Chapter 34: Book publishing

Yan Bin spent a month writing the book "Qimin Yaoshu", which stolen the title of the book of later generations. Of course, this is not a book about agricultural technology, but a book about sociology.

At the beginning of the book, Yan Bin clearly proposed the "scholars, peasants, industry and commerce" mentioned by Confucius. Then Yan Bin briefly talked about the continuous evolution of human beings from backwardness to progress, ignorance to civilization. Of course, Yan Bin did not bring out the "evolution theory" that Darwin's man evolved from ape man. Instead, he talked about the battle between Huangdi and Yandi's tribes in ancient times to merger to the battle with the Chiyou tribe, until Dayu's son established the first dynasty, the Xia Dynasty. He also analyzed logically that in ancient times, small tribes could be self-sufficient. However, with the establishment of the country, the social division of labor became more and more detailed. It is inferred that the future social division of labor would be more detailed.

In the second part of the book, Yan Bin listed the number and classification comparisons of officials from various countries during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Three Dukes and Nine Ministers, Civil and Military officials of the current Han Dynasty, and used facts to show that the current court officials were far more numerous than those of ancient officials. Then Yan Bin explained that the current farmers were also more classified than those of ancient times, such as herders, fishermen, and workers were also classified as carpenters, stonemasons, blacksmiths, miners, etc. Merchants were not only divided into merchants and businessmen, but also subdivided into a variety of types such as food, clothing, housing and transportation. Not only that, there are also doctors, entertainers, professional soldiers, etc.

The third part is the focus of the whole book. In the book, Yan Bin first briefly analyzed the characteristics of various professions, and then turned the pen and Yan Bin asked in the form of a rhetorical question: If there were no herders, could we have meat to eat? What should we do if we get sick without doctors? Without soldiers, who will protect us from barbarians and robbers? And so on. So the conclusion is that as Zhuangzi's "Qiwu Lun" said, the nature of things is in harmony. Without that profession in society, civilization will be regressed a lot, and even the destruction of civilization. Therefore, no scholar will be cured.

No farming is unstable, no work is strong, no business is rich, no soldier is uneasy. But what does Confucius mean to propose "scholars, farmers, industry and commerce"? If the people are really divided into 3, 6, 9, isn't it contrary to Confucius' "Great Harmony" idea? Besides, Confucius also said "there is no difference in education". Therefore, Yan Bin's final conclusion was that Confucius only made a rough distinction between various professions, rather than distinguishing people from high and low. From the perspective of "there is no difference in education", Confucius only divided people into two categories, one is civilized and the other is barbaric.

At the end of the book, Yan Bin described that there are talents in each profession. No matter which talent, the more talents, the better. Yan Bin also stole Gong Zizhen's poem "The nine provinces are angry and rely on the wind and thunder, and thousands of horses are silenced. I advise the heavens to shake themselves up and surrender talents without any restrictions. To end the book.

After the book of nearly 100,000 words was published, Yan Bin's name once again attracted the attention of the world. Some were praised, some criticized, and many people scolded Yan Bin for rebelling against the scriptures and forgetting his ancestors. Many people from poor families were running around to sway flags and shouting for Yan Bin. When this book was circulated into the palace and was seen by Emperor Ling, Emperor Ling couldn't help but applaud. In Emperor Ling's heart, he always had the complex of being a big businessman, but at that time the social status of merchants was very low.

No matter how rich he is, he cannot wear silk and satin in public. He must also be servile to the smallest official in the government. Nowadays, Emperor Ling is not only a big businessman, but also the owner of the largest furniture factory in the Han Dynasty. So how can Yan Bin not make Emperor Ling happy when he wrote books on equality among the people and improving the status of a businessman? Moreover, the writing style of this book is wonderful, rigorous in logic, and impeccable. Emperor Ling issued an order to commend Yan Bin, and ordered the book "Qi Min Yaoshu" to be listed as a must-read book for students of Tai.

Fortunately, Yan Bin once wrote a letter to Emperor Ling to lift the party shackles, so scholars all over the world commented on "Qimin Yaoshu" on a case-by-case basis, and no one personally attacked Yan Bin. Except for the powerful and powerful families who verbally criticized Yan Bin, Yan Bin's reputation was greatly improved. Yan Bin also began to gradually get rid of the reputation of a child prodigy and had a tendency to change into the role of the founder of an academic sect.
