Chapter 65 Comprehensive Action

In order to speed up the evacuation, warships from various countries have also joined the operation.

On October 22, the four-nation coalition forces of the United States, China, Europe and Russia landed on Iceland and began to assist the Icelanders in evacuation, and inspected every town, every street and every house one by one. In order to ensure that all Icelanders evacuate safely, the four-nation coalition forces also used a large number of reconnaissance equipment to conduct a comprehensive and careful search of Iceland. After all, among the more than one million Icelanders, some must be unwilling to leave their homes.

At the same time, the disaster response also began.[bsp;   In the afternoon of the same day, the US Navy used heavy helicopters to send the first batch of engineering drilling equipment to Iceland, and the engineers arrived at night.

According to the plan proposed by Chinese geologists, at least one thousand drilling wells with a depth of more than 5,000 meters must be drilled in Iceland.

Of course, this is an action plan based on limited information. How many drilling holes should be drilled, the drilling depth, distribution method, etc., will not be determined until a comprehensive geological survey of Iceland is carried out. Therefore, it is also unknown how many nuclear warheads should be used.

At this time, international negotiations related to nuclear weapons also entered a white-hot stage.

The United States has a very tough attitude. If the EU and Russia refuse to cooperate, the United States will retain something because the United States cannot use up its own nuclear warheads when other countries still have a large number of nuclear weapons. Even if China is willing, it cannot ensure that there are enough nuclear warheads to trigger this super volcanic eruption. More importantly, if the United States retains, China will also retain something.

The result is that the rescue operation will inevitably end in failure.

Of course, some people may think that they can conceal the number of nuclear warheads or hide some of them.

This is indeed possible, but it is difficult to accomplish. The reason is very simple. After the "Washington Treaty" comes into effect, all nuclear arsenals of nuclear countries are under the supervision of the Treaty Organization, and nuclear warheads are reserved at designated locations. Not to mention transfer, even normal maintenance and inspections must be supervised.

In other words, it was no secret that there were many nuclear warheads in various countries at that time.

Not to mention France, Britain and Russia, and even China's number of nuclear warheads are open secrets, and at least the other four nuclear powers have a clear mind.

After several days of negotiations, the EU and Russia had to make compromises.

On October 24, the EU took the lead in proposing that it was willing to use all nuclear warheads, but refused to destroy nuclear facilities.

The next day, Russia also expressed the same attitude, that is, it could use all nuclear warheads to save human civilization, but it would not destroy nuclear facilities and would not promise to no longer manufacture nuclear warheads.

Obviously, the United States is not satisfied with this.

On October 25, American scientists proposed an action plan for follow-up response measures for the disaster, namely, how to ensure that the global temperature does not drop sharply within one year after the volcanic eruption. The solution that can be taken is to concentrate the strength of all mankind and eliminate the harm caused by volcanic eruption.

This is a very detailed action plan, which clearly mentions that the industrial power of all countries must be concentrated to create 100,000 large aircraft that can fly to the stratosphere within one year, and use electrostatic adsorption to remove the dust blocking sunlight in the stratosphere.

Obviously, this is the solution proposed by Chinese scientists.

However, at this time, the United States proposed it not only makes it more convincing, but also puts pressure on the EU and Russia, but China does not have to offend the EU and Russia.

According to the scientist's proposal, the United States clearly stated in the Global Climate Affairs Organization that when all industrial forces must be concentrated to save the earth's ecosystem, no country should use industrial resources to develop and produce nuclear weapons with the purpose of its own security and interests.

To put it bluntly, confrontation between countries will affect disaster relief operations and will also cause unpredictable consequences.

In the words of American diplomats, if a country creates a nuclear warhead for its own safety, the United States will create ten nuclear warheads, and a third nuclear power will create one hundred nuclear warheads, which will inevitably waste precious industrial resources and cannot guarantee that enough stratosphere aircraft will be manufactured. It is only when all countries and nations give up their estrangement, so that humans can accomplish such a great feat in such a short time.

Strictly speaking, the United States has nothing wrong with its position.

You should know that according to scientists' predictions, one hundred thousand stratospheric aircraft must be built when the spring of 2037 arrives, that is, about March. In 2034, the total global aircraft production was less than 5,000, and most of them were small aircraft.

To build so many aircraft within one year, it is absolutely necessary to use the industrial resources of all mankind.

On October 27, China proposed a detailed allocation plan at the Global Climate Affairs Organization, namely, to share manufacturing tasks based on the industrial strength of each country.

By this time, the EU and Russia have no room for improvement.

