Section 54 Secret Letter

Section 54 Secret Letter

His Excellency Beller:

Thanks to your trust, I entrusted my investigation into the vampire rebellion in Sivania. Half a year has passed. Although I have learned some of my achievements during this period, I have many mistakes. Today, it seems that this is really a misleading situation, and I am really frightened.

As I said in my last report to you, the rebels in Sivania were not so incited by vampires by coercion and inducement, but rather by local lords. The vampire Ashurufate - who calls himself the Duke of Blood - now seems to be an extremely cunning and patient guy. He originally had the power to conquer the entire Sivania, but he did not release it. Instead, he slowly assembled his subordinates, infiltrated all over the place, and waited for a favorable opportunity.

His harassment and war against various cities before, although it seemed to be a foolish action from a military perspective (as you said, without achieving the results, it exposed its own strength and attracted the attention of the enemy), now it seems to have its meaning behind it. That is, through this series of seemingly useless actions, it can only lead to greater dangers. The Blood Duke patiently waits for people to get used to his existence. It is easy to understand that when an alien, especially a terrible creature like a vampire, suddenly appears, it is difficult for humans to accept its existence, except for a very small number of people.

The family must have a strong hostility towards him, let alone willing to obey his rule. But through a series of actions and patient waiting, the Sivania region has known the existence of vampires and his style of conduct, which greatly reduces the resistance of ordinary people. In the Meno region, people are even willing to obey vampires because vampires can help them get rid of the rule of the brutal lord. Since they must be ruled by a tyrant, a vampire who only eats one person at a time is better than the Kasek who collects taxes twenty years later.

In this regard, the top leaders of the two countries have really helped the vampires. The three lords of Sivania are a group of unscrupulous gangsters, human traffickers and speculators. I believe you have heard of the inside story in the church excavation site that is unknown to ordinary people. It was with their help that the vampire accomplished an impossible thing - without the help of the black magicians or even without the help of themselves, they successfully relied on several capable subordinates to gather a human servant unit and consolidated the foundation of their own rule.

I have repeatedly confirmed this. I have contacted multiple members of the rebels in various ways, and most of them have never seen the vampire before the official war began. It was based on this point that I questioned the existence of the vampire itself. However, the facts now prove that this is just that the vampire's cunning has surpassed my imagination.

Now I will describe the details of this brief war of conquest here. This wave of vampires began with the great escape of the excavator. The details of the details were explained to you in the last letter (I also regarded this operation as an incomprehensible stupid action like a series of harassment operations earlier), because this operation had no obvious benefit except erecting a powerful enemy for itself. The rebels had never attacked the excavator before, and the church was happy to ignore the external situation.

As it turns out, this action itself is just a bold temptation. It was the success of this action that allowed the vampire to determine the defensive power of the excavator. Another benefit of this action was that the excavator underestimated the power of the vampire. They believed that the strength of the rebels was to engage in destruction and guerrilla levels, and as long as the defense and posts were strengthened, it was enough to resist the rebels' attacks.

In short, after this operation, the vampire had completely judged the real power of all forces and was ready for a large-scale operation. After further preparation, the vampire immediately began to attack Meno. A vampire's subordinate pretended to surrender to Kasek and brought Meno's army to the rebel camp. This scam was difficult to expose, because the information provided by the spy was real - except for one thing, that is, he claimed that the vampire itself did not exist, and the entire rebel was a scam. The rebels had very few troops at the moment.

The Meno people were fooled, and half of the soldiers in the city were sent to destroy the rebels. When the soldiers came to the vampire camp, they were facing less than half of their own rebels - and more than twice their own powerful undead creatures (as far as I know, vampires call them guards of the desolate graves). Under the front and back attacks, only a few soldiers fled the massacre.

Immediately afterwards, the vampire led the undead cavalry riding a skeleton war horse toward Meno City. A group of spies who had long been mingling in the city to serve their immortal masters took advantage of the situation to kill the guards and opened the city gate. The battle was no surprise. Soon, the remaining defenders were defeated in surprise. Meno's lord, Earl of Kasek, was killed by vampires.

After a slight rectification, the vampire immediately launched an attack on the excavation site. This was a carefully organized sneak attack. Taking advantage of the great opportunity when the senior personnel left and the defenders were slacking off, the vampire used his powerful black magic power to awaken the corpses in the cemetery inside the excavation site. The huge zombie army appeared from the inside, making all defense measures against external attacks useless. The vampire crushed all the resistance in the excavation site in just one night, turning the largest unit in the Sivania region into history.

