Chapter 2 Getting Along

"Seventeenth Young Master." A young servant in coarse cloth walked into the small house carrying a food box and shouted in front of the house door.

Wei Fufeng responded from inside the room, got up, walked to the door, opened it, stretched out his hand to take the food box, and said, "Go ahead."

The servant nodded and turned away. Wei Fufeng stepped back and put down the food box. He closed the door and walked to the table with the food box. He put down the food box and opened it. He took out a large bowl of gruel and a plate of vegetarian dishes and placed them on the table.

"Sister, come and eat." Wei Fufeng greeted softly.

The woman in green clothes got out of bed silently, walked to the table and sat down, stretched out her slender hands to take the chopsticks and carry the bowl, and silently drank porridge and vegetables.

Wei Fufeng sat on the left side of the table corner, looking at the door calmly.

"You can eat." The woman in green clothes put down the porridge bowl and whispered.

"As promised, each person will eat half. If sister doesn't eat, I will throw away the extra." Wei Fufeng turned to look at the woman in green clothes and whispered calmly.

"A bowl of porridge can only satisfy your hunger. I'll just eat some." The woman in green clothes whispered.

"Half a bowl of porridge is enough to satisfy your hunger. If sister is weak, I'm afraid she won't be able to cope with the situation." Wei Fufeng whispered.

The woman in green clothes was silent and took the bowl to eat again. After a while, she put it down and pushed it to Wei Fufeng.

Wei Fufeng silently carried the bowl of food and vegetables, and quickly finished the half bowl of porridge.

After putting down the bowl, the lady in green clothes stood up and put the dishes into the food box. Wei Fufeng took the food box and put it outside the door, where a servant would come and take it away.

After closing the door and returning to the table, the woman in green clothes had already taken a dagger and began to teach Wei Fufeng the art of close combat with weapons.

Wei Fufeng studied hard, and the sheathed dagger flexibly changed in his hand, holding it upside down to draw, or holding it backward to stab, and his body moved lightly.

The woman in green gave instructions in a soft voice, and actually fought with Wei Fufeng. The two of them moved silently around the room, their movements like two butterflies spreading their wings and dancing.

Professor Ichiban gave up when they felt tired and sat down at the table to rest together.

After sitting down, the woman in green clothes whispered: "Fufeng, you should have a foundation in martial arts."

"Four years ago, I learned martial arts from a disabled veteran and practiced horse rifle skills." Wei Fufeng replied.

"No wonder your steps are nimble and agile. As a man, you should major in martial arts." The woman in green clothes whispered.

"Generals are prone to death, and I don't want the army to charge into battle." Wei Fufeng whispered.

The beautiful woman in green clothes was slightly stunned, and Wei Fufeng continued: "Although I don't like this world, since I live in this world, I still want to live well."

The woman in green clothes nodded and whispered: "What you think is in line with heaven."

"The way of heaven? The way of heaven is unfair to me." Wei Fufeng shook his head lightly in response.

"It's unfair to you? Why?" The woman in green clothes asked curiously. From the beginning, she felt that this young man was different from ordinary people.

"I would rather be a peace dog than a chaotic person. As the prime minister's grandnephew, I would have been extremely happy in the prosperous age of the Tang Dynasty. But in this troubled time, I can

It’s hard to even get enough to eat,” Wei Fufeng said bitterly.

The woman in green clothes nodded and whispered sadly: "The world is not good. You can see random people everywhere."

Wei Fufeng looked at the woman in green clothes. The woman in green clothes had a very beautiful appearance. She had an oval face, arched eyebrows and a small mouth, and her skin was as fair as jade. Under her melancholy expression, her temperament was elegant and clear.

Wei Fufeng quickly looked away, but he was worried about upsetting the woman in green clothes.

Underneath his calm appearance, he was actually worried about the existence of the woman in blue. How could he be fearless when he met an assassin unexpectedly?

"Is there any way you can send me away?" the woman in green asked softly.

"Not for the time being. The city will not be able to return to normal until the new governor arrives." Wei Fufeng replied.

"Why?" The woman in green clothes asked in confusion.

"When the new governor comes, the soldiers will protect the new governor first. When the new governor comes, he will not pursue the murderer of his predecessor, but will reorganize the military and replace the main officials." Wei Fufeng explained.

The woman in green clothes nodded in understanding and asked, "Will your grandfather be ostracized?"

"No, my grandfather was a long-term official of the imperial court. His position in Shangzhou can only be a false position without power. Only officials appointed by Jiedushi have local power." Wei Fufeng replied.

The woman in green clothes nodded silently, and Wei Fufeng asked again: "My sister has taken revenge, where will she go after leaving Shangzhou?"