If the EU and Russia insist on not giving up the right to manufacture nuclear weapons, then China and the United States will believe that the EU and Russia have strong enough industrial strength and should undertake enough manufacturing tasks. It is obvious that the EU and Russia cannot manufacture and produce nuclear weapons without overtaking manufacturing tasks. Only when the EU and Russia promise not to manufacture nuclear weapons will China and the United States make concessions in the assignment of manufacturing aircraft.

On October 28, the EU took the lead in promising to waive the right to possess nuclear weapons if all other countries promised and showed through practical actions that they would no longer manufacture nuclear weapons.

The problem is that Russia still refuses to give in.

On October 30, the United States proposed that it would be impossible to bear it: based on the Global Climate Affairs Organization, establish a new global international organization, and allocate rights and obligations based on the contributions made by various countries in disaster relief operations, and the new international organization will completely replace the United Nations.

This move is aimed at Russia.

If Russia still refuses to give up its nuclear weapons, it will lose its status as a major power in the new international order and be isolated by the international community. More importantly, because Russia refuses to give up its nuclear weapons, China, the United States and the EU will not fundamentally give up its nuclear weapons, and Russia's conventional military power is not enough. In the end, nuclear weapons will not only not bring security to Russia, but will instead derail Russia from the international trend, be sanctioned by all countries, and lose the foundation for establishing a foothold in the international community.

For Russia, it either engages in isolation policies with nuclear weapons or gives up nuclear weapons and integrates into the international family.

Obviously, it's not a difficult choice.

Even if short-term disasters can be overcome, the natural environment will deteriorate seriously. Although Russia has the vastest territory and the richest natural resources, who can ensure that it can be self-sufficiency in a few years, or decades, after? If it derails from the international community, Russia's ending will be very tragic.

Not to mention anything else, Russia will encounter big trouble in the foreseeable global food crisis.

You should know that temperature reduction is a major trend, and the difference is only how much it is reduced and the speed of cooling. Russia is located in a high-latitude area, and is more affected by cooling, and the reduction in grain output will be even greater. More importantly, Russia's population aging is quite high, and social labor is already seriously lacking. If the food supply cannot be self-sufficient and cannot be imported from abroad, Russia will encounter unprecedented difficulties.

To put it bluntly, nuclear weapons cannot be used as food.

After repeated consultations, on November 3, Russia finally made a concession and promised to give up its nuclear weapons when security is basically guaranteed.

At this point, the rescue operation has taken a crucial step.

At this time, the comprehensive survey of Iceland by geologists has also been completed.

According to the survey results, geologists revised the initial report, which required at least five thousand drilling and 5,000 million-ton nuclear warheads to blow Iceland into the sky. Although only one thousand nuclear warheads are needed to cause a volcanic eruption, to blow Iceland into powder and produce enough dust during the volcanic eruption, the explosion equivalent must be increased by four times and the explosion density.

It can be said that in this month, international organizations' actions were astonishingly efficient.

In fact, this also reflects the vitality of human civilization. At the critical moment of life and death, there is no longer any bureaucratic style, and everyone is trying hard to seize the time.

After the action plan was issued, the Global Climate Affairs Organization immediately voted.

There was no suspense in the end, and all fifteen members agreed.

On November 5, drilling operations officially began.

Within a week, more than 200 drilling teams from more than 40 countries arrived one after another, and an average of seventy ultra-deep drilling holes with a depth of 5,000 meters per day. At this speed, the drilling work will be completed in fifty days, that is, December 25th.

On November 7, military representatives from China, the United States, Europe and Russia arrived in Iceland.

According to the plan, the four parties will jointly dispatch technicians to debug and assemble the nuclear warhead.

To ensure that all nuclear warheads can detonate, before this, the four parties will also test the sampled nuclear warheads in the Nanob Desert in Southwest Africa.

To put it bluntly, it is the live-fire explosion test.

Only through explosion experiments can accurate data on the reliability rate of nuclear warheads be obtained, and other nuclear warheads can be simulated and explosive tests can be carried out through computers.

According to the data given by scientists, the detonation rate of nuclear warheads must reach more than 95%.

Obviously, this is not a low indicator. You should know that even nuclear warheads that perform combat readiness deployment missions have a detonation reliability of about 80%.

At the same time, a comprehensive inspection of all nuclear countries was carried out.

According to the agreement reached by the four parties on November 3, a comprehensive verification work will be completed on December 26, that is, before the volcano is triggered, and all nuclear facilities will be destroyed to ensure that all countries hand over all nuclear warheads. The excess nuclear warheads will be destroyed uniformly before December 30, that is, scientists give a summary report on the results of the volcano eruption, and will be unified under the supervision of the four parties.
