Chapter 635 Soldiers Out of the Far East 3
Khabarovsk, the largest city in the Far East of the Soviet Union, is also the location of the Soviet Far East Military Sub-district and is often under the jurisdiction of the Irkusko Military Region. Khabarovsk is located in the lower reaches of Heilongjiang, namely the Armu River, the intersection of the Songhua River, the Ussuri River and Heilongjiang River in China. The earliest Chinese name of Khabarovsk was Boli. After 1860, the Sino-Russia Beijing Treaty, which included the territory east of the Ussuri River, was occupied by Tsarist Russia. In 1893, it was renamed as Khabarovsk.
Boli was once the most important market town in the north in all dynasties. It has always been a Chinese territory and a military center. Boli is the transliteration of the Jurchen language, meaning "pea". The Tang Dynasty established Boli Prefecture here, and Liao was the garrison of the Cham Ali tribe, one of the five states. Jin was the jurisdiction of Huli, the jurisdiction of Shuidada Road, and the Ming Dynasty was the Xishen Wei Office of the ** Gandu Si. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was first under the jurisdiction of Zhang Jing of Ningguta'ang Gang, and later changed to the jurisdiction of the Sanxing Deputy Chief.[]
In 1858, in the eighth year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty, the Tsarist Russian invading troops occupied Boli and established a military outpost. Later, Boli City was named after the leader of Tsarist Russian invasion of Heilongjiang since the 17th century. In 1860, during the 2nd Raven War in China, the Tsarist Russian government forced the Qing government to sign an unequal Sino-Russian Beijing Treaty, and the vast area east of the Ussuri River to the sea was seized by Tsarist Russia.
Boli City is now the largest city and transportation hub in the northeast of the Soviet Union, with railway lines passing through the city. The wide Almu River rolls northward and water transportation is very developed in summer. Due to the limited financial resources of the Soviet government, especially the sparse residents in the local area, the economic development of the Soviet Far East is basically blank, and the entire Far East is basically a barren land.
Three days after our army sent troops, the 1st Tank Division of the 2nd Column entered from Jiayin County, a tank brigade of the 2nd Column advanced east along the railway line and soon rushed to the vicinity of Khabarovsk. General Chikayev, the commander of the Soviet Far East Military Sub-district, ordered all troops of the Far East Military Sub-district to resist. The commander of the border guards who resisted on the Suifenhe border on the first day was ordered to be removed from office.
But in three days, he sent several telegrams to the Soviet Command, asking what to do, but the telegram from the Command just ordered him to wait patiently, and there was no further information. At this time, Chikayev was depressed, and his subordinates came in and hurriedly reported: "Report to Comrade General, the guards found a tank unit in the west, and were heading towards us along the railway line."
There is a division of Soviet troops in Khabarovsk, where the Far East Military Sub-district is located, and there is a regiment of aviation troops at the airport. In the past three days, Chinese reconnaissance planes have flew over the air, but Chikayev ordered the air force not to take off and provoke. He knew very well that any resistance would be devastating.
Chikayev first sent a telegram to the Irkusko Military Region, reporting in detail that the Chinese team was divided into four directions and approached the Soviet Union. Then he issued a correct order, ordering the periphery guards to shrink into the city. More than 100 tanks and other vehicles of the 1st Brigade of our 1st Tank Division came in a rush and stopped outside the city one after another.
The brigade commander came out of the tank car with a calm expression, then got on a jeep, and drove directly to the city. At a Soviet checkpoint, the brigade commander informed the Soviet sentry of his official title and unit number and said: "Immediately, I want to meet the Supreme Commander of the Soviet Army!"
After a while, in front of the Soviet commander's department in the city, the brigade commander got off the car and saw that the commander Chikayev led the generals to wait in front of the door. "Commander, I am the major general brigade commander of the 1st Brigade of the 1st Tank Division of the Chinese Armored Forces. I am ordered to take over the city. Please ask the commander to cooperate." After the brigade commander said that, he handed over the leaflets of relevant regulations written in Russian at the headquarters.
In fact, Chikayev had already understood the relevant regulations of our army on occupying the Far East, and now he was just confirming it again. After seeing the commander, the brigade commander added without any expression: "Order your troops to enter the barracks, and we will take over the defense of Khabarovsk. I can promise you to ensure that the Russian residents are not harassed, that all the economy will operate normally, and that your troops will not be confiscated. In addition, I will notify you that Commander Lin of the 3rd Corps of the Chinese Defense Forces will invite you to Jiamusi to discuss the aftermath!"
At this point, although Chikayev was reluctant and had no choice but to consider the face issue, he could not protest against the middle-level official with a low title. Although Chikayev was very angry, it was not easy to have anger.
After a while of silence, Chikayev accepted this fact helplessly. However, he repeatedly stated that consultations with China must be approved by the commander-in-chief and he will report to the higher authorities. An hour later, our tank troops began to enter the city, and a huge roar sounded on the streets in the city.
Perhaps it was the "tactic understanding" cooperation between the two sides, and an alternative landscape appeared in the city inadvertently. Tanks appeared at various intersections in the city, acting as temporary sentinels. It was indeed refreshing to keep watch. That night, the 2nd Tank Brigade successfully arrived in Khabarovsk. After several hours of rest, they advanced along the Almu River to the north to Gongqing City.
