16. Departures and Hunts

"Mrs. Lester, if it's convenient, I can do it for you." A familiar voice advised.

The witcher was leaning against the wall with a cigar in his mouth, and Hevin had returned to the house at some point.

The evil light on the handle of the ax became more intense, and Rebecca replied:

"I know, but I'd still like to do it myself if possible."

Seeing that Rebecca had no intention of letting go of the axe, Hevin did not continue to persuade her.

Ogden looked into Rebecca's eyes:

"I have already killed Peter. Once the witcher kills the other person, you can leave here."

Rebecca's hand holding the ax handle trembled slightly.

"Nellie's tuition for college..." Ogden paused and smiled with relief, "Forget it."

"Also, I'm sorry."

Mrs. Leicester raised her ax and dropped it, and the shape-shifting monster's head with only its mouth fell to the ground. Its withered white body with sharp claws and the characteristics of both humans and beasts appeared.

Mrs. Leicester was surprisingly calm.

Hewen looked at the body of No. 17 and said:

"The vast majority of shapeshifters can change their forms and directly read other people's memories without harming others. Types like this that require human brain-eating are rare. Of course, they cannot have any influence on the original owner.

It’s a shame that the memory is so empathetic.”

Rebecca Lester looked at Hevin and begged:

"Can you escort us? I want to take the children out of here by train."

The witcher asked:

"Where to go?"

"Wharton, although this Ogden is a monster, the real Ogden would also suggest this. I want to leave this town and find a place that won't remind me of the past."

"Can you survive there?"

Rebecca looks strong:

"It's okay. I can contact my father. Although I don't have a very good relationship with him, he won't watch me starve to death."

Hewen agreed to her request:

"Of course, Nelly is my friend."

Hevin looked at the ax in Rebecca's hand again:

"It's the weapon of an old friend of mine."

The weapon of an old friend? Rebecca immediately figured it out. It was a relic. No wonder it was placed in a glass cabinet.

She immediately said embarrassedly:

"sorry, I do not know……"

"No, no need. It hasn't had an owner it likes for a long time. You can take it with you. After all, the world is not peaceful."

Rebecca said in surprise:

"Is this really okay?"

"It doesn't want to be put in a cabinet, but remember, you don't need to let it taste the blood of humans. It's best not to let it drink human blood. After all, there are many easier ways to kill people."

"Okay, thank you, Mr. Hevin." For some reason, Rebecca could feel the joy coming from the axe.

Jimmy interjected:

"I do not go."

"What did you say?" Rebecca looked at the child angrily.

Jimmy made a thud and knelt down in front of Hewen:

"Uncle Hevin, I want to learn the techniques of hunting monsters from you. I want to kill all these things, these shape-shifters."

The witcher looked at Jimmy with no surprise in his eyes:

"My demon hunting skills are not suitable for passing on to ordinary humans. Besides, your mother has already completed her revenge. What do you want to do? Kill them? Do those shapeshifters who do not harm humans also have to atone for your father's death?

?"

"Child, this is not a war, and most non-human creatures are not evil. What do you want to do? Vent your anger, or cover up your fear and powerlessness."

The boy looked up at Hevin, and found that he did not dare to look at the demon hunter:

"It doesn't matter if you don't want to teach me. I will find a way on my own. Also, thank you for saving us."

Nelly put aside her usual worries and reserve, walked up to Hewen and hugged him:

"I'm going to miss you."

Hewen took Ha La's hand, put the bracelet back on his body, led several people out of the room, and looked into the distance.

At the train station.

Hala and Hevin watched the three people walking onto the carriage, watching them become smaller and smaller, and finally disappeared over the horizon amidst the roaring sound.

The little girl held Hevin's hand tightly:

"Where do we go next?"

She did not forget what Hevin said before about leaving. In fact, she remembered every word Hevin said.

"I'm going to the White Lion Club's headquarters, Firth City. There may be something that belongs to me there. Are you willing to go with me?"

The girl did not hesitate:

"Well, wherever Hewen goes, I will go."

The sun has risen again.

Field returned to the town, followed by a tall figure.

The tall man wore a hat made of animal skin and an overly warm white bearskin coat. He held a silver wine bottle in his hand and took a few sips from time to time.

"Little guy, if you lie to me, I will shove your head into your butt."

The mayor, who looked to be in his forties, smiled apologetically and said:

"Master, I can only guarantee that everything I say is true. I am not an expert like you, and I can't tell whether the monster is real or fake."

The two walked to the giant bear's body.

The witcher stretched out his arm wrapped in white bear fur and spread his thick five fingers:

"Ganatad."

The demon hunter's eyes projected blue beams of light, and with a wave of his hand, a transparent giant bear appeared from the spot.

"Take us to find it."

The mayor looked on with his eyes shining:

"Master, what is this witchcraft? Is this the soul of a bear? Do people really go to the underworld after death?"

The demon hunter smiled. In the past, when everyone saw these witchcrafts, they would regard them as evil and stay away from them. The enthusiasm of the mayor was somewhat beyond his expectation.

"This is just something made of the anger before death. We usually call it the beast spirit, but the soul naturally does exist. As for whether the underworld exists to judge merits and demerits, you'd better do more good deeds.

.”

The spirit of the giant bear led the two of them through all the places Ogden had visited, and finally came to an ash forest.

The demon hunter squatted on the ground, sniffed on the spot, and said:

"A shapeshifter that has killed people, and was killed by a woman he had been with for a long time."

The mayor was really shocked at this moment:

"Can you tell so much just by smelling it?"

Master Demon Hunter Micah turned his head and looked at the mayor as if he were a fool:

"Why did you smell it? I asked about the life spirits nearby."

"Uh..." The mayor smiled awkwardly.

Mayor Field asked:

"That means the town is already safe. I'm very sorry, Master Demon Hunter, for asking you to make this extra trip."

Micah said with a smile:

"I have had many requests in the past that were solved before I arrived at my destination. I said I would pull out your head just as a joke. Hunting monsters is our fault."

Micah showed a bloodthirsty smile