"I am the female crown of Xuanmen. I am leaving to go back to the Taoist temple." The woman in green clothes replied softly.

Wei Fufeng was a little surprised when he heard this. He didn't expect that the woman in green clothes was a Taoist priest. He thought silently, and after a while he whispered: "Sister, can you help me with something?"

"You said?" the woman in green clothes responded.

"I want to go to Chengdu, Xichuan. Can sister escort me?" Wei Fufeng whispered.

"Chengdu? I heard that Prime Minister Wei led his troops to fight against rebellion in Chengdu." The woman in green clothes whispered.

Wei Fufeng nodded and said: "Yes, my great-uncle has been on an expedition to Xichuan for nearly three years. I want to go and visit him. If possible, I also want to get a position in the army."

"The war in Xichuan is devastating. You said you didn't want to charge into battle, so why go there? If you join the army, you will inevitably have to fight." The woman in green retorted softly.

"I am sixteen years old and a concubine. If I stay in Shangzhou, I will easily be drafted into the army. I heard that the war between Huainan Road and Henan Road is fierce and will spread to Shangzhou sooner or later. I might as well go and serve in my uncle's army." Wei.

Fufeng explained.

The woman in green clothes nodded, thought for a moment, nodded and said: "I will escort you, but in troubled times, there are many dangers, and I may not be able to protect you completely."

"Staying here is waiting for death. Going out is a step towards independence." Wei Fufeng responded calmly.

...

Wei Fufeng was carrying a book case behind him. A book case is a book box that can shade the head from the sun. It is a common item when traveling and is equivalent to a travel bag.

Wei Fufeng was walking on the street in the city. There were many people on the street. Many refugees from outside stayed in groups. The refugees came from Huainan Road.

(This chapter is not finished, please turn the page)

He had to leave his hometown to escape the scourge of war.

The surge in refugees has made food more scarce in Shangluo County. In addition, the concentration of refugees has also brought about terrible signs of epidemics.

Wei Fufeng had long thought that he should leave, but his original idea was to go to Chang'an City.

Along the way, he carefully avoided contact with the refugees, arrived at Chongyifang in Xicheng District, and found a dilapidated house directly.

When I walked in, I saw a strong young man playing with a wooden stick.

"Young Master." When the young man saw Wei Fufeng, he greeted him respectfully.

Wei Fufeng smiled and nodded, "Is Lao Feng here?"

"Master is here." The young man replied respectfully.

"The young master is here." A male voice came, and a man with messy beard and hair walked out of the main room.

The man's right arm was on crutches, but one of his right legs was broken at the knee.

"Old Feng, I'm here to say goodbye to you." Wei Fufeng directly stated his intention.

"Oh, Young Master is going to Chang'an?" the man responded calmly.

"No, I want to go to Chengdu." Wei Fufeng replied.

"Chengdu? Young Master shouldn't go there, it's not suitable to go there." The man retorted bluntly.

"It's better to go to Chengdu and join the army than to go to Chang'an and live under someone else's roof." Wei Fufeng explained.

The man shook his head lightly and said, "I once said that your great-uncle does not know how to make meritorious deeds, so it would be unwise for you to go to Chengdu."

"It's unwise to sit back and watch, I've decided." Wei Fufeng said.

The man nodded, and Wei Fufeng said again: "Old Feng, I want to hide the moon-shooting crossbow in the bookcase."

The man nodded and turned around. Wei Fufeng walked over and followed the man into the main room.

Entering the main room, Wei Fufeng walked without stopping and moved a wooden box. There was a pit under the wooden box, and he took out a crossbow from the pit.

The crossbow is not big, the bow is only one foot, which is half smaller than the crossbows in the army.

Wei Fufeng looked at the crossbow in his hand with fondness in his eyes. This was a weapon that he had kept secretly for two years.

The self-release book case is put down and opened. The book case is specially made and has an interlayer.

Wei Fufeng put the crossbow into the mezzanine, took out twelve crossbow arrows from the pit, put them in, and then moved the wooden box back to cover the pit.

Putting the bookcase on his back, Wei Fufeng turned to face the man and said gently: "Old Feng, thank you for your years of teaching."

"There is no need for you and me to say thank you. I am able to survive because of the gift of the young master." Lao Feng responded calmly.

Wei Fufeng smiled and whispered: "If I leave, I may not come back."

"If you don't mind my burden, I would like to go with you," Old Feng said calmly.

Wei Fufeng looked at Old Feng and whispered: "I want you to go, but I don't want to drag you into danger."

"Young Master is not afraid of death, and I should be even more fearless if I am disabled. If I don't follow Young Master, I will starve to death in Shangluo." Old Feng replied calmly.

Wei Fufeng thought for a moment, nodded and said, "Let's go."
