Chapter 40 The Quidditch Tournament

The world always spreads the fastest news. Before dinner, the news that Modi Gurris was about to prepare for the Quidditch World Cup and withdrew from the team spread. When many people were amazed at Modi's skills, some people were also secretly happy.

Wood gathered all the Gryffindor players.

"This is my last year," he said with a serious expression. "I will leave at the end of this year and I will never have a chance to fight again."

"It's been seven years since we won. We are the most unfortunate. Someone was injured again. Last year's championship was not held again..." Wood couldn't say it anymore, and his memories seemed to be blocking his throat.

Harry looked a little dazed. At that time, he was absent due to the Philosopher's Stone. Gryffindor was defeated by Ravenclaw led by Mo Wen by six and seven. However, that seemed to be a long time ago. At that time, his relationship with Guris was not bad.

"But we are the best team in the school," he said, thrusting his fist towards his other hand, and the always manic fidget flashed in his eyes again.

"We have batsmen who can't be beaten," the Weasley brothers just smiled.

"Our chasing players' attacks are invincible," he looked at Angelina, Petty and Alia.

"Also, we have a golfer who will surely catch the Golden Snitch," Wood shouted, staring at Harry with a kind of fanatical pride, "and me." He thought about it and added this sentence.

"We all think you're very good, Wood," George said.

"The most powerful goalkeeper," Fred said.

"The problem is," Wood continued to pace, continuing, "Quidditch Champions League should have our names this year. Since Harry joined our team, I think the Gold Cup is in our bag, but we haven't got it yet. This is the last chance, and we will see our names on it..."

He looked at Harry and Angelina and the others, "I know there is some friction in the team, but I beg you here to put down some unhappiness first and train carefully." The latter was guilty and put down his head. In fact, Angelina and the others had no conflicts with Harry. It was just that one of them was unhappy with Mo Wen, and the other wanted to protect his little lover.

Under Wood's sincere gaze, the few people nodded and signaled that they understood.

Seeing all this, Wood lost a long sigh, "Of course the good news is not without it. I just got the accurate news. Our biggest opponent, Gurrys of Ravenclaw, has withdrawn from the team. Now no one can stop us. Our first opponent is the Slytherin team. In order to ensure victory, I decided to practice the whole team more!"

"What?"

"No!"

"Wood, you demon!"

The Gryffindor players, who were originally a little excited by Wood, lamented.

"You'd better be obedient," Wood looked at the Weasley brothers who were whispering there and didn't know what to discuss. A light flashed in his eyes. "I heard that Guris turned Digoli of Hufflepuff into a pig. Suddenly, he thought this method was good, so don't force me to take action."

George and Fred felt a chill in their hearts. The fact that Digory was turned into a pig and threw it on the train by Mo Wen had already spread throughout the school. When they thought that they would be visited like this, they felt that their legs were trembling.

Angelina and the others suddenly sighed.

"What's wrong?" Wood said, looking at his teammates with dissatisfaction.

"I originally thought he was tall and beautiful." Alia.

"Strong and silent," Petty continued.

Angelina finally said, "I didn't expect that in the end I was so fond of it, I was so useless." But after thinking about it, she added, "Of course it may be because Guris is too powerful."

Not knowing what he thought of, the three girls suddenly turned red at the same time, and they looked at the audience for some inexplicable moments.

Just as Gryffindor was preparing for a match against Slytherin, an accident interrupted their arrangement.

"We're not fighting Slytherin!" Wood told them, looking angry, "Marcus just came to me and we'll be on Hufflepuff."

"Why?" the other team members asked in unison.

"Marcus's excuse is that their team's goalkeeper's arm injury has not healed yet," Wood said with gritted teeth, "It's obvious that they do this. They don't want to play in such a weather. They think there is little chance of winning like this..." When Wood spoke, there was a strong wind and heavy rain outside, and they heard thunder in the distance.

"Malfoy's arm is nothing," Harry said angrily. "He is pretending."

He witnessed the whole process with his own eyes. In order to frame Hagrid, Malfoy deliberately provoked the Eagle-headed Horse-body Winged Beast, but he was scratched by his arm, but Harry could guarantee that the injury would be cured immediately by Mrs. Pomfrey.

"We all know this, but we can't prove it." Wood said painfully. "We have been training hard all the time to think it will be against Slytherin, but in the end it will be Hufflepuff, their style of play is very different. Their captain Digory-"

"It's a pig." Freddy suddenly interjected.

All the Gryffindor players laughed, and for a moment Wood also smiled at the corner of his mouth, but immediately said seriously: "Don't take it lightly, Digory is still very powerful."

It turned out that Wood was right, and on the day of the game, they fell into a tough battle.

Although Gryffindor was still leading in the heavy rain, he didn't score much.

Harry felt the cold rain seeping into his skin, he could hardly see his teammates, nor did he know the game, his 2000 wheel swaying in the wind, Wood shouted in the rain, but he couldn't hear what he was calling.

"Harry!" Finally Wood's voice came over, very anxious, "Harry, behind you."

Harry turned around and happened to see Digory pounced at a golden ball again and again in the heavy rain.

Harry felt a sudden panic, and he lay on the broom and rushed towards the ball.

"Quick, hurry!" He shouted to the light wheel 2000, and the raindrops whipped on his face. "Hurry sooner!" But something strange happened. The gymnasium suddenly became creepy and quiet. Although the wind was very strong, it seemed as if I had forgotten to make a sound. It seemed that someone suddenly turned off the sound. Harry seemed to be deaf all of a sudden - what happened?

Then a terrifying and familiar cold flow came over him, and he began to notice something moving on the stadium below...

More than a hundred dementors, their shameful faces were facing him, and he felt the ice water surge in his chest, cutting off the things inside his body. Then he began to hear someone screaming, screaming in his mind...

The audience only saw Digory grabbing the golden thief, and then Harry suddenly slid down from the broom, but immediately everyone realized what was going on. A terrifying coldness hit the face, and more than a hundred tall figures in cloaks appeared on the stadium.
