dpin already has its own 4at technology. Around 2003, 4at was still the mainstream configuration of automatic transmission models in China, and some high-end models only use 5at.
Moreover, many of the 4at transmission technologies have passed the patent protection period. We cannot produce them in China now, because they are not qualified in three aspects.
On the one hand, it is materials, on the other hand, it is processing, and on the other hand, it is TCU, that is, data accumulation of automatic transmissions.
But these are not problems for him, and materials are difficult. He now has a special metal smelting company, so some high-temperature and wear-resistant metals required in the automatic transmission are not problems for him.
He was not worried about processing. In the past, we were not as good as the precision of the machine tool, so we were not able to handle durable high-precision automatic speed change. But now, after he went to Japan and got on the line with Kobayashi, it was not a problem.
Almost every month, Kobayashi will bring him several high-precision machine tools from Japan, some of which are the most advanced at present, and some are not, but for him, they are just enough, so there is no need to worry about being stuck in the neck by the Japanese.
As for tcu, there is nothing we can do about this, we can only rely on a large amount of data accumulation.
The engine is equivalent to the heart of a car, the ecu is the brain of a car, and the tcu is equivalent to the left brain of the car brain. This control chip will accelerate, downshift, or self-judgment based on the depth of the driving pedal on the accelerator, or self-judgment of fuel-saving and upshifting. Cooperating with the engine is the key.
These require the accumulation of data. More than ten years later, the reason why our domestic automobile companies still cannot manufacture qualified gearboxes is the accumulation of data from ECU and TCU.
To put it bluntly, our automobile company has not invested enough in R&D, and is reluctant to invest in R&D at a high price.
For example, the data accumulation required by this tcu is the data accumulated by tens of thousands of engineers in Europe, America and Japan.
Then the data is entered into the computer, and the designed program is used to model it, allowing the chip to burn it, so that the chip has the logical ability to understand the driver's intentions. To put it bluntly, it is the simplest artificial intelligence.
If you want to build such an artificial intelligence program, you need the most original data accumulation, which is often huge.
Dozens of cars keep running and accumulating within a few years to collect enough data.
Later generations in China, Geely, which acquired D private, was probably the stunning Byd, and created such a thing and developed a dual-clutch transmission. Only then did the domestic automobile manufacturers not be able to produce automatic transmissions.
Byd is a typical example of working hard. The bosses are technically born, so even the importance of technology to a company, and they are willing to invest in technology research and development.
On the other hand, other domestic automobile manufacturers do not have such awareness.
FAW and SAIC are obsessed with the huge profits brought to them by joint venture cars, and they are simply disdainful of R&D. A R&D project, such as an automatic transmission, often requires investment of billions and several years, and it may not be possible in the end.
If you succeed, you are afraid that others will pick peaches, and you will be set as a typical attack by your opponent, so why bother?
Isn’t it better if you have those billions, eat and drink?
As for private enterprises, they can’t afford it. After all, this is a large project with large investment and puts great pressure on funds.
Byd dares to do it because it is because not only car companies, but also profits from batteries and electronic projects, but other companies can't afford it at all.
Geely took the acquisition route and got a big advantage.
The Great Wall simply covered his ears and counted on foreign companies to provide accessories to it. As a result, the Germans were stuck in the neck on the h8 project, and then they woke up like a dream.
So now Li Yifan has been preparing for the future since the beginning, and he has to do these three items by himself.
