, and stand firmly, in order to achieve something and create something."

At the end, she added, "Besides, if the faceless person wants to deceive us, it is not enough to tell a lie that is neither evidence of being able to show off and lacks persuasiveness."

Hasegawa had already realized as deeply as a screw that knocked into a wooden board that it was impossible for him to convince Adam.

But he was a little unwilling to give up, "But the sheepskin killer is already our only remaining clue. Can't we really let go?"

Adam hugged his arms, silently fell into thinking, and his fingers hit his arms regularly.

Hasegawa persuaded: "It would be better, I don't need divination or spiritual communication, but let's go and investigate?"

"If you don't need divination and psychics, it's useless for you to follow. Let me investigate alone." Adam made the decision, and then knocked on the car window next to him, "Let me down first, drive back by yourself."

In fact, the car's location is about five kilometers away from the small street where the sheepskin killer died, but she didn't want Hasegawa to send her to the vicinity of that place, so as not to Hasegawa seize the approximate location and investigate it later.

Hasegawa could not refute, so he could only park the car and let Adam go.

Before Adam could go far, Hasegawa found a parking space, got out of the car himself, and followed quickly like a puppy, saying, "I'd better follow too, otherwise the mysterious organization will suddenly dispatch several enemies to attack you, and it will be difficult for you to escape."

"Okay." Adam was also worried about this, "but you must keep a distance of five hundred meters from me, and never get close to my investigation. In the event of a fight, you cannot take the initiative to approach me, I will try to get close to your side."

"I understand." Hasegawa could only accept it.

Adam turned around and headed towards his destination, step by step closer.

Unexpectedly, I didn't have many steps...

She suddenly heard behind her that a cloth bag that seemed to be full of things fell to the ground.

Looking back, Hasegawa fell to the ground, his back against the ground, his eyes widened, his mouth widened, and he breathed desperately, but he didn't suck in a trace of air. Instead, he seemed to be in a cold and sticky mud, and his throat was tightly blocked by the "mud" that could not be seen by the naked eye.

He stretched out his palm into the sky, grasping the air weakly, and his eyes gradually dissipated.

"What's wrong with you!" Adam was shocked and rushed over.

Hasegawa suddenly stood up and hit the ground with the back of his head, as if he wanted to create an emergency impact so that he could get rid of the "illusion".

Immediately afterwards, he could suddenly breathe.

He took a deep breath, but he did not get rid of the "illusion", but instead became even more frightened.

He looked in the sky and seemed to see something extremely terrifying. It was like a person reading a book. Suddenly he saw an ant passing by the desk, and he stretched out his finger to press it. But a second before pressing the ant, he suddenly realized that he had become an ant. Then he saw that he had inexplicably darkened around him, raised his head and witnessed a finger like a pillar of heaven pressing down.

He let out a tragic howl.

Adam shouted, "Hassegawa!"

“…”

Hasegawa's eyes were covered with blood. He turned his head suddenly and glanced at Adam frantically, like a beast forced to death, preparing to attack everyone close to him.

But, there was no time to do anything.

The next second, his fear seemed to have finally surpassed his limit.

He fainted.

*

Adam's statement ended.

After listening to it, some problems arose in my mind, and then I picked the most important one, "That is to say, you were five kilometers away from that small street at that time."

"To be correct, it is five and a half kilometers." She corrected.

"But Hasegawa went crazy there," I said, "Can I understand it: this incident has nothing to do with me. You were actually attacked by a mysterious organization at that time. Is that true?"

"I was so suspicious at the time, but that was definitely not an attack, otherwise there would be an assassin from the mysterious organization to take out the opportunity to take our lives." She smiled habitually, but she probably was also full of her mind, with a puzzling smell in her smile. "On the way to bring Hasegawa to the hospital, I have summarized two possibilities for this incomprehensible development."

"you say."

"The first possibility: Hasegawa, as a psychic, is prone to seeing strange things that ordinary people cannot see, but his luck today is too bad. He happened to see something he shouldn't see and passed by Beaver City and then fell into a coma."

"This is not considered for now. What about the second one?"

"The second possibility: the 'special means' you used to the sheepskin killer had too strong residual impact, which made Hasegawa, who was five and a half kilometers away from the scene passively receive some information, and then he went crazy."

Speaking of this, she also seemed to think that such a thing was too outrageous.

But as far as I am concerned, I can only accept this explanation. The first possibility is too accidental, while the second possibility is at least somewhat logical.

