Chapter 379 Cai Que was severely punished for his poetry

Many people dissuaded Fan Zuyu and should not submit it. Fan Zuyu refused to give up the promise and still submitted it. The court did not make things difficult for him and gave it to Fu Bi as the Taiwei and posthumously Wenzhong. Fan Zuyu's courtesy name Chunfu was from Chengdu. He was born in the second year of Kangding in Renzong. When Fan Zuyu was born, his mother dreamed that "a great husband was put into the bedroom by golden armor and said, 'My Han general Deng Yu.'" Therefore, he named Fan Zuyu.

Fan Zuyu was an orphan since childhood. His uncle Fan Zhen treated him as his son. Fan Zuyu was still very sad because he was an orphan. Whenever others attended a festive banquet, he had a miserable face and a depressed mood. He studied behind closed doors all day and never interfered in personnel affairs. Later, he went to the capital Bianliang and came into contact with celebrities. His uncle Fan Zhen valued Fan Zuyu very much and said, "This is a scholar in the world."

During the Jiayou period, Fan Zuyu passed the Jinshi First Class. Sima Guang compiled "Zizhi Tongjian", and Fan Zuyu was responsible for writing part of the Tang Dynasty. In the fifteenth year of his time in Luoyang, he devoted himself to writing "Zizhi Tongjian" and was not enterprising. Sima Guang praised him for being "intelligent and sharp, but gentle in nature, as if he could not speak; he was studious and could not speak, as if he was humble and not criticized, as if he had nothing; he was upright in ethics and was not exposed, as if he was not as good as having clothes, and he was a gentleman."

After the completion of "Zizhi Tongjian", Sima Guang recommended Fan Zuyu as the secretary general. At that time, Wang Anshi was in charge of the government affairs, and he also valued Fan Zuyu very much. Wang Anshi's younger brother Wang Anguo was very friendly with Fan Zuyu and once signaled Fan Zuyu to visit Wang Anshi. However, Fan Zuyu was not moved by fame and fortune and did not visit him. After Fu Bi retired, he lived in Luoyang and rarely contacted others, except for Fan Zuyu.

After the death of Emperor Shenzong, Zhao Xu succeeded to the throne and Fan Zuyu was promoted to Youzhengyan. Lu Gongzhu was in charge of the government affairs, and Fan Zuyu was Lu Gongzhu's son-in-law. So he avoided suspicion and resigned and was appointed as the Minister of the Temple Department. Soon, he served as the Bookman, compiled the review of "The Records of Emperor Shenzong", and was transferred to the Bookman and the lecturer.

Zhao Xu suspended his lectures because of the heat of summer. Fan Zuyu submitted a memorial: "Your Majesty will study today and not learn it, and it will be a matter of chaotic governance in the future. If you like learning, you will be admired by gentlemen in the world and be willing to stand in court, serve Your Majesty with straightforward ways, assist your morals and careers, and achieve peace; if you don't learn, the villain will all move their hearts, be sure to be evil and flatter to steal wealth and honor." It is recommended that Zhao Xu resume his lectures.

When a flood broke out in Wuzhong, Zhao Xu issued an edict to take out one million hu of rice and two hundred thousand yuan for relief. However, the censor said that the people who reported the disaster spread rumors and asked for inspection. Fan Zuyufeng also sent the censor the memorial and said, "The fundamentals of the country depend on the southeast. Now the people on one side shouted and complained, waiting for help to get rid of the urgent and urgent crisis. Although the disaster reported slightly exceeded the facts, they should be ignored and not questioned. If there is a little punishment, I am afraid no one will dare to say it in the future." Zhao Xu adopted his opinion.

He heard that the palace wanted to use a wet nurse, so he immediately consulted with the left counselor Liu Anshi and submitted a memorial to advise, believing that "the emperor is fourteen years old and should not be close to the beauty, but should be more virtuous and loving." He also asked Empress Dowager Gao to take care of the emperor's health. Empress Dowager Gao summoned him to see him and said, "This is a rumor outside and is not trustworthy." Fan Zuyu said, "Although foreign discussions are false statements, they should be prevented. Many things are explained in advance, as if they are worried about nothing. When something happens, it is useless to say more. Your Majesty would rather accept advice in advance than let me regret it in the future." Empress Dowager Gao was very proud.

