145. Youzhou Tuqi

Ren Shang placed 25,000 infantry in the middle, and 5,000 cavalry were placed on both sides. The infantry and cavalry jointly advanced forward.

The Hebei Army generals outside the West City were Pi Tong and Wang Ba, both of whom were among the twenty-eight generals of Yuntai. Wang Ba was one of the thirteen people who followed Liu Xiu in Kunyang, and one of the most loyal younger brothers who had always followed him.

Pi Tong was the prefect of Hecheng County, Jizhou. He surrendered when Liu Xiu was patrolling Hebei. He was not good at fighting formations and did not appear in history books. The most famous record was that after Wang Lang's reign as emperor, Liu Xiu was chased and killed so much that he wanted to withdraw from Hebei and return to Chang'an. Pi Tong stood up and opened his mouth and changed his mind, insisting on staying in Hebei, and since then he started the journey of an emperor like a cheat. Therefore, some people say that without Pi Tong, there would be no Emperor Guangwu of Han, nor the Eastern Han Dynasty.

A Hebei Han army set up a formation a few miles west of the city, but did not approach it. It only faced Ren Shangjun from afar. It didn't look many soldiers and horses, only ten thousand to twenty thousand. There were sharp eyes and saw the word "Pi" written on the flag opposite.

When Ren Shang saw him, he knew that it was Pi Tong's leadership, so he urged his troops to advance. Although he was young and energetic, he was often in battle and experienced in the battlefield, so he was not reckless in the battle. He looked at the flag opposite and said, "The pseudo-Han army has distinctive flag armor. Although there are few soldiers, he cannot underestimate the enemy."

Ren Shang sent out a sentry detective to reconnaissance everywhere so that he could grasp the battlefield situation at any time. After all, Luoyang is surrounded by enemy troops, and a third force may appear at any time.

The armies of both sides slowly approached and began to engage in local battles. The Han army in Hebei began to retreat.

Ren Shang was very radical when he asked for war, but he was very cautious when using troops. Seeing that the enemy's flags were not chaotic and the team did not disperse, he was afraid that they would have ambushed and did not force them too much. He only kept a set distance from the enemy and slowly pushed them over there.

The two armies, one in front and one behind, were fighting and walking, and they all seemed very polite. Tens of thousands of people had been tossing for nearly an hour, but not many people died in total, and the casualties between the two sides were almost negligible.

After chasing forward for a few more miles, Ren Shang ordered the attack to stop. Now he is more than a dozen miles away from Luoyang City, which is the longest distance that Luoyang defenders have attacked during this siege.

Ren Shang felt that the other party might have led him away from the city or had some ambush, because at least one army of Wang Ba in the west of the city had not appeared, which made him feel a little uneasy.

The Pi Tongjun on the opposite side suddenly stopped, rectified the queue, turned around and forced Ren Shangjun.

At the same time, another army appeared on the right side of Pi Tong's army, with more than 10,000 people. According to the scout, it was said that it was the general and the king's domineering troops.

Pi Tong and Wang Ba were united in one place, with a force of equal strength to Ren Shang's army, and perhaps even more. Wang Ba's army directly pressed up, and Pi Tong's army no longer retreated, and then returned to fight back.

Ren Shangxin said: "Pi Tong has been retreating and refused to fight. It turned out that he realized that he had few soldiers and had to wait for the Wang Ba Army to attack. Now that the two armies have joined forces, they are finally willing to fight head-on!"

He was calm and unafraid, but he was a little excited. His 30,000 troops were the elite of Luoyang City, and his combat power was much stronger than other troops. Therefore, although he had no advantage in terms of numbers, Ren Shang was not afraid at all. He was confident that he could defeat the enemy with the same force.

The two sides finally launched a full-scale battle. Ren Shang took the 5,000 elite infantry directly under him as the main force, with a total of 10,000 people, and pressed against Pi Tong's army on the right.

He expected that Pi Tong's army would lose its physical strength after walking for a while, and they stopped in the process of retreating and turned around to fight. The array was not so strong and neat, and it should be easier to deal with than the Wangba Army who had just joined the battlefield.

It should be said that this judgment is accurate. Five thousand elite infantry rushed forward, and the opponent immediately struggled, and the front line was pressed back.

Wang Bajun rushed over from the other side and quickly attacked Ren Shangjun's left defense line, and the two sides fought hard.

At this time, the entire array showed an irregular diagonal line. The Luoyang Army's right wing broke out, but the left wing was relatively backward. Ren Shang was on a Gaogang. Seeing Wang Ba's flag moving forward little by little, he was in a strong momentum, so he ordered the cavalry to be put into the battlefield and attack the flanks of Wang Ba's army, trying to cut it off, and at least he could annihilate some of his troops.

Five thousand cavalry accounts for almost half of the entire Luoyang City cavalry. Zhu Yu gave all these to Ren Shang, which shows that he also attached great importance to this battle.

The cavalry were divided into two groups, and they formed a large circle from afar, rushing into both sides of the Wangba Army. The opponent's battle formation was beginning to break, and it turned out that there were dissonant colors in the blurred team, as if paint was poured onto the canvas and splashed everywhere.

The King's Army began to shrink and gather, wanting to lean closer together, eliminate these invading cavalry, or squeeze out.

Ren Shang looked at him from afar, his heart pounding, and he felt that he was getting closer and closer to victory. This was his first time to command such a large-scale battle. He was so cautious, but he was so eager to win. Perhaps the winner's crown would fall on him, and perhaps he could not be saved by others, and Ren Shang would become the savior of Luoyang City.

At this time, a strange sound suddenly appeared on the battlefield. It was a little dull at first, but then it gradually became bigger, filling everyone's ear drums. The whole earth seemed to be shaking. The trees beside Ren Shang were trembling and the leaves fell.

A scout rode a fast horse up the hillside and shouted from a distance: "Capital, there is an enemy! Cavalry! Youzhou cavalry!"

Youzhou thunder cavalry!

The legendary strongest cavalry in the world had appeared on the south side of the battlefield at this time. It was a dark area, like a dark cloud, quickly approaching from the horizon, carrying the breath of the storm before it came.

Ren Shang suddenly felt his breathing stagnant, and the excitement he had just now disappeared. He only felt that his heart was sinking rapidly, as if it could not fall to the bottom, and it continued to sink.

"Hurry up, on the reserve team, the whole army will face the enemy!" Ren Shang played the last card and threw all the remaining forces into the battlefield.

He looked anxiously at the battlefield south.

Although the Luoyang cavalry destroyed the formation of the Wangba Army, the final victory had not been determined. The Wangba Army was constantly shrinking, trying to trap the cavalry in the formation with the advantage of numerical power and wipe it out separately. At the cost of this shrinking of combat power on the front line, Ren Shang's infantry took the opportunity to gain an advantage and continued to advance.

If there were no Youzhou Tuqi, maybe this would be a big victory.

But the fact is that there is no if on the battlefield, and the Youzhou Tukha suddenly appeared like its name.

There are only thousands of cavalrymen, and their numbers may not be as large as those of Luoyang cavalry, but that momentum seems to be able to destroy all enemies blocking the way.

No, it's not as if it's true.
