During the reign of Emperor Xuan of Han, Huhanye Shanyu was forced by his brother Zhizhi Shanyu and led his troops to move south to the Han Dynasty and was called the Southern Xiongnu. Zhizhi Shanyu occupied the Xiongnu royal court and was hostile to it, and was called the Northern Xiongnu.

The once powerful Huns split into two parts, north and south, attacking each other, and gradually declined.

Zhizhi Chanyu defeated Dayuan, Wusun and other countries, forced the countries to pay tribute, and shocked the Western Regions, giving the Huns a momentum of revival. However, he was immediately attacked by the Han Expeditionary Force led by Chen Tang and Gan Yanshou, and lost his life and became the first Xiongnu Chanyu to hang Chang'an, which made Chen Tang famous throughout the ages.

Chen Tang left the strongest voice of the Han Dynasty, "Those who violate the powerful Han Dynasty will be punished even if they are far away", which has echoed for thousands of years.

Huhanye Shanyu, who defected to the Han Dynasty, entered the court during the reign of Emperor Yuan of Han, married the palace queen Zhaojun and returned, calling him Ninghu Yan clan. With the light of Zhaojun going out of the frontier, he became one of the most well-known Hun Khan in China.

When Huhanye Shanyu died, he left his last words and asked his sons to become Shanyu in turn. This is a very strange last words because he had twenty-nine sons.

At the beginning, his sons were very obedient and followed this last words. The Shanyu position was passed from the second son (the eldest son died early) to the ninth son Yu, which is the current one: "Hudu and the corpse dou Gaoruoyi" Shanyu, abbreviated as Duluozi Shanyu.

Hudu Ersi Shanyu tasted the sweetness of being a Shanyu, and wanted to change the order of inheritance of the Shanyu, and no longer wanted to pass it on to his brothers. He appointed his son Wuda Duo Hou as the Zuo Xian King, as the heir of the Shanyu, and found an excuse to kill his next brother who should have been the Shanyu, Huhanye Shanyu's 20th son, namely Wang Zhaojun's son Yitu Zhiyashi.

It would take enough life to be a Shanyu. Perhaps the rest of his brothers were killed by this long waiting process. As soon as Yitu Zhiyashi died, Hudu and Shi Shanyu had no other brother. He thought that the obstacles to the death of the father and the succession of the son had been cleared.

As it turns out, this idea is a bit too naive, because his brothers who have worked as Shanyu also have sons, so his nephews are naturally dissatisfied, and You Ouo Rizhu Wangbi is one of them.

King Rizhu was dissatisfied with Hudu and the sect Shanyu's behavior of killing his brothers. He said: "If the Shanyu's position was successively followed by brothers, it should be inherited by King Youguli (i.e. Yitu Zhiyashi). If father and son succeed, I was the eldest son of the former Shanyu, and I should have become Shanyu long ago."

When Hudu Ersi Shanyu heard about this, he naturally regarded him as a thorn in his eyes and sent two marquises to monitor King Rizhu. The conflict between King Rizhu and the Shanyu became increasingly public.

Hudu Ersi Shanyu supported Lu Fang to dominate the border counties in the northern Han Dynasty, and planned to make him the emperor to split the Han Dynasty and make profits from it. Unexpectedly, Lu Fang was not successful and soon she was wiped out by Liu Yu and fled into the desert, with life and death unknown.

Liu Yu's strong rise broke Hudu and Si Shanyu's wishful thinking and aroused his vigilance. In order not to make him too strong and to maintain a situation of melee between the Central Plains, Hudu and Si Shanyu ordered Rizhi to enter the border county and threaten Liu Yu, so that he could not gain a foothold in the border county and continue to keep the northern counties independent of the Han Dynasty.

King Rizhu estimated his strength and felt that he could not turn against the Shanyu. In addition, he also had the real need to enter the Fortress and plunder, so he carried out the order of Huduerzi Shanyu, led his troops to break the Rooster Crown and enter Shuofang.

When the Huns first arrived, except for the Shanyu, they were the Zuo Xianwang, the Zuo Guli King, the You Xianwang, and the You Guli King, and they were also called the "Seijiao King". Emperor Wu of Han placed the surrendered Xiongnu in eight counties on the border, retaining their tribal structure, and still being autonomous, and called the vassal state. At the end of the New Year, war broke out again on the border of the Han and Xiongnu, and these vassal states quickly re-entered the embrace of the Xiongnu and became the vanguard of the Xiongnu cavalry to attack the Han area. In order to facilitate management, Hudu and the Si Shanyu set up eight masters here, and Rizhu King Bi was their general leader. This was the first time that the Huns changed the pattern of the separation of powers of the left, middle and right, and changed into the four left, middle, right and south.

As the king second only to Shanyu and Sijiao King, King Rizhu commanded the eight Xiongnus and was very powerful. This time he entered the subway and led 20,000 troops, and the two Gudu Marquis who were ordered by Shanyu to monitor him, each leading an army of 5,000, and three of them combined 30,000 troops to rage in Shuofang County.

The Huns entered Jilusai from west to east, and faced him was the western commander's capital, Guanhun County. The western commander and Tian Sa were not the same as each other and wanted to surrender to Emperor Jianshi. The emperor happened to enter Shuofang City, so he ran to Shuofang to meet him, but he was not in the capital at this time.

However, there were 5,000 troops from the Western Commander's Army in Jinhun County. Although this army did not dare to go out of the city to fight against the Huns, it held the city and refused to surrender. King Rizhu attacked for two days and could not break the city, so he abandoned Guanhun County, leaving behind the Right Gudu Marquis sent by Shanyu and the left general under his command, each leading an army of 5,000, a total of 10,000 people to monitor Guanhun County, so as not to prevent the Western Commander's Army from recapturing Jilusai and cutting off his retreat.

King Rizhu himself and Zuo Guduhou led his army to continue to advance eastward, easily breaking Woye County, and plundered for several days, and obtained money and food from a county.

After that, the Huns faced a choice of direction.

To the south is a long and narrow passage between two deserts. Linrong City is located across the road. If Linrong passes, there will be another fertile land and two county towns to plunder.

King Rizhu thought that his journey was long and was afraid that he would not be able to retreat to the outside of the border in time, so he intended to go north. Go north was a fertile area along the river. It was not only full of oil and water, but also much closer to Jilu Pass than the south. There was another channel for outbound to Gaoque Pass nearby. Once the situation was not good, you could break the Gaoque Pass at any time to retreat to the outside of the border.

The Zuo Gudu Hou rarely agrees with King Rizhu. The two hit it off and joined forces to the north, breaking another city, repairing the troops, and plundering for three days.

Rizhu Wang said: "I will send 30,000 troops in total, and I will plunder three cities and return." I wanted to go north to plunder Linhe, and then go out of Gaoque Pass along the way.

The Left Gudu Hou was ordered by Shanyu to encourage King Rizhu to go eastward to the river, and head straight to Shuofang City, and fight with the young emperor Liu Yu. If he could win, there would be no peace in the northern border counties of the Han Dynasty. If he failed, it would also weaken King Rizhu's power, which would help the Chanyu annex the eight Huns.

He said: "Shuofang City is the county seat, and its prosperity is much better than that of other cities. If you can plunder Shuofang City and return, this trip will be worthy of entering the border."

Ri Zhuwang said: "Shuofang City is tight, which is not comparable to that of Guanhun County. Guanhun cannot be broken, let alone Shuofang City?"

Zuo Gudu Hou said: "Here we go east, we will pass several cities all the way, and it is richer than fertile fields. If we can get rid of it all the way, let alone this winter, we will not have to worry about next winter."
