Chapter 94 The fireworks are gorgeous and different

Looking at the white earth and snow-covered roofs, looking up the clear night sky.

Zhu Youxiao was promoted to his seat at the Meridian Gate, preparing to have fun with the people, enjoy the fireworks performance and the wonderful and gorgeous Aoshan lantern trees.

The Aoshan Lantern is a large lantern in ancient times. Its scale and momentum are no less than magnificent buildings and halls. It can be called the king of the Lantern Clan and is also a large lantern group that was popular in ancient times.

"Aoshan" is named after "Liezi Tang Wen". According to legend, there is an unfathomable gully billions of miles east of the Bohai Sea, called "Guixu". Five fairy mountains floating on it are "Daiyu", "Yuanjiao", "Fanghu", "Yingzhou" and "Penglai".

There are gold and jade palaces on these five fairy mountains, including rare birds and beasts, and plants and fruits that can live forever. There are many gods and immortals in the mountains, who travel back and forth between heaven and earth.

However, these five sacred mountains had no foundations and they drifted with the waves. The Emperor of Heaven ordered the sea god Yu Jiang to lead fifteen giant auras to fix them, and the sacred mountains stopped moving.

Unexpectedly, once the giants from Longbo Kingdom came to the sacred mountain to fish, they caught six giant turtles, causing "Daiyu" and "Yuanqiao" to float to the North Pole and sink into the sea, leaving only three sacred mountains.

Because of this legend, Aoshan Lantern usually reproduces the mythical fairy scene in the form of lamps, representing the transformation function of lamp culture.

As early as the Sui and Tang Dynasties, with the rise of Lantern Festival lanterns, Aoshan became one of the main lantern scenes.

During the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty, there was a mountain of Aoshan that was more than a hundred feet high; during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty, the skilled craftsman Mao Shun made 20 Aoshan lamp buildings, which were 150 feet high, with various colorful lanterns hanging on it, such as pearls, jade, gold and silver, and dragons, phoenixes, tigers and leopards.

After the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang, built the capital of Nanjing, in order to attract wealthy businessmen from all over the world and prosper the economy, he ordered a high-rise Aoshan lantern shed. The Ming people painted the "Southern Capital Fanhui Picture" to record this grand occasion.

The so-called "a cup of Aoshan is worth a thousand gold" is something that ordinary people cannot afford. Only the royal family often sets up one at the entrance of the palace, allowing the people to come and enjoy it for a few days.

Of course, among the people, there are people who raise money to build smaller scales and make simpler Aoshan lanterns, such as the Qinhuai River lamp ship, which is very famous.

The huge Aoshan lamp was lit up, and the layers of piles were expressed in mountains, the colors were expressed in green forests, and the pavilions and colorful figures were expressed in legendary gods and palaces.

This is not a matter of spending much money, but creating a stable and peaceful atmosphere, showing the strength of the country, and bringing the people the pride and pride of being a wise man.

Of course, this is just a superficial function. Zhu Youxiao certainly knew that it would take him a long way to go to make the Ming Dynasty truly strong and the people truly stable and prosperous.

Except for Zhang Yuer, the first, second and second concubines were with the emperor.

It was not that Zhu Youxiao refused to let Zhang Yuer come, but that Zhang Yuer knew the reason for being promoted to a concubine, and also knew what impact the safety of the child in her belly had on her.

Although Zhu Youxiao believes that he is not such a ruthless scumbag, his attention to the child in Chang Yuer's belly has also brought considerable pressure to Chang Yuer.

The royal grace is to allow civilians to come and watch, but they cannot get too close. Without a telescope, the people only saw lights and figures on the Meridian Gate, but they did not know that it was the emperor who came in person.

"When it comes to Lantern Festival, how about I take Baozhu to the streets and alleys to watch the lanterns?" Zhu Youxiao said to Queen Zhang Yan with a smile.

Zhang Yan frowned slightly and advised tactfully: "Your Majesty's body of a thousand golds, and his white dragon fish clothes are swimming in the market, right?"

Zhu Youxiao laughed twice, expecting Zhang Yan's answer. If he had changed to a concubine, he would definitely agree happily.

Concubine Wang Liang heard it clearly and was quite moved, but she opened her mouth and finally didn't say what she meant in front of the queen.

"Which is Samantabhadra Bodhisattva riding a six-toothed white elephant?" Duan Chun asked, "It seemed that he couldn't see the Aoshan lamp clearly."

Concubine Wang blinked and said perfunctorily: "The person riding the white elephant must be Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. Is it the Six Teeth? But I can't see clearly."

