[Notes on the creation of my urban novels]

·

(I explained first that I wrote this myself and didn't plan to post it. I'm posting it here now, just to get some words to count it out for the new book, haha~

The following views represent me only.)

·

There is such a question that many readers have asked me.

"Dancing, which one of the books you wrote yourself is your favorite?"

Every time I see this question, I think of a very pretentious answer: the next book.

That's how the football king Pele answered back then. Others asked him what was the most exciting one. His answer was: Next.

I always thought Bailey's answer was hypocritical, and I never like Bailey. He is too sleek.

I like Maradona, he is the real king of football in my heart because of his true nature.

So, when I faced this question, I didn't use the answer that was actually hypocritical.

I thought about it and the answer should be this: my favorite is "Hippie Smiley", then "Evil" and finally "The City in Yu".

Then many people who asked me wouldn't help asking more: Ah? Do you don't like the magic law? The magic law is the most popular book you have now. Click on the Internet, and you have traditional Chinese books, simplified Chinese books, and online games are adapted...

At this time, I will probably say hypocritically: I like it too. Haha--Look, I also have hypocritical times. (In fact, in my heart, the works I like most are often not the most famous one.)

In fact, the real reason is: I like the novels about "urban themes" the most, so the three books I listed are also the modern urban themes I wrote.

Hippie smile is an early pure urban emotion, which is the highest book I have written in terms of writing standards. It is also the most attentive. And it is not YY.

The city I hope is my first book to become popular at Qidian. The significance of this book is that I started with this book, from a pure city to writing about urban YY.

"Evil Qi" has brought me great gains without saying anything. I made an attempt, which is an urban novel, using a hard-core and realistic style to compile an urban YY novel.

So I wrote about Chen Yang, a brave, passionate and loyal man. In order to pursue realistic style, I checked a lot of information about the underworld - it was not just a watermelon knife to chop people, but it was called a gangster! That was just a gangster. I wrote about the big circle, Qinghong, and Chinese communities in North America.

When I wrote about Xiao Wu being chased and ran away, I really found a few brothers who had been on the road and asked: How did the people on the road run away?

As a result, Xiao Wu was chased from Nanjing and went south to Guangzhou. He lived in a dilapidated small guesthouse, turned the car desperately, arranged a suspicion array, and confused the people who were chasing him. At that time, a friend of mine told me: In fact, if you run away, it would be easier to be chased by Tiaozi. The most dangerous thing is to be chased by Tiaozi. One is because Tiaozi catches you and is caught at most. If you are caught by Tiaozi, you will be killed by the road. Moreover, when you are wanted and chased by Tiaozi, they often mobilize their forces, even more closely than the police.

As a result, some readers asked me if I had really been on the road - haha.

When I was writing about Xiao Wu hiding into the pyramid scheme den, I also did a lot of materials to prepare lessons, and finally wrote down the situation of the pyramid scheme den - as a result, some readers said in the book review area that the writing was too real and asked me if I had really experienced pyramid schemes.

Including writing Xiaowu later smuggled to North America by boat, I also checked a lot of information, what was going on the boat on the sea, etc., and strived to be true.

And the part when Xiao Wu went to Vietnam... Haha, many people don't know that I have really been to Vietnam. It's just a trip. I wrote that Xiao Wu took a luxury cruise from Guangxi to Vietnam, and that boat started to open a casino on the high seas. These are all true! I took that boat and lost money in the casino on the high seas at night.

Including writing Xiao Wu landing in Xialong Bay, staying overnight in Haiphong City, selling tiger beer in the hotel, and various amazing places in Vietnam's security, all of which were my personal experiences.

There is also the Hanoi Hotel, the nightclub where the mixed-race beauty works, called Ocean Star Nightclub. I have been there too! I stayed at the Hanoi Hotel at that time.

Even, it was written that Xiao Wu was chased by Vietnamese in Hanoi and jumped into the river to swim and run away. There was really a river!

When I was writing about Xiaowu going to Canada. When I was in Vancouver, I specifically looked for the downtown map of Vancouver, and there were also some various information about Vancouver. Some readers even asked me if I had been in Vancouver, because as I wrote in my book, the Hesting Street in the big circle is indeed the famous black street in Vancouver: it is a place where prostitutes and drug dealers are present.

