Miura Nashi (September 24, 1564 - May 16, 1620) was an British navigator, with an English name William Adams. He came to Japan in 1600 and became the first foreign samurai in Japan. He was the first British man to come to Japan. He had worked as a diplomatic advisor to Tokugawa Ieyasu and received a 250-stone territory.

The tomb of Miura's horn is located in Sakika Park in Hirado City, Nagasaki Prefecture. In the "Tzukayama Park" in Nishimomicho, Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, there is a monument of Miura's wife. It was designated as a historical site in Japan on March 7, 1923.

(Excerpt from the historical traces of William Adams):

Adams, who was in Edo, applied to return home, but it was not approved until 1613.

Tokugawa Ieyasu was interested in Adams's Western knowledge and asked him to serve as a diplomatic and trade adviser.

During this period, Adams also taught Iekam's staff about geometry, mathematics and navigation.

In 1602, Adams married Ma Luo, the daughter of Ieyasu's royal merchant, and had a son, Joseph and a daughter, Susanna.

On May 26, 1620, Adams died in Hirado at the age of 55 and was buried in a public cemetery near Hirado Shopping Mall, which is Sakika Park in Hirado City.

In addition, according to Adams' last words, a needle-shuo to build a top of Mount Yimi where you can see Edo Castle.

Later, Adams' territory was inherited by his son Joseph, who also inherited the title of Miura's Needle.

Joseph later engaged in the red seal ship trade like his father, but disappeared into historical records after Japan entered the era of lockdown in 1635.