The next day, a fighter brigade of the Aircraft Division landed at Khabarovsk Airport. It was quite interesting. When my fighter landed, the Soviet command tower was actually responsible for commanding the landing. There were Soviet fighter jets on the airport. After our fighter jets landed, they mixed with Soviet fighter jets, as if they were fighting side by side. When the Soviet ground crew saw our advanced fighter jets, they felt that the performance of Soviet fighter jets was probably overwhelming. Compared with the two, they knew in their hearts that the performance of Soviet fighter jets was far inferior.
The northern Communist Qingcheng is currently under the jurisdiction of the Khabarovsk Krai region. In the 1930s, the Soviet government built many factories in the Khabarovsk region, the largest of which were the Sukhoi aircraft manufacturing plant and the shipyard. The railway between Khabarovsk and the Khabarovsk has been connected, because it should be said that the Khabarovsk is the northernmost railway endpoint in the Far East.
Gongqingcheng is 356 kilometers away from Khabarovsk. The Almu River connects two cities like a ribbon. It should be said that water transportation is very convenient in summer and is not inferior to railway transportation at all. Therefore, the water transportation between the two cities is very developed. The 2nd Tank Brigade is advancing along the wide and flat river of the Almu River facing the Gongqingcheng Expressway. The tracks are on the snow-covered ice surface, causing a strip-shaped snow fog, which looks very spectacular from a distance.
The river was covered with white snow and the shadows were flying at high speed. The shocking scene was almost like a nobody. The next day, around 10 a.m., on the side of the pier of Gongqingcheng, a large number of Soviet soldiers with guns and ammunition gathered on the pier, but more were Soviet residents, including many workers wearing cotton work clothes and work pants. Obviously, they ran out of the factory to watch.
The local Soviet government has issued a message and informed the Soviet army that it would not resist and that the war would not break out. It also said that the government was mediating. While the ** team invaded during the protest, China and the Soviet Union tried to resolve the dispute politically. Tank tanks rumbled on the river surface in front of the dock. After a while, the brigade commander of the 2nd Tank Brigade climbed out of the tank car...
The negotiations between the two sides went smoothly, and our army quickly took over the defense of Gongqingcheng. About afternoon, the Tank Brigade dispatched a regiment to continue moving forward. They were going to advance along the Amur River to the entrance of Nikolayevsk, the Miao Street. To the east is the Tatar Strait, and Sakhalin Island is across the sea from it.
The Chinese government suddenly sent troops to the Far East and western regions. Stalin hoped for support from the world media, but despite the heavy thunder and rain, it was very small. The US government stated that both sides should restrain themselves and hoped to resolve the territorial dispute between the two countries in politics. The British government was incomprehensible to China's dispatch of troops, but the French fugitive government was strongly reflected. General Charles de Gaulle supported the Soviet Union, strongly condemned China's aggression, and described China as a new imperialist nouveau riche.
Perhaps it was a bit funny, but the German government and the Japanese government were extremely excited. In view of its increasing difficulties, the German government proposed a ceasefire with the Soviet Union and started negotiations. The Japanese government firmly stood firm on the Soviet side and shamelessly proposed to fight back with the Soviet army. It was a bit chaotic. Stalin was very depressed in the face of this situation.
In fact, the Soviet Union's reputation in the world itself is very bad. The Soviet army sent troops to invade Poland, and the war broke out over the territorial issues. The Soviet government's reputation in the world has long declined, so few countries can truly stand on the side of the Soviet Union. Now the counterattack against the German army is at a critical moment, and the German army must not breathe. Stalin judged the situation and immediately sent a telegram to the Soviet ambassador to China to formally negotiate with the Chinese government. Stalin instructed the Soviet army in the Far East to withdraw and enter the western counterattack. As for the Far East, it is required to temporarily maintain the status quo, which is to acquiesce the military occupation of the Chinese team.
On the morning of January 20, Chongqing Ministry of National Defense, Mu Yaping said to En: "The Soviet ambassador proposed emergency consultations, and it seems Stalin was anxious. I didn't expect Germany and Japan to perform like this. This is something that the Soviets could not bear." Enlai asked: "Mr. Mu, the bottom line of our consultation will not change!"
Mu Yaping smiled and said, "Why are we pretentious about the Soviets so conscious of the current affairs? Since the purpose of military occupation has been achieved, we will open the door. The formal negotiations between the two countries can be put on hold. Given that it is a special situation, the supplies provided by the Soviet army in the Far East to the front line are still operated by the Soviet government alone. We do not interfere. The existing factories and railway transportation are still managed by the Soviets, but the premise is that the three-year period is excessive, and we only occupy military operations during this period."
Mu Yaping continued: "There is only one thing that is not ambiguous. It requires the Soviet army to withdraw all the Far East. The Soviet Pacific Fleet can be extended for two years." Then Mu Yaping said to Chiang Kai-shek: "President, we cannot be idle when we occupy the Far East through military occupation. This summer, the government will organize immigration to the Far East. Any areas in the country that are not suitable for human habitation can be considered for priority immigration. The government should provide assistance in this regard."
Lao Jiang smiled and said, "I personally arranged immigration, and whether business personnel and industrialists were encouraged to invest in the Far East." Mu Yaping smiled and said, "The government encourages immigration, which is actually a signal that profit-seeking businessmen and industrialists will rush to the forefront. We don't have to worry about this. We only provide loose relevant laws and policies immediately."
Everyone nodded in appreciation and started to discuss together.
