Chapter Eleven: The Bandage Attack
After dinner, Charles began patrolling the mouse to ensure everyone's safety.
I don’t know what caused the sailor to disappear. When the enemy is dark and we are bright, I can only use this stupid method for the time being.
The atmosphere on the boat returned to before coming again. Everyone was trembling and tried their best to expose themselves to other people's sight, fearing that they would disappear silently.
I don’t know if Charles’s method worked, or the thing left, and the mouse was very peaceful for a few days.
Four days later, Charles stood at the bow of the boat and looked at the dark sea in the distance.
"At three days, the mouse will be able to return to the beacon route in at most, and it should be safe at that time."
After estimating the time he would return to the island in his mind, Charles turned his head and looked at Anna who was sitting on the anchor machine. "Let's go, let's go to the vortex room to check it out."
"If you don't go, you will be wandering around with you every day, just like a fool. There is nothing to do with just a broken place. You should go to yourself." Anna looked impatient.
"Don't let go of your guard. It's dangerous for you to be alone." Charles went over and pulled her arm lightly, but she threw it away with her hand.
"Oh, I can't tell you anymore. Why are you so annoyed, and the mummy is just watching it, what danger can there be?"
Charles looked up and could clearly see the bandage at the helm through the transparent glass.
"Okay, sit and rest. I'll be back soon." Charles opened the hatch door and headed to the lowest level of the turbine cabin.
As the power core of the entire steamboat, the turbine cabin was very stuffy. As soon as Charles entered, he saw the shirtless big tube wheel James, who was adding fuel, and was like a hot sailor next to him who stuck out his tongue like a dog.
"Captain, I really can't stand it. Let me go up. This place is too hot." Dipp complained to Charles with a frown.
"For the safety of your companions, be patient."
"Even if there are any man-eating monsters, they won't come down. This place is so hot, who can stand it except for big men?"
Charles walked to James and patted his strong shoulder with his hands. "Thank you for your hard work, the temperature insulation effect of the new ship will be much better."
James smiled honestly, "I'm used to it. Apart from the hot topics, the work below is very easy."
"When you buy a new ship, you will be too busy to do it alone. Then you will be the chief engineer, the big pipe wheel, the second pipe wheel, and the third pipe wheel will be managed by you."
Unexpectedly, James seemed to be frightened by Charles' words, and quickly took a step back and swung quickly like a fan with his hands.
"No, no, no, I don't care about people. Let others come. I'll just be responsible for adding the fire, it's really true."
Charles, who was smiling, was about to comfort his crew, but suddenly a loud noise came from the pipe next to him. As the mouse made a cry, everything around him tilted to 75° instantly.
Charles, who was staggering and falling to the ground, immediately realized that the hull suddenly tilted. It must be the helmsman that had something wrong. He climbed to the communication tube with his limbs and shouted loudly inside: "Bandage!! Reply when you hear it!!"
What came from inside was the sound of flesh tearing and the painful hum of the bandage.
"Damn it!" Charles pulled out his waist revolver and quickly climbed towards the stairs with a shaking.
"You two are here with me! Something happened to the cockpit!!"
When Charles rushed to the deck in a hurry, he saw Anna panicked with tears in her eyes. "That mummy...that mummy!!"
Charles and the other four rushed to the cockpit and saw dark red blood splattering everywhere, making the cockpit mess.
The bandage that was supposed to be in the helm was lying miserably on the ground like a rag doll bitten by a dog. Removed the wounds of all sizes on his body, and his right leg was gone.
Charles rushed to the scarred bandage, and for a moment he didn't know where to put his hands. After two seconds, Charles used his hand to tear open the bandage on his face and pointed his fingers in front of his nose.
After feeling the faint breath, Charles breathed a little relieved. He quickly pulled out the black knife inserted into his boots and held the bandage in his hand, hoping that he could use the healing force of the black knife to catch life.
"Anna! Don't be stunned, come and stop the bleeding!"
Charles' shout woke up the unruly ship doctor. Her eyes were red and she nodded repeatedly and quickly ran out the door. "I...I'll get the hemorrhagic forceps!"
"Don't give up, buddy, you won't have any trouble, don't give up." The anxious Charles secretly encouraged in the bandage's ear.
After a while, Anna ran back and shouted in confusion: "Charles, my medical box is gone!"
Charles looked at Anna for a moment and said quickly: "Go to the captain's room, at the bottom of the cabinet, I have prepared some medicine! Dipp, go and call everyone over! Hurry up!"
After a rush, six people were left standing in front of the unconscious bandage in the messy cockpit.
Everyone looked at Charles with nervous eyes, trying to find a sense of security. This feeling made Charles feel more stressed, but at this time, it was the time when the captain was needed, so he couldn't be confused.
"Anna, have you seen what attacked the bandage??"
"I didn't see it, and the ship suddenly tilted and I fell to the ground."
"That thing is still on the boat, it will definitely make another move."
"But Captain, we've searched all of them, there's no one at all. Could that thing be invisible?" asked Dipp, with a frown face.
The monsters in the sea are all kinds of strange things, and invisibility is not a big deal.
"There is little chance. If it is invisible, there is no need to wait for this long."
Charles knew that he had to do something and could not let his crew be attacked again. If this continues, the entire mouse will become an iron coffin and bury everyone completely.
But what can he do if he knows nothing?
After thinking for a while, Charles pursed his lips and spoke, "Big wheel tube, the turbine can be driven to a large scale. As long as it can return to the Coral Islands as quickly as possible, it will be fine if the mouse number is scrapped."
"Dip, you bring a water to lock all the hatch doors."
"Frey, move all the food that can be eaten raw in the kitchen to the turbine room and the cockpit, and the others stay in these two places."
Since you can't find it, then just stop looking for it and stay together until you return to Hong Kong.
"What should I do when I go to the bathroom?" Anna asked in a low voice.
Charles tapped the clear glass in front of him with his finger, "The deck is facing out."
As the crowd began to gather in two places, the atmosphere of the entire mouse became more and more depressing.
In the cockpit, Dipp was at the helm, Anna cared for bandages in the hammock, while Charles, who was sitting on a stool, continued writing with his diary.