In the blood sacrifice ceremony, even the "different universe man" who was so slow that I was immune to all mental attacks, was almost dragged into the abstract universe; and if it were a psychic like Hasegawa, who was extremely keen inspiration, and it was not impossible to be hit five and a half kilometers away from the scene.

This really cannot be blamed for Hasegawa for being too reckless. He also said that he would not need to divine or communicate with the psychics, and agreed to maintain the conditions of 500 meters with the scene. Who could have expected that the residual influence of the blood sacrifice ceremony was so strong.

It seems that I must go to that small street again in the future and do a post-care treatment for this "residual impact".

Otherwise, it might also affect ordinary people.

"So, what is the 'criterion of differentiation' you mentioned before?" I asked again.

"It is the name of a psychic object. Its function is to create an energy clone and be able to exchange the position of the clone with the clone." Adam said, taking out a bare black metal card from his pocket without words or patterns. "Although the clone does not have attack power, it can penetrate matter and move at a speed similar to the main body."

"Can this be used by ordinary people?" I asked.

"It can be used. And it is better for ordinary people to use it. Because when switching positions, the stronger the psychic energy of the body, the greater the consumption of the exchange." She explained, "I, an ordinary person, can use it casually, but if I were a psychic like Hasegawa, I would probably use it once or twice, and this item would be "out of power."

"Can you sell it?" I was very moved. If I had one of this kind of psychic items, it would undoubtedly be extremely helpful to the battle.

I used to have psychic items, but they were all damaged in the battle a year ago.

"No, I still have to use it to save my life." She shook her head and refused, and then asked, "You probably won't rob me, right?"

"I won't snatch collaborators' items," I said.

"You promise?"

"I promise."

She changed her subject, "If I were the enemy, would you steal it?"

"That's more to say."

"It seems that I must be careful in the future and not let myself become your enemy." She said with a smile.

Suddenly, a commotion sound came from the ward.

She smiled and looked at me, then rushed into the ward together.

I saw Hasegawa sank on the ground in pain, as if the fish in the lake were thrown to the land, struggling with great difficulty, then tremblingly raised his hands, finally supporting his body, but he began to hit the floor with all his strength, and even his forehead was covered with blood.

If this continues, no matter whether he can regain his sanity by slamming or not, the possibility of him hitting himself into an idiot first is obviously higher.

Adam took a pillow from the bed, threw it under Hasegawa's forehead, and then shouted loudly, trying to recall his sanity, "Hassegawa! Wake up quickly! Have you forgotten your sister?"

Hasegawa stopped and seemed to mutter "sister" in a puzzled tone.

"Yes, sister." Adam said temptingly, "Your sister is in the hands of a mysterious organization and will be transported to the laboratory bench at any time and become a victim of human experiments. How can you stagnate in such a place?"

Hasegawa stared at Adam for three seconds, then showed a sarcastic smile, as if mocking someone who knew nothing but was only immersed in the world of hallucinations.

Having said that, sarcasm is at least based on emotions based on thinking, a sign of the return of reason. But the next second, he lost even this intermittent reason, his face was occupied by madness, and his whole body seemed to be a big cat who was rushing towards Adam.

However, no matter how crazy a person is, there must be traces of muscle movement.

Therefore, I could see his intention to attack at a glance, and blocked Adam first, then raised his right leg and kicked him hard.

The kick was like a spear's full force thrust, and it attacked his torso where the empty door was wide open without any suspense.

However, the light of the psychic armor appeared where my right foot came into contact with his torso. This way of appearance seemed to be a phenomenon that only when a person pressed the LCD screen with his fingers. The brilliance appeared blue, which was the most common psychic color.

This armor is completely different from the half-baked armor of the Sheepskin Killer, and is the armor of the real psychic.

However, now I am completely different from myself when I was fighting with the Sheepskin Killer.

Because my left foot has recovered.

For martial artists, feet are crucial. As the saying goes, "force starts from the ground." If a person's feet are off the ground, it means that there is no support and nowhere to force his strength; and if one foot cannot be used, it is equivalent to losing half of the support and the center of gravity is difficult to change, which is a heavy blow to both strength and skills.

At this moment, I retrieved all the "hardware" I lost at the beginning, and combined with the combat experience with the sheepskin killer, I also found most of the feel. There was no need to carefully test the texture of the psychic armor, and the first strike was enough to allow most of the power to pass through.

So, my kicking force penetrated Hasegawa's psychic armor, and his skin, fat, and muscles, directly attacking his unprevented internal organs.

He flew backwards like a ball, hitting the wall of the ward hard, and staying on the wall like a painting for a second or two before he fell to the ground and struggled uglyly.

"Is he okay?" Adam breathed a sigh of relief.
