Chapter 61 The Real Madman of the Republic of China

Chapter 61 The Real Madman of the Republic of China

During the Republic of China, most famous scholars and scholars were very crazy, such as Lu Xun, who used a pen as a gun to criticize current ills; Fu Sinian, who spoke with his legs crossed in front of Chiang Kai-shek, and his mouth was directly at Song Ziwen, Kong Xiangxi's "Fu Dapao" Fu Sinian; Lu Keng, who publicly exposed Confucius and Song's corruption in the Kuomintang party newspaper "Central Daily", and made generous statements in front of Chiang Kai-shek; Ye Gongchao, who cursed Chiang Kai-shek in person, and so on. There was another even more awesome who actually dared to kick Chiang Kai-shek with his feet in public, and he was Liu Wendian.

Liu Wendian, whose courtesy name was Shuya, was from Hefei, Anhui. He entered Anhui Public School in 1906 and was highly appreciated by two teachers, Chen Duxiu and Liu Shipei. In 1907, Liu Wendian joined the Tongmenghui. In 1909, he traveled to Japan and studied at Waseda University. At the same time, he followed Zhang Taiyan's "Shuowen" and listened to Zhang Shizhao's speech. His patriotic thoughts became increasingly mature.

After the success of the Xinhai Revolution, Liu Wendian returned to China and joined Yu Youren, Shao Lizi and others in Shanghai to run the Minli Daily. Under the pseudonym Liu Tianming, he published a series of articles promoting democracy and anti-Yuan. In 1913, Yuan Shikai sent someone to assassinate, Song Jiaoren and Fan Hongxian were killed, and Liu Wendian was shot in the arm and injured.

After the failure of the "Second Revolution", Lao Sun went into exile in Japan. Liu Wendian also traveled to Fusang again that year, joined Lao Sun's Chinese Revolutionary Party, and served as Lao Sun's confidential secretary, actively engaged in anti-Yuan activities. After Yuan Shikai's fall, Liu Wendian resolutely stayed away from politics and determined to engage in academic research. From then on, he began to write books and teach and educate people until he was old.

There are too many interesting stories about Liu Wendian. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, Liu Wendian often warned himself that "the country and nation are a major festival, and it is not careless, and scholars should cherish their feathers." He ignored the temptation of the Japanese and went to Southwest Associated University to teach. At Southwest Associated University, he was the only professor who smoked opium. He had two favorite things, one was Yuntu, and he openly praised "Yuntu" as the best among opium; the other was Yunlu, which was Yunlu, which was from this. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, all schools of Southwest Associated University moved back, and Liu Wendian did not return to Beijing with Tsinghua University, but stayed at Yunnan University to teach. It is said that the reason was because he was reluctant to leave Yuntu and Yunlu, which obviously introduced the style of literati.

There are several versions of Liu Wendian's kick to Chiang Kai-shek, and the content is roughly the same.

In August 1927, Liu Wendian was hired by the Anhui Provincial Government and went to Anqing, where the provincial government was located at the time to prepare for Anhui University. Later, he served as the president. On November 23, 1929, a scholarship in Anhui academic circles occurred. On the afternoon of the 29th, Chiang Kai-shek rushed to Anqing to deal with it and summoned Liu Wendian.

Liu Wendian is also a veteran revolutionary, so he doesn't take Chiang Kai-shek seriously. After the two met, Chiang Kai-shek asked Liu Wendian to hand over a list of 10 party members who led the trouble and deal with the students who participated in the school. Liu Wendian said: "You are the commander-in-chief, so you should take your soldiers well. I am the president of the university. I will take care of the school affairs." The two of them became more and more intense. One scolded "You are a scholar" and the other accused "You are a new warlord". In anger, Chiang Kai-shek slapped Liu Wendian twice. Liu Wendian was not willing to be outdone and kicked Chiang Kai-shek in the stomach.

The matter was a big deal. Chiang Kai-shek ordered Liu Wendian to be locked up. In the end, some said that it was forced by social pressure, and some said that Chen Lifu said good things. Chiang Kai-shek took the condition of "leaving Anhui today" and was detained according to the "Public Security Regulations" and was detained for seven days. After the An Da incident, Liu Wendian was invited by Cai Yuanpei and returned to Peking University to teach. Later, Tsinghua University President Luo Jialun hired him to be the head of the Chinese Department at Tsinghua University. The Ministry of Education of the National Government did not refuse to be appointed because Liu Wendian kicked Chiang Kai-shek, and the Organization Department did not use him internally. It seemed that the government, society, and schools valued real talents and knowledge.

Liu Wendian was arrogant, but he had a clear mind on the issue of major issues. In 1931, the Guangdong warlord Chen Jitang knew that Liu Wendian had rebelled against Chiang Kai-shek. He had asked Liu to work with Guangdong many times and sent a large amount of money to hire him. Liu refuted to thank him and returned the huge sum of money, sighing: "When the Japanese invaders invaded China, the mountains and rivers were broken, and the country was in great danger, we should unite to fight against Japan. How can we ignore the enemy and engage in a warlord melee? If the skin is gone, where will the hair be attached?"?"

How can such a great man and a high-level intellectual not be admired by pseudo-high-level intellectuals like Wang Jin? In this way, Xu Xilin really sent such a great man to him as a spy. Without saying anything, he immediately joined the revolutionary party. Otherwise, he would not collapse if he lived in inferiority and depression all day long?

When I thought about it, I couldn't help but feel ridiculous for my timidity. When is this time? In 1907! Mr. Liu was still studying in Anhui Public School, how could he have such a big aura?

The serious teacher he followed was even more famous. He was influenced by the old teachers, and was mixed with the passionate and extreme elements of the early Tongmenghui. It would be strange if the thoughts and personality did not change. Mao Si has not joined the Tongmenghui yet. Shouldn't he take the opportunity to win over it? Maybe it will be of great use in the future?

As soon as such an idea came out, he was very moved and could no longer stop his thoughts. The pleasure of accepting such historical celebrities as younger brothers made him extremely excited. At this moment, he made up his mind to accept Liu Wendian's worldview before it was formed, and to cultivate it as soon as possible.

"Wang Jin, Wang Jin, are you listening to me?"

Wang Jin suddenly came back to his senses. Facing Xu Huiban, who looked unkind, he touched his nose awkwardly. It was not a glorious thing to be distracted when his boss spoke. He nodded slightly to express his apology and waited to answer the teachings of the adults.

Xu Xilin was angry and had no place to do anything, so he really had no choice but to take the boy in front of him. He turned around and glared at the smiling student Wang Siliang, warning him not to learn bad things, and then said seriously: "Wang Jin, Siliang is my student. I will follow you to do things in the future. I hope you will take care of him more. Of course, if he doesn't obey the command, you can teach him a lesson!"

Wang Jin cursed hypocrisy in his heart, but a polite smile on his face: "Where is where, high-quality talents like Siliang brothers are exactly what I urgently need. I believe that Siliang brothers will definitely be the powerful arm of their subordinates in the future." Wang Siliang, who said a tender face, felt a little embarrassed, and his favorability towards Wang Jin increased a lot.

"That's the best!" Xu Xilin smiled without comment. The topic was forwarded and the invitation was sent: "Tonight, I will prepare food and drinks in Tianxianglou. One is to celebrate the honor for the king, and the other is to promote my student. Don't be late at that time!"
