Chapter 292 Quantum Theory

After the anti-gravity field technology, the greatest scientific and technological achievements made by mankind are definitely a major breakthrough in quantum physics.

Quantum theory was almost simultaneously published with Einstein's theory of relativity. For a long time, scientists believed that the former explains the microscopic world and the latter explains the macroscopic world, which together constitute the basis of modern physics and can also perfectly explain all physical phenomena.

With in-depth research on quantum physics, many scientists have found that this is not the case.

Humans' in-depth research in the field of quantum theory began with a technical need, namely the quantum communication technology mentioned above. In theory, quantum communication technology is not limited by space and distance, and can transmit information in real time, and its communication efficiency is far beyond any known means.

To this end, China's political work first invested huge amounts of scientific research funds in this field.

The most extreme project is to circumvent the geosynchronous orbit and build a ring particle accelerator of 263,000 kilometers.

This project took twenty years and was officially completed in 2082.

In fact, this circular track is the basis of the later orbital city, that is, the birthplace of human beings in the universe was established on this circular acceleration track.

There is no doubt that this is definitely a rare mega-engineering project in human history.

In terms of engineering quantity, the moon base is nothing.

Between 2063 and 2082, China's government invested nearly 30 trillion yuan in this project and used almost 10 million labor force. In order to transport materials and equipment to geosynchronous orbits, China's government built a total of 3,000 large orbital vehicles, the smallest could carry thousands of tons of cargo, and the largest could carry five thousand tons of large equipment. During the construction period of twenty years, a total of about 200 million people participated, or indirectly participated in the project, and more people were engaged in related work.

In the end, this is no longer a scientific research project in China.

The main thing is that it is too much.

Since 2071, the United States, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Canada and Australia have participated one after another. Some countries provide engineering construction assistance, and some countries provide engineering funds, which eventually evolved into international aerospace engineering.

In the end, the project spent nearly 1.5 billion yuan, and the total amount of materials and equipment transported reached 40 billion tons.

After the project is completed, on clear nights, people can see acceleration tracks surrounding the earth like belts on the ground.

To be precise, it is a string of "chain beads" hanging horizontally in the night sky.

The reason is very simple. At the beginning, the annular acceleration orbit was not a complete ring, but consisted of more than 10,000 acceleration nodes. Each acceleration node was about one kilometer long and about five hundred meters in diameter. It was a hollow barrel-shaped body open at both ends. The distance between two adjacent nodes was about twenty-five kilometers, and there was no direct connection. Each node was individually stationary with the earth. When the accelerator was working, the accelerated particles passed through these nodes in turn, accelerating while changing direction slightly. If a proton was accelerated, the speed could reach 99% of the speed of light after flying around the accelerator for one week.

In the beginning, scientists questioned the construction of geosynchronous orbit accelerators.

Of course, this is also easy to understand, because anti-gravity field propulsion technology can already accelerate the spacecraft to the speed of light, is it necessary to build an accelerator specifically for particle acceleration?

However, this kind of doubt is unreasonable.

Gravity field theory has proved that accelerating objects through anti-gravity field technology is completely different from the usual method, that is, anti-gravity field technology uses gravity field energy, that is, space energy, and this energy is still extremely unfamiliar to humans and has no help in the study of microscopic physics.

In fact, Chinese physicists have made attempts in this regard before this.

At that time, Lu Wen had not retired yet, so he organized an acceleration experiment on microscopic particles, using anti-gravity field technology. The experimental results show that due to different basic principles of action, the physical performance of particles accelerated by space when they collide with each other is completely different.

In other words, using anti-gravity field technology to accelerate microscopic particles is simply not feasible.

With the continuous improvement of gravity field theory, scientists quickly discovered the key reasons.

The most important reason is that the anti-gravity field technology actually acts on objects at the microscopic level, that is, it directly targets elementary particles when accelerating. Therefore, there will definitely be differences in the physical performance of microscopic particles after acceleration through the anti-gravity field technology.

Obviously, particle accelerators do not use space energy, but electromagnetic energy.

In this way, when accelerating, it does not directly act on the elementary particles, so the characteristics of microscopic particles after acceleration are more in line with quantum theory.

The reason is very simple. In quantum theory, space energy is not involved at all.

It was precisely with such a theoretical basis that China decided to build a geosynchronous orbit accelerator and finally brought in almost all developed industrial countries.

