Chapter 25 Birthday

It is early in the summer, and it is already sunny at the hour of Mao. Huijin dug up Song Ruoxi, who is sleeping sweetly, from the bed, took her out of the mountain gate, turned on the path on the left, and climbed up the mountain. The silent forest was silent, and the winding path was winding around, wild flowers were everywhere in the mountains, the morning breeze was filled with fresh fragrance, and the sun shone through the lush branches all over the ground. Huijin walked vigorously in front, and Song Ruoxi, who was sleepy, followed the difficulty behind.

"Master, where are we going?" Song Ruoxi asked panting.

Huijin turned around and said, "If you don't go anywhere, just climb the mountain."

Song Ruoxi was extremely depressed. He woke up so early and thought there was something important. He turned out to be just climbing a mountain and yawned, "Master, you don't need to climb a mountain so early. According to scientific research, exercise in the evening is the most beneficial."

Hui Jin chanted the Buddha's name and said, "The dawn of the morning is the light of the six senses. Those who are empty and quiet in the six senses are far away from the four elements. It is called emptiness. It is not free from the flow of exterior and quiet. It is also not related to the meaning of external dust. The four turbidities have been transcended. The roots and dust are not sticky. Therefore, it is said that the inside and outside are clear and bright. From then on, there is no root that can enter inside. There is no place to enter outside..."

"Ah!" Song Ruoxi felt a faint pain when he heard the Buddhist scriptures, "Master, stop reading, I just climb the mountain."

Huijin chuckled and shook her head. The master and apprentice passed through a pine forest and came to the edge of the cliff. There was a flat huge rock between the two big trees. Huijin climbed up the stone and sat cross-legged. Song Ruoxi hesitated for a moment, carefully climbed up, sat down beside Huijin, with the sun shining on his head, "Master, are we here to absorb the essence of the sun?"

"Jingchen, play a song!" Huijin took out a bamboo flute from her sleeve and handed it to Song Ruoxi.

Song Ruoxi looked around with pine trees and asked, "Master, can I play "Song Tao Song"?"

Huijin nodded slightly.

The morning breeze blows by, and the pine branches sway, as if dancing to the melodious sound of the flute. After the song is blown, Hui Jin comes down from the stone, "Let's go back!"

Song Ruoxi was confused, so he climbed up, sat down, played a song, and went back. What exactly was he going to do? "Master, what are you always trying to do? It's better to say it clearly. I'm very stupid, I don't understand what you mean."

"Jingchen, from now on, you will come here every day."

"Master, the environment in Zizhutai is very good, just practice playing the flute there." Song Ruoxi didn't have the energy to climb up the mountain so early every day.

Huijin smiled slightly and said, "It's not that you are here to practice flute playing, but that you are climbing mountains to exercise your muscles and bones, make your body stronger, get less sick, and drink less medicine."

Song Ruoxi remembered what happened yesterday and today, and his little face turned slightly red. He felt ashamed of not being able to understand Huijin's painstaking efforts. In modern times, relying on good health, he became lazy and forgot that his body is very delicate. In this ancient times, when medical conditions were backward, if he didn't exercise well, he might lose his life if he got a minor illness. "Master, I will come to climb mountains every day in the future."

"You can bring a flute to play music, or you can bring a book to read, as you like." Hui Jin said.

"I understand, Master." Song Ruoxi held Huijin's arm and said with a smile.

From this day on, in summer, Song Ruoxi begins to go up the mountain at Mao hour, in spring and autumn, in Chen hour, and in winter, in Chen hour, and in Chen hour, when it rains and snows, do gymnastics in the room and try to exercise stronger.

June 19th is the day of Guanyin Bodhisattva’s enlightenment, and it is also the tenth birthday of Song Ruoxi. Pilgrims gather in the temple.

Huijin gave her a painting as a birthday gift. The painting was painted with sparse plums and pine trees, clear and light, clean and flawless, without dust. The sparse plums on the edge of the cliffs of the valley were ethereal, elegant, quiet and clear, and the pine trees were moist, vast and deep in the gaps of the rocks.

"The plum blossoms bloom in the cold, and the pine trees are evergreen all year round. Master hopes that you are like plum blossoms."

"Thank you, Master, I will not let my disciple down." Song Ruoxi said in a serious manner.

Most of the senior brothers such as Jingye gave various hand-written scriptures or hand-embroidered scriptures. Song Ruoxi thanked them one by one, and then placed the scriptures at the bottom of the box.

The nuns in the temple were busy welcoming the pilgrims, and Song Ruoxi went to the courtyard to find An Yu. The bowl of five-color longevity noodles made for her was refreshing in the soup. "Thank you, Silkworm, it's delicious."

"It's good if the girl likes to eat." A smile appeared on the dull face of the silkworm girl and left with a tray.

After Song Ruoxi finished eating noodles, An Yu handed her a small brocade box, "Jingchen, do you like it?"

Song Ruoxi opened the box and found two gourd-patterned white jade pendants made of a piece of jade. The jade is gentle and carved in exquisite form. It looks like a good thing at first glance, and it is expensive. "Aunt An, is this very expensive?"

"I ask you if you like it or not, what do you do if it is expensive or not?" An Yu glanced at her angrily.

"I like it." Song Ruoxi smiled, his eyes slightly turned, and he became more and more curious about An Yu's identity.

In the Shen Shimo, Song Ruoxi went out with a brocade box, locked the yard door, and went home. He did not notice that under the shadow not far away, his eyes were staring at her. After she left, a man in a blue dress and gray skirt, holding a small bun walked quietly to the door, looked inside through the crack of the door, listened to the movement inside, and quietly left.

Time flies, autumn goes by and winter comes, and the weather becomes colder and colder. The sharp north wind is rampant, making the branches rustle. Silkworm stands in the corridor, looking at the gloomy sky, and says, "Miss, I'm afraid I won't come today."

"What other delicious food have you made? Do you want to give it to her?" An Yu's smile came from the room.

"Make lotus seeds and longan sweet soup."

"Tianhan just drink some hot soup to warm up, bring me a bowl."

"Yes, layman." The silkworm turned around and went to the kitchen to serve soup.

The sky became more and more gloomy, the cold wind was getting wilder, and it was mixed with raindrops. In the wind and rain, a figure quickly passed through the forest, crossed the high wall of Jinglian Temple, stood on the top of a stone pavilion, identified the direction, and flew away with a pointer.

The visitor landed on the grape trellis in the small courtyard where she lived, standing in the wind, her clothes flew, and her black hair that had never been tied up also rose with the wind. If Song Ruoxi was here, she would recognize that the visitor was the man in purple who she had seen by the stream last year.

Silkworm walked out of the kitchen with a tray, and looked at the man in purple standing on the grape trellis. His eyes fell on the delicate and transparent mutton fat jade pendant hanging around his waist. His face instantly pale and his lips trembled, as if he saw a ghost.

The man in purple looked at Silkworm Girl from a high place, curling his lips slightly, "Silkworm Girl, long time no see!"