Zhu Youxiao snorted and said, "Monk is not good. Craftsmen are not allowed to make Buddhists next year."

Zhang Yan glanced at the emperor and smiled and said, "There are so many gods in the sky, so it's okay if you don't need Buddhists."

Concubine Wang Liang agreed, "It's better to have gods and stories! It's like the Eight Immortals crossing the sea and Chang'e flies to the moon."

Concubine Duan Chun prefers Buddhism, but the emperor doesn't like it, and she doesn't want to be stubborn, just smiles and agrees.

Zhu Youxiao does not like Buddhism very much, but now he is just talking casually and has no intention or plan to suppress Buddhism.

"The fireworks are going to be set off." Zhang Yan pointed and changed the subject and attracted everyone's attention.

Everyone watched with a look and saw a colorful ball of light leaping into the air and blooming, like blooming flowers, shining with colorful brilliance.

In the night sky, red, yellow, green...the colorful beauty turns into sparkling stars, from light to dark, and eventually disappears.

Suddenly, clusters of large flowers bloomed in the night, red flowers, green grass, and small purple and blue flowers, like a garden of flowers, presenting in front of you!

Petals were sprinkled in the sky, falling colorfully, while colorful little stars were sprinkled.

Even if you are far away, you can vaguely hear the sounds from the people. Zhu Youxiao and his concubines were also attracted by this beautiful scenery, as if they were in a colorful illusion.

Life is so short that it only brings out all its splendor and glory in the moment of blooming.

Zhu Youxiao narrowed his eyes and felt a sense of feeling in a dream.

…………………………………………………………

Boom! A dazzling flame flashed at the muzzle, illuminating the faces of several artillery soldiers. The shells had already emerged from the chamber and flew towards Jiannu's camp in an arc.

Although there are telescopes, it is not easy to find the right spot in the night.

But Luo Li held up the telescope and found it. Thanks to previous training and live-fire shooting, as well as data sorting and field surveys.

The shells fell into Jiannu's camp, bounced on the ground, overturned a tent, and overturned the lighting torches erected in the camp.

Luo Li did not find the shell accurately, but the trajectory was clearly seen through the results.

"The elevation angle remains unchanged, and the guns are bombarded." He put down his telescope and issued a loud order.

Boom, boom, boom... One after another, the dozen or so red cannons gathered in this section of the city wall roared and shot the shells at the camp of the Later Jin army.

Nurhaci just fell asleep, and his age was unforgivable. The long journey in the wind and snow consumed most of his energy. The Later Jin soldiers in the camp also rested early and prepared to welcome tomorrow's tragic siege.

The screams rang out at this moment. After a brief reaction, Jiannu finally realized that he was being bombarded.

This is the flaw of solid shells, which is far less lethal than the flower shells falling to the ground and explosion. However, in dealing with dense battle formations, if the ground is hard enough, the bounce shells can penetrate a gang.

Moreover, the Red Barbarian cannons are powerful when fired, and the light can scare many people. In addition, the hard ground in winter still has some lethality on the bombardment of Jiannu Camp.

A shell was covered very accurately, and it bounced a few times, smashed into the old slave's tent, and overturned the tent and took it out several meters away.

The old slave woke up from his sleep, saw the stars in the sky, and heard screams. Then the personal soldiers rushed over in panic and protected him and moved quickly.

"Can the Ming army's artillery hit the camp?!" The old slave woke up and widened his eyes in shock.

Without anyone else's answer, the miserable corpse lying on the ground has proved that this is true. Half of the body was beaten away, and the head was even more invisible. Only from the armor can it be seen that it is at least a Niu Luezhen.

Bang! Not far away, another shell fell to the ground and bounced along a low trajectory. By chance, two dead bodies were left on the ground.

The flight speed of solid shells does not seem to be very fast. Sometimes, it can create an illusion when you look at the naked eye, as if you can get it with your hand.

But this is definitely a terrible illusion. If you reach out and touch each other, you will be covered in blood and even a pool of meat paste.

With the advantage of being condescending, the Red Cannon is launched almost at a flat angle. This is a bit similar to using a stone to raft the water, and applying force against the water surface will definitely be better.

If there is an elevation angle on the flat ground, the bounce of the shell will definitely be affected, and a considerable amount of power will be consumed on the ground. The larger the elevation angle, the softer the ground, the shorter the bounce distance and the smaller the power.

With the chaos in Jiannu Camp, more and more figures were shaking, running, calling, and the damage caused by shells was greater than before.

But that's all. Xiong Tingbi didn't expect to kill many enemies, but he was just a warning and a prestige.

From this point of view, Xiong Tingbi achieved his goal. The shelling caused Jiannu to suffer casualties, causing chaos, forming a deterrent, and forcing Nurhaci to move camp overnight.