——As a result, the book became popular with evil spirits-

But in fact, urban novels are difficult to write.

In terms of the difficulty of writing, Western magic and fantasy novels are easiest to write.

Why? Because there is no limit! You can make up a world out of thin air, set the continent, write it casually with a broad sky and a wild sky! For such a book, the author is God! You can move mountains and seas and create and play it at will.

However, writing urban novels is not OK!!

Because reality is right next to us. You write out ridiculously and can be seen at a glance.

For example, the classic plot in some novels I wrote in the previous article: I am worth hundreds of millions, and I invite my classmates to McDonald's, and I think this is a very high-end move...

There are also some "classic" scenes: for example, the protagonist dresses very simply and takes his girlfriend to a jewelry store to buy jewelry. The waiter looks down on the person and says: Can you afford it if you are a guy like you? Then the protagonist generously takes out a very awesome card, and then shows off his power... Classic scenes!

Every time I see such a scene, I find it very funny.

Most of the authors who wrote this way have never been to a jewelry store to buy things. Nowadays, which store salesperson dares to treat customers like this? Don’t want this job anymore! How difficult is it to find a job now... Who dares to accidentally support their job? Many readers are in the service industry and should have a deep understanding. Who dares to roll their eyes at customers for no reason? Haha.

I remember the two funny scenes that I remember most were: the first one, in a certain book, the protagonist met a policeman from the United States, and the other party introduced himself, and was "the deputy captain of the Chicago Criminal Police Brigade"... Seeing this title, I laughed so hard that I burst into tears.

The second one, a book, background in mainland China, writes about the protagonist's experience of a lawsuit, in the court: there are judges, and juries...

I thought that this author probably watched too many Hong Kong dramas, because there is no such thing in the courts in mainland China.

There are no "judges" in mainland courts, only "presiding judges", and no jury or something like that...

Of course, I don’t have to experience it myself before writing a book, but at least I need to have a basic foundation in life.

Even if the author doesn’t know about some things, since they are urban novels, the main stories can be edited at will, but the details must be true!

Even if you really have never been to high-end hotel clubs or bought diamonds in jewelry stores, you have never been to court for lawsuits…but…

At least you can understand it a little. OK, you are too lazy to check it, too lazy to go out...but there is a computer!

Baidu master knows everything. Is it difficult to click on the Internet?

This is the sincerity of writing books! Are you really attentive and responsible for your own works? Authors who are unwilling to work hard to obtain evidence in details cannot write good novels. So I usually read books, especially novels with urban themes. Let’s first look at the first five chapters, regardless of whether the plot is attractive or not, if I see more than three common sense random blocks, I will flash it.

Details determine everything!

Don’t think that this is useless, because if an author refuses to work hard on details, then what if people believe that he will work hard on the main line and story? You are lazy and not working hard on the details. I don’t believe that such a person can write a main line story of more than one million words!

Don't think that readers are easy to fool. In fact, readers' eyes are bright. If you randomly cover details and refuse to take care of them, readers will easily see it. Especially those who like to read urban themes.

That's right, the so-called urban YY novel is actually to weave a wonderful daydream for readers.

But even if you are having a beautiful dream, everyone hopes that the more realistic the dream, the better, so that you can get greater pleasure.

Isn't it?-

The difficulty of urban novels lies in this: everything you write must be within this framework. It must conform to "common sense" and "common sense".

These are common sense in life.

If you write about another world, you can write whatever you want, but if you write about the city, in many fields, you are not allowed to write randomly, and you are not allowed to do it randomly.

What I always like the most is urban novels. I always feel that when writing urban novels, I can perform better and I can grasp the psychology of the characters more clearly.

Compared with YY novels with other themes, the most wonderful thing is that you can make up all of them: fantasy and magical ones.

But the biggest subtlety of urban themes is: [half true and half false]!

If there are too many false things, this "dream" will be too unreal and cannot give readers the pleasure of substituting them when reading.

If there are too many things, it will be too realistic, and it will be too boring.

Half true and half false. How to grasp this "degree" depends on the author's personal performance.