Soon, it was learned that Chen Caique, the Hanyang Army, went to the poem of Wu Chuhou, who was traveling to the cart and Gaiting Ting, intended to slander the court. It turned out that after Cai Que was demoted, he felt depressed. One day, he visited the cart and Gaiting Ting Ting, and the mountains and waters made him clear his depression, so he wrote in one breath

Ten quatrains have been given.

First, there are few guests in business, so there are no red-robed officials. There is no need to follow them. The stream and pool are straight up to the Xu Pavilion, and the poems of the Chaisang Masters are lying on display.

The second is: the paper screen, stone pillow, bamboo square bed, tired hands throw books, dreams of noon are long. When you fall asleep, you will laugh alone, and several fishing flutes are in the waves.

Third, the river is beautiful and sparsely covered with curtains, and the cool breeze is bent on all sides. The green field flows smoothly and the distance is far away, and the blue sky is white rain rises.

Fourth,: In tranquility, one is better than the flames, and one is not ashamed of the vulgarity. Where can one be afraid of the white birds? Who can be angry at the sword to chase the blue fly?

Fifth: When the wind shakes the fruit, the fruit falls, and the raindrops leave the flowers and fragrance. The yellow mouth comes out of the bottom of the leaves, and the small fish are busy in the waves.

Sixth: Come to the beautiful house and face the green light, hold a glass of wine to face the clear sun. The water passes by leisurely, and the clouds embrace the western mountain and fly slowly.

Seventh: There are shipmen in the stream, and there are no ones wearing calfs on the stream. They are sick and sit and whistle, and white gulls and red cranes accompany them in their spare time.

Eight: The noise is vast and the moon is vast and there is no water, and when you walk, you can see the frozen rain on the sandbank. What is the best way to get a stream? The vast sea will bring dust.

Nine: It seems that there is a pine jun in the west, and every day I see the color of the new. It is said that the stones by the rocks of peach blossoms were once a banished immortal.

Tenth: He corrected the famous minister Hao Zongshan, and was honest and honest in the Shangyuan period. There was nowhere to know when Diaotai Wu, and sighed that Si Gong looked down on the blue bay.

Wu Chuhou had old grudges with Cai Que, so he seized the opportunity and misinterpreted it at will, and submitted a report to the court, saying that Cai Que slandered the government affairs. Wu Chuhou specifically pointed out: The second song is not good-minded, "The court is now clear and clear, I don't know what Cai Que laughs about?" The fifth song is to satirize the court for launching new people, and he boasted that he was old-fashioned. The eighth song said that the country's destiny will undergo a major change; the ninth song is to be dissatisfied and believe that the court handled him unfairly. The tenth song is to slander the current empress dowager, comparable to Wu Zetian; it is to be dissatisfied and believe that the court handled him unfairly.

He believed that Cai was using the fact that Hao Chujun advised Emperor Gaozong of Tang to pass the throne to Wu Zetian during the Shangyuan period to criticize Empress Gao. There is a sentence in the poem "Accusing the famous minister Hao Zongshan, and honestly speaking and straightforwardly respecting the Shangyuan period". Hao Zongshan was a native of Anzhou and a loyal and straightforward person during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of Tang. Emperor Gaozong of Tang wanted to give up the throne to Empress Wu Zetian, but Hao Zongshan responded to oppose it. Wu Chuhou misinterpreted the poem and said that this place was to compare Empress Gao to Wu Zetian.

So Liang Tao, the left counselor, Fan Zuyu, the right counselor, Wu Anshi, the right counselor, Wang Yansou, and Liu Anshi, all submitted a request to punish Cai Que's crime. Fan Zuyu believed: "Cai Que's crime is not tolerated by the world, and he is still a noble minister, and he may not be impeached by the public's anger. I requested that he be punished with punishment and be given a re-exile."

The court issued an edict to let Cai Que explain himself, and Cai Que defended himself very clearly. Liu Anshi and others also said that Cai Que's crime was obvious and there was no need to defend himself, because there was a minister covering him. So Empress Dowager Gao demoted Cai Que to Guangluqing and was in charge of Yingtian Prefecture in Nanjing. After Cai Que was punished, the left counselor Liang Tao, the right counselor Wu Anshi, and the right counselor Liu Anshi believed that the punishment was lighter, and the censor Fu Yaoyu and the attendant censor Zhu Guangting also said this.