At the same time, Nurhaci had to postpone the attack for one day in order to allow the army to adjust and rest, and sent Han soldiers to prepare a large amount of earth bags and wood to fill the trenches.

Although this did not matter much to the Ningyuan defenders, psychologically, it was a frustrating blow to Nurhaci and Jiannu. In ancient times, this was called military morale.

One of them has changed and the other has risen. When the Ming army saw the busyness of Jiannu, they could even be panicked, but naturally felt contempt or pleasure.

Among the defenders, some experienced the Battle of Guangning, and some participated in the rotation battle in southern Liaoning in one year. With the new combination of the old generation, they greatly stabilized the morale of the army and were not afraid of Jiannu's large-scale attack.

On the morning of the third day of the Lunar New Year, Nurhaci led his troops out of the camp and pointed the main attack direction towards the southwest corner of the city.

The wind was not strong, but it was very cold. The tense atmosphere before the war was even more frozen, as if it had frozen the air.

The heavily armored infantry was like an indestructible city wall, with all kinds of weapons covered with forests, shining with cold light, and the power it emitted was suffocating.

The car was ahead, and as the whimpering horn sounded, the coat shouted, pushed forward, forming a barrier in front of the first wide and deep trench.

The broken wood of the earth bag is thrown out from behind the car and falls into the trench, preparing to fill out a path.

Boom, boom, boom... The red cannons on the top of the city roared, and the target was the Jiannu army formation that was on standby to attack.

This is not Nurhaci's negligence, but the posture that must be put on to launch an attack. When the trench is filled, the main attacking troops are several miles away. What's that called fun?

The artillery attack the night before yesterday caused some damage to Jiannu, but it was not serious. But now, Jiannu finally saw the power of the Red Barbarian cannon.

The weight, speed, and the combined impact force of the shells were used to create a bloody alley in Jiannu's array, leaving behind broken limbs and broken arms, rotten bones and flesh.

Moreover, the Red Cannons have been repeatedly fired, and the hit rate to areas within the range is extremely high. Just five or six cannons have been shot, causing great damage to Jiannu.

The tragic scene was like a slaughterhouse, and the inhuman screams and wails made Jiannu's battle formation tremble.

"Father Khan." Degele came to Nurhaci and said hurriedly: "Please supervise and command the backyard, and leave the one in front to me and my fifth brother."

How could Nurhaci not know that his son was worried about his own safety? He was about to refuse, but Degele was already stunned and scolded the soldiers beside him: "You eyeless slaves, why don't you protect King Khan quickly?"

Tong Yangxing also stepped forward at the right time and advised: "King Khan, it will take some time to fill the trenches. Retreat the troops and standby without affecting the attack."

Nurhaci pondered for a moment and felt that this was the best. He neither seemed timid and afraid of death nor had he let the troops continue to lose money in vain in the shelling.

After ordering, the attacking troops would quickly retreat five miles away if they received amnesty. According to estimates, this should be a relatively safe distance.

The Red Cannon on the top of the city stopped firing, which made Jiannu think that retreating was a good way. But they didn't know exactly that the Red Cannon's firing rate was very slow, which was also a common problem with the borebore cannons at that time.

First of all, the Red Cannon is a retreat-type artillery. Every time it is fired, it will seriously deviate from the original shooting position and need to go through the steps of resetting, reloading, and setting the direction angle and elevation angle again.

Secondly, after the artillery is reset, it is necessary to use a water-dipped brush to clean and extinguish the sparks. Then, the gun rod wrapped in a dry cloth is inserted into the artillery chamber to dry, so that it can be filled with gunpowder and put in the shell, and some things may be needed to fix it.

It can be seen how complicated the launch procedure of the borebore cannon is. It is a very good speed to be able to fire every two minutes.

But the Red Barbarian cannons stopped bombarding, while other cannons on the city were roaring, destroying Jiannu's shield chariot formation.

You should know that the fortifications outside the city were not built casually, but were determined by combining the power of the range of various firepowers.

The first trench was about four hundred meters away from the city wall, and was within the range of the Franco aircraft and general artillery on the top of the city.

These cannons are not as powerful as the Red Barbarian cannons, but they are in large numbers and are more than enough to deal with shield cars.

In the eyes of Jiannu in the distance, the fires on the top of the city kept flashing, bursts of white smoke rose, and solid shells flew through the air at a speed visible to the naked eye.

There are so many cannons! Including officers, the Jiannu soldiers couldn't help but feel chill in their hearts. If heavy armor can resist muskets, the cannons can't stand it.