There is not much to describe in the next battle. I believe that the general had heard of it before receiving this letter. The vampire method was simple and effective. Before he launched the war, he killed the remaining two lords by poisoning and assassination, causing the morale of the defenders to be in chaos when they lost their command. In Istria's defenders, several officers under the royal family finally came forward to organize resistance and got a decent opportunity to retreat. The defenders of Via completely lost control and finally had to choose to surrender.

General, I have to say that if there is anything to be thankful for in this war of conquest, there are only two points. The first is that the civilians have received less impact in the war. This war cannot be understood as a cruel revenge by vampires on humanity. Judging from various obvious signs, the Blood Duke Ashu Rufate indeed intends to rule here. The Second is that the prisoners of the war were not executed. The Blood Duke seems to have a little aristocratic consciousness. I believe that he will turn the prisoners into slaves for his own driving according to the customs of war.

I tried to contact the remaining soldiers. According to past experience, the bravest of them might be able to organize guerrilla troops to resist. But unfortunately, most locals are afraid of the severe punishment of vampires, and they are everywhere saying that the Blood Duke has a strange power to directly peek into the hearts of human beings. This makes the residents afraid to accommodate and help these resisters. Now, Sivania has no power to resist vampires.

As for the vampire army, the situation is quite bad. According to my own judgment and the information I collected everywhere, the total number of vampire's undead legions is about 100,000, and a large number of necromancers are at the same time.

Although I don’t know much about black magic, it is said that when the vampire releases all his power to the night sky, it is like igniting a bright light with black magic. All the black magic practitioners in the Sivania area are feeling it. The black magicians scattered from all over the world gathered under the vampire like flies stinking. They soon reached a deal with the vampire and used their own power to serve the vampire in exchange for more dark knowledge.

Although these black magicians may not be as good as Kalean in terms of simple quantity and strength, they have made great progress in creativity. In the undead legion of vampires, in addition to the skeletons and zombies commonly found in Kalean, there are also some unheard of terrible monsters.

I have observed the kind of undead monster called the corpse monster at close range (the vampires call the corpse monster's infantry guards and the cavalry is called the black knights). It is said that these undead creatures are quick and difficult to destroy, and are incomparable to ordinary skeletons. They should be the nobles of the ancient kingdoms in the Sivania region. Vampires disturbed their sleep and awakened and enslaved these ancient warriors. Tombs left over from such ancient kingdoms can be found everywhere in Sivania, so I expect that as time goes by, the number of these powerful undead creatures will further increase.

I also saw some disgusting cars in the slowly moving undead legion from afar. This was another creation brought by the Black Magician for their vampire masters. These cars looked like rotten wood, rusty metal, and sick corpses, and I dare not approach them, but it is said that the claws stretched out from the gaps of these large vehicles would seize anyone who dared to approach it. Some people said that these corpse carts were like a magnet that attracted black magic, which could absorb the energy of black magic from the ground and the air and handed over to the controller for use. Some corpse carts hung a large bell, and it was rumored that when the bell was ringed, the black magic would be released around the center with the corpse cart, and the dead would gather and stagger along with the corpse cart.

In addition, I also saw some giant wolf called "Dire Wolves". They were originally a kind of wild beast here, but now they serve vampires as undead creatures. Their eyes were constantly flowing with unclean energy. Part of the bodies of these resurrected wolf bodies has rotted. Their fur is mottled with blood and stains. Their bodies emit rotten odor. The burnt fur hangs upside down on their bodies, and bones are exposed from the wounds. During this period, wriggling maggots can be seen from time to time. Everyone says that these wolves are vampire hunting dogs, and they use their keen sense of smell to chase the vampires. I have never seen their battle scenes, but they are very fast. I believe that even if they are not as good as heavy knights in battle, they are enough to compete with the light cavalry, and even brave warriors will feel terrified under their long howls.

I heard from passers-by that ghouls have also been used by the Blood Duke. The Via area was originally a place where ghouls appeared. When the Blood Duke marched towards Via, he summoned the ghouls. So these monsters swarmed out from their hiding places and joined the vampire army. I believe this rumor is credible, but I have not witnessed the filthy and evil monsters in groups.

In addition to these tangible undead creatures, I also saw some monsters without entities. They were souls without bodies and exposed in the air. The first time I saw this type of monster, they looked like a fog with a mourning face, with claws tightly clenched, and kept wailing and rolling. Since there was no physical form, I was sure that weapons were ineffective against these monsters. However, their specific source was unknown, and I didn't even know whether this kind of creature without entities was one or many. I can only be sure that the vampire and his minions could summon these special souls through some evil magic and would force them to serve their own army.

The latest information I have received above. I must warn you: The Blood Duke is much stronger than anyone expected.
