Chapter 41: The Line of Defense That Can't Be Lost

The famous 38th parallel!

Well, this line is of course not a medal line used by women's compatriots in commemorating the Women's Day in the World.

Speaking of this line, I really have to say sadness to the people on the Korean Peninsula. Weak countries have no diplomacy and territory have no autonomy. We have obtained the most powerful interpretation of power on this 38th parallel.

The initiator of this nature is neither the omnipotent Lord God advocated by the Western world nor the Jade Emperor who is in charge of the heavenly court and all things in the world in the Eastern world. No one expected that their maker was two American colonels, Dean Rusk and Charles Bonnister.

During the end of World War II, the Soviet Union had declared war on Japan and "flocked" to the Korean Peninsula, and Japan was forced to surrender.

In theory, no matter who eliminates the Japanese invaders or rescues the Korean people from the dire straits of the Japanese devils, they should return the integrity of the Korean regime and territory to the Korean people, and then withdraw from the Korean Peninsula to ensure peace after the war.

But under such circumstances, the Soviet Union and the United States played Tai Chi. They were like two giants who were evenly matched. Although they didn't like each other, they actually played a game between great powers on the Korean Peninsula based on the premise that they knew that they would definitely not have a good result when they fought.

The Soviet Union's goal of rushing into the Korean Peninsula was very clear, that is, the US military could not leave a frontier position on the territory of Asia that could directly attack them. At least it had to set up a military buffer zone.

This game looks the same as the Russians forced Chiang Kai-shek to separate Outer Mongolia from our China territory. I will take your life while you are sick. These foreign barbarians who have had the fine tradition of hegemony since ancient times have played with people and made you have no temper at all.

But, if you let the Russians take over the Korean Peninsula, then Uncle Sam will stop doing it again.

If the polar bears stretch their claws out from the Pacific Ocean, it will definitely affect Uncle Sam's ocean strategy, so both sides will reasonably be both bitch and archway. Both countries also claim to be liberating the Korean Peninsula and liberating the Korean people. With equal interests, they will privately divide the Korean Peninsula.

As for how to divide it up, the Russians actually got the advantage and bought a good person, so they put this dominance into Uncle Sam's hands.

So the U.S. State Department-Department-Army Department Coordination Committee held an emergency meeting at the Pentagon. Five people attended the meeting, including Assistant Secretary of State Dunn, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Army John McChloe and senior Admiralty official Bard.

At the meeting, Dunn suggested that the US military should rush to the north as far as possible to surrender, but Colonel Dean Rusk, a young Marshall staff officer, pointed out that the military lacked the troops to be used immediately. Coupled with time and space, it was difficult for the US military to arrive in the northern depths of the north before the Soviet army entered the northern part of North Korea. At the same time, he also implicitly pointed out that if the polar bears are angered, no one will get good results.

So the emergency meeting took advantage of the situation to go down the stairs, and McCloy invited Rusk and another colonel, Charles Bonistiel, to go to the third lounge and asked them to create a line that "push north as much as possible" but not "rejected by the Soviet Union."

The one who goes north as far as possible without angering the polar bears, the formulation of this dividing line made Dean Rusk and Charles Bonister scratch their heads with a little distress. This was simply a double political and military pressure on the game between major powers to their weak shoulders at the same time. However, the two brothers were happy for a long time. They measured the ruler for a long time, thinking about how to find a center line on the Korean Peninsula, and probably estimated the control area of the two areas. The two brothers did not care about the mountains, rivers, waters, flowers, plants and trees on the Korean Peninsula. They raised the ruler and drew a straight line on the map. This line happened to be on the 38th latitude line, so they fell into the "beautiful name" of the 38th parallel.

But how outrageous is this line? People all over the world may not know it, but the North Korean people are all in pain.

This 300-kilometer-long dividing line crosses the Korean Peninsula in obliquely, it cuts off 75 streams and 12 rivers, crosses heavy mountains and ridges at different angles, crosses 181 paths, 104 rural dirt roads, 15 inter-road roads and 8 advanced roads, and 6 north-south railway lines.

For administrative management and economic development, and from a geographical point of view, everyone knows that the 38th parallel is an extremely unreasonable dividing line.

However, for the polar bear and Uncle Sam, they are enough to be satisfied, and they don’t care about the death of the North Korean people.

Obviously, this is a political line and a strategic line between the game between great powers. This was the case with the polar bear and Uncle Sam back then, and the current Chinese dragon vs. Uncle Sam.

Tiewon is on the 38th line. Judging from the strategic game between the north and south of the Korean Peninsula, Tiewon and the gold-cultivation line are strategically significant areas in the upper and central parts of North Korea, and are called the "Iron Triangle".

It is located in the central part of the entire Korean Peninsula. It has many mountains and dangerous roads and mountains form its own barriers. There are also highways and railways that meet from the north to the south. It can be said that it is a must-fight for military strategists to fight between the north and the south.

Since the Volunteer Army entered North Korea, it has organized five large-scale counterattacks, and each time it is a victory in every battle. It has been pushed from the Yalu River to Seoul in South Korea. However, since the offensive in the fourth battle began to weaken, exiting Seoul and withdrawing from Cheongchuan. However, if it withdraws from the front lines of Tetrawon and Jinhua, it will definitely be untenable in politics. To help North Korea carry out a self-defense counterattack, it will never cause any loss of troops or territory.

Therefore, the intentions of the CPC Central Committee from Zhisi to the domestic Central Committee are very clear. Whether in terms of military or political terms, this line cannot be abandoned or lost. This is the last line of defense that the Chinese army must defend.

The great leader Chairman Mao knew that Marshal Peng Dehuai, the commander of the outstanding volunteer army, knew that even Gao Xiaodong, the combat staff officer, knew that, but Wang Yang, a young recruit who had only been in the army for three months, also knew that this surprised Gao Xiaodong and everyone.

This kid not only dares to fight and rush in war, but also has a far-sighted vision in political and ideological aspects?

"Okay, let's go this route!"

Gao Xiaodong's eyes were glowing. Looking at Wang Yang, he felt that this was the heir to the revolutionary ancestors, and the firm successor of the passionate battle flag in the red trenches. How could such a person live in the long run?

"We set out immediately to strive to meet with the large forces of the 19th Corps as soon as possible!"