So Empress Dowager Gao demoted Cai Que to Yingzhou and settled in Xinzhou. In the past, Xinzhou was called "the most smoky and smoky", and was called "hell on earth". Lu Dafang and Liu Zhi said that Cai Que's mother was old and the mountains and roads in Lingnan were high and far, so it was not advisable to let her cross mountains and ridges, so she advocated moving to other places. Prime Minister Fan Chunren also said to Empress Dowager Gao: "The Holy Dynasty should be generous, not

We should ask for words and kill ministers. For example, if you treat a disease with strong medicine, you will damage your true essence, and you will also ask for detailed investigation!" Empress Dowager Gao said, "The mountains can be moved, but this state cannot be moved."

Fan Chunren said to Lu Dafang: "The road to Lingnan has been covered with thorns for seventy or eighty years. It has been reopened today. We may inevitably end up in the future." He also asked Zhezong to plead with Empress Dowager Gao, but Zhezong remained silent. Censors Li Chang, Sheng Tao, Zhai En, Zhao Tingzhi, and Wang Pengnian were dismissed from office because they did not submit memorials to impeach Cai Que. The Secretariat's son Peng Ruli was dismissed from office for refuting the edicts for handling Cai Que.

Liang Tao, the governor of Luzhou, was summoned to be promoted to the counselor. When he passed by Heyang, he met Xing Shu. Xing Shu was because Cai Que had made a contribution to the ritual. Liang Tao made an explanation when he entered the court. Liang Tao agreed and submitted a memorial according to Xing Shu's words. Empress Dowager Gao showed it to the ministers and said, "The emperor is the eldest son of the late emperor and deserves it. What kind of contribution to the ritual is like he deceived the emperor. If he can enter the court again in the future, he may be deceived by him and will suffer great harm. I don't want to say it clearly, so I expelled him in the name of a slander to eliminate future troubles. This matter is related to the national economy. Even though he is traitorous and slandered, I don't care."

In order to please Empress Dowager Gao, the censor Wu Anshi and others wrote a memorial to impeach Fan Chunren and Cai Que as a member of the party. Lu Dafang also said that Cai Que had many party members and was too powerful, so he must be ruled. Fan Chunren therefore sought to dismiss the government and became the governor of Yingzhou. Wang Cun, the left chief of the Shangshu, was originally recommended by Cai Que, so he was implicated and appointed as the governor of Caizhou. Hu Zongyu had already been impeached by the censor and was dismissed from the right chief of the Shangshu.

Empress Dowager Gao then promoted Liu Zhi to the Right Pushe of the Shangshu, and also the Minister of the Secretariat, Su Song to the Left Prime Minister, and Su Che to the Right Prime Minister. At this time, Zhao Zhan and Sun Gu died one after another. Empress Dowager Gao appointed Han Zhongyan as the head of the General Privy Council. Wang Yansou signed the letter to the Privy Council and summoned Deng Runfu to be the Hanlin Scholar to receive the order. Deng Runfu once relied on Wang Anshi and came out to govern Bozhou, Liang Tao, Liu Anshi, Zhu Guangting and others, so they impeached one after another, but they did not report it.

Liang Tao and others were dissatisfied and even asked for an external transfer. Empress Dowager Gao also released Liang Tao as the governor of Zhengzhou, Zhu Guangting as the governor of Bozhou, and Liu Anshi was promoted to Chongfu Palace. Wen Yanbo retired due to old age and illness. The right censor Yang Kangguo submitted a memorial to impeach Su Che's brothers' literary incorrectness. Jia Yi was also the Censor and the Chief Censor Zhao Junxi talked about Su Shi one after another. Su Shi went to govern Yingzhou and later changed Yangzhou. Jia Yi and Zhao Junxi were transferred together.

Liu Zhi has a straightforward personality and often has disputes with Lu Dafang. Yang Wei, the censor in the palace, had just relied on Lu Dafang, so he impeached Liu Zhi to form a clique for personal gain, contacted Wang Yansou, Liang Tao, Liu Anshi, Zhu Guangting and others for their death friends, coveted high positions, and had close contacts with Zhang Dun's sons and made friends with bandits.

Empress Dowager Gao hated Wang Anshi and other reformers the most, and immediately asked Liu Zhi in person. Liu Zhi left the court in fear and submitted a report to defend himself. Liang Tao, Wang Yansou and others also submitted a message to rescue him. Empress Dowager Gao was even more suspicious and transferred Liu Zhi to the governor of Yunzhou, and Wang Yansou was also appointed as governor of Zhengzhou. Empress Dowager Gao summoned Cheng Yi to the Zhi Secret Pavilion and was also sentenced to the Imperial College of Xijing, but was dissuaded by Su Che, so Cheng Yi refused.