In fact, this is also the main reason why the construction work was officially launched in 2063.

You should know that it was not until 2063 that Chinese theoretical physicists basically confirmed that space energy is a brand new energy that exceeds quantum theory and general relativity. Therefore, when conducting experiments related to quantum theory, space energy must not be used.

To make a simple analogy, it is like the three laws of Newtonian mechanics do not work in a nuclear explosion.

In fact, this is a very simple truth, but it took several years for humans who are still in a state of ignorance to figure it out.

Of course, this coincides with the science and technology explosion theory proposed by Russell.

To put it bluntly, humans have understood and mastered spatial energy more than two hundred years in advance, and the laws of scientific development have been broken, and they have entered a new era ahead of time.

At this time, humans are like a group of primitive people who have just learned to live suddenly entered the industrial age and found that there are fire seeds everywhere, but they are not helpful in improving the method of drilling wood to make fire.

Of course, this is an inappropriate metaphor, because quantum theory is an irreplaceable theory of physics.

In a sense, only quantum theory runs across the entire physics, and only quantum theory can accurately explain microscopic phenomena. Fundamentally, gravity field theory is still a macroscopic physics theory, mainly used to explain macroscopic physics phenomena. Compared with general relativity, the biggest breakthrough of gravity field theory is to introduce space energy and extend macroscopic physics to the field of space energy. In other words, gravity field theory actually cannot fully explain microscopic physics phenomena, and still needs to be improved by quantum theory. From another perspective, gravity field theory is actually a bridge between microscopic and macroscopic physics theory.

However, this is a more profound physics theory.

Of course, after the geosynchronous orbit accelerator was put into use, physicists quickly made significant gains in the field of quantum theory.

By the end of the 21st century, physicists had discovered more than a dozen microscopic particles.

These new discoveries gradually perfected quantum theory and gave more convincing answers to some previously unexplained phenomena.

However, there is still a long way to go before success.

At that time, physicists had discovered that the geosynchronous orbit accelerator was still too small and still did not allow physicists to see the basic particles that must exist in theory.

The so-called basic particles are the smallest and cannot be separated.

In other words, basic particles are the fundamental matter that makes up the existing world. All known matter, whether it is positive matter or antimatter, are composed of basic particles.

So, what exactly do basic particles look like?

Unfortunately, until the end of the 21st century, physicists could not give a clear answer, because the microscopic particles discovered by physicists can actually continue to decompose. In other words, these microscopic particles are actually composed of smaller particles.

To continue decomposing, you have to rely on the accelerator, that is, let these microscopic particles collide at extremely high speeds.

By the end of the 21st century, physicists from the International Quantum Theory Research Association proposed that the energy provided by geosynchronous orbit accelerators had reached their limits and no basic particles were found. Therefore, the international community should jointly fund to build a larger particle accelerator.

At that time, physicists proposed to build particle accelerators around the sun.

The construction method is similar to that of the geosynchronous orbital particle accelerator. In the orbit around the sun, millions of acceleration nodes are placed to allow the accelerated particles to pass through these nodes in turn. Because the scale is much larger, scientists estimate that elementary particles can be found in this accelerator.

The problem is that the scale and actual cost of this project are far beyond the affordability of any country.

You should know that in theory, the construction cost of the ring-sun particle accelerator is 100 million times that of the geosynchronous orbit accelerator, or even more.

Given the situation at that time, it is probably impossible for humans to unite.

The result is that politicians all think that quantum theory physicists are lunatics, so they have not taken the matter of building a ring-sun particle accelerator to heart for the time being.

It must be admitted that at this time, humanity was almost destroyed in the hands of politicians.

You know, this delay lasted for twenty years.

For the human civilization, which is always fought for every second, twenty years almost means the difference between destruction and survivor.

Of course, we cannot completely blame politicians. After all, human economic strength is still very limited at the end of the 21st century and cannot afford such a huge scientific research project.

However, there is one thing that cannot be denied, that is, in the field of physics, quantum theory has become a roadblock.

Whether a major breakthrough can be made in quantum theory will directly affect how much scientific and technological achievements human civilization can achieve.

By the beginning of the 21st century, quantum theory restrictions had had a serious negative impact on the life, production, and aerospace exploration of human civilization.

Now, even if there are difficulties, I have to get on the move.
