The iron ore found in Panzhihua after the founding of the People's Republic of China was relatively complicated, so when the domestic iron ore was not rich, the country began to build Baosteel.

The factory site was also set up in Puhai. To be honest, Puhai’s geographical location and surrounding environment are really not suitable for the development of heavy industry. However, due to the cost of importing large amounts of iron ore from overseas, the domestic steel plant was set up in Puhai.

In addition, a series of leaders from Puhai who came from later became the national leader. For parochial reasons, they had many policy preferences for Puhai in those years, so Puhai's Baosteel also developed in full swing that year.

But when it comes to Baosteel's real development, it is also related to the old man who likes to draw circles in the south. It was when he visited Japan and asked the Japanese New Nippon Railway. The New Nippon Railway sent people to help Baosteel implement a series of modernization reforms. Of course, it also provided some technical support.

It is precisely this part of the technical support, coupled with the later national policy support, that Baosteel, a rising star in the domestic steel field, has become the throne of the big brother in the domestic steel industry in just over a decade.

The two factories, Ansteel and Baosteel, are most famous not only because of their output, but also because of their ability to smel special steel.

Baosteel's special steel field is because the Japanese transfer technology. I won't mention it.

Just talking about Angang, after the founding of the People's Republic of China, when Northern Province was a national heavy industrial base, the factory was glorious for a long time, and even until the reform and opening up period, the factory was a nationally famous iron boss.

Many of the two reds took the approval note from their leaders, took away the steel materials from here at a cost price or even at a price lower than the cost price, and then made a big profit when they were transported to the south.

But they made a fortune, and while the South was profitable, they made Angang lose money. Who can bear to lose money like this?

But there was no way. At that time, it was planned economy, and the leaders had the final say in how to operate it, so everyone was unhappy and could only endure it.

Later, with reform and opening up, the southern economy rose. Especially with the support of domestic policies, Baosteel rose rapidly and Ansteel quickly declined.

Back then, I was working for nothing, but now my resources are almost empty and there is no national policy support. Angang almost went bankrupt in just a few years.

Fortunately, there is also a North Sea Fleet base and the North Sea Fleet in the North Province, so Angang has established a relationship with the navy and began to specialize in the production of special military steel. It also specially introduced some technology to Thyssenkrupp in Germany.

Only then did he barely recover from the military's orders. However, twenty years later, the position of the Iron Boss had changed. In this industry, Baosteel, a rising star, undoubtedly became the boss in China, while Ansteel became the younger brother.

However, in the special steel market, these two companies are still in par with each other. To be honest, Ansteel’s special steel smelting ability is still stronger than Baosteel.

Baosteel got some technical support from the Japanese, but that was all the Japanese technology in the 1970s. Although it was at the forefront of the country at that time, Baosteel's people were also unprofitable and had not conducted in-depth research and development of the technology at all, so their special steel was still at that stage.

Although Angang has been stuck a lot by Krupp when introducing technology from Germany, the Germans' technology is still slightly better than that of the Japanese, so the special steel they produce in China is still very well-known.

However, before, their special steel products were generally exclusively for the army, and rarely were supplied like the private market, so not many people knew about them.

Minister Wang came to Bei Province this time specifically for Angang. He went to Baosteel for an inspection before, but the results of the inspection disappointed him. Baosteel is now an enterprise that wins by quantity and is supported by national policies.

In terms of his unique technology, he still relies on introducing foreign technology, and his research and development is simply blank, which disappointed him very much.

So he came to the north, but the results he got after visiting Angang were disappointed.

The introduction of high-speed rail projects is a long-term project and cannot be achieved overnight. This is a plan he has formulated long ago. But if the train reaches this speed, the wheels and bearings used on ordinary trains now will not be enough.

He also conducted special investigations. In the past, France was the first to create a special steel that could withstand such strength. Later, the Germans also created it, and later it was Japan.

And to the present, the best one in this thing is the Japanese who came from behind. Their New Nippon Railway specializes in supporting wheels and bearings for Shinkansen.

To outsiders, these wheels and bearings are the same as ordinary train wheel bearings. They are just ductile iron, but their strength and lifespan are more than several times higher than your ordinary ductile iron.

Back then, we also introduced a set of Swedish swing trains to do research. The wheels on that set of trains were provided by Switzerland.

During this period, he has been studying this wheel and has specially consulted academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences to help with the research.

He also compared the best ductile iron samples from Baosteel and Ansteel, which disappointed him.

Baosteel's best ductile iron, a 2.5 cm thick sample, was placed in a microscope of 100 times and 400 times in the national standard for testing. The crystal structure of the cast iron seen was half the size of a large red date.

Angang Steel has better results, but the same sample and the same microscope are seen, and the crystal structure of cast iron is about the size of peanuts.

Let’s look at the wheel products that came to Switzerland. The same standard is that the crystal structure of cast iron seen under the microscope is just the size of a sesame seed.

This shows the gap immediately. No wonder the strength and life of the wheels and bearings made of ductile iron are better than us in all aspects.

And we do have a huge gap with others!
