4. Eat the relic

Ximing Temple is also one of the largest temples in Chang'an City. Its former site was successively the residence of Yang Su of the Sui Dynasty and Li Tai, the King of Wei of the Tang Dynasty. After Li Tai's death, his homestead was taken by the government. However, soon Emperor Gaozong of Tang recovered from his illness because of his filial piety to the crown prince, so he established a temple here, named Ximing. Originally, Emperor Gaozong planned to establish a Taoist temple in Yankangfang, with one Buddhist temple each, but the person in charge reported that the foundation was too narrow, so he used it to build Ximing Temple.

By the 13th year of the Dali period, Ximing Temple had ten courtyards with a total of 4,000 houses, and it has always been the largest lecture place in the Tang Empire. The tiles, caissons, murals, and calligraphy inside were all first-class in Chang'an, known as "the corridors, towers, flying and stunning in Han, gold paving algae buildings, dazzling rays of rays... The solemnity, even the Liang was the same as the Tai, Wei Yongning, was beyond the reach." Xuanzang, Fazang and other monks were all here. At the eighth day of the lunar month, welcoming the glass Buddha bones, and even the temple was decorated with gold and jade. The Buddha bone relics were placed in the main hall of the Buddhist hall. It was really dazzling and extraordinary.

At this moment, the temple master, Monk Fajing, was standing happily on the steps of the Buddhist temple with a group of monks from Ximing. It is said that today, His Majesty the Emperor will send the prince and the princess to come in person, and hold a broken hair in front of the glass Buddha bones to worship relics.

If even the prince is like this, then will you still have to worry about the incense that will be prosperous in Ximing Temple?

While Fajing was immersed in a beautiful outlook, someone from the courtyard gate outside preached: "Are you going to see the Honglu Temple?"

Before the voice was finished, a young man in a blue shirt walked straight to the temple. It was Liu Kaixian from Taofen's sacred, saying that he was coming to check the authenticity of the Buddha's bones first.

Fajing didn't react for a moment, but only knew that the crown prince and his daughter Tang'an County came soon. He thought that the "Honglu Temple Records" had come first to arrange the matter, so he hurriedly stepped forward to greet the monks.

"Where is the Buddha's bone?" Liu Kaixian was also a bold person. He looked at the magnificent caisson in the Ximing Temple Buddhist Hall and said to Fajing in a swagger.

Fajing didn't know if there was such a person in the Honglu Temple in the imperial court. After relaxing for a moment, he asked the monk Dian Fajian of Ximing Temple to take out the relics from the glass cup and give him a look.

As a result, the Honglu Temple Recorder frowned and said, "It's not that it's a bone relic, how can it turn red?"

Fajing and Fajian were said to be stunned. Looking at the relics inside, they were obviously white and round, so why is the record red?

"It's obviously white."

"No, it's red, look at the red light here." Liu Kai pointed first, and saw that the monks were all confused, and then said impatiently, "Take the Buddha's bones out and put them in my palm. I'll point you out where there is red. Your Highness and the princess will come soon. If you show them the business pool at that time, it will be bad!"

Fajing was still in a ignorance, and Fajian was quicker, so he really took out the Buddha's bone relics from the glass cup and held them in the palm of the "Honglu Temple Records".

"Please advise, where is the red flaw?"

"Swoosh!" A gust of wind almost lifted up Fajing and Fajian's monk's robes - the "Honglu Temple Records" grabbed the Buddha's bones with his back hand, turned around like flying, and ran out of the Buddhist temple crazily.

"Ahhhhh!" Dozens of monks immediately fell back in shock. After about a few seconds, Fajing's head was covered in sweat. He pointed to the direction where Liu Kaixian ran away and shouted, "Chasing, chasing!"

Soon the whole Ximing Temple was in chaos, and countless monks and tenants in the hall ran out of various places, chasing Liu Kaixian, trying to snatch the Buddha's bone relics back.

Liu Kai first ran left and right in various buildings, threw waves of people behind him, and took off his fake official's blue shirt and threw it into the well of Ximing Temple (this well was dug by Yang Su), then rushed out of the north courtyard gate of Ximing Temple, and rushed to Guangdefang.

The monks in Ximing Temple also pursued each other relentlessly because they knew that if the crown prince had not arrived soon, it would be considered a crime of deceiving the king and deceiving the emperor.

At this moment, Crown Prince Li Shi and his daughter Princess Tang'an were riding in a carriage, surrounded by Yiwei and Huan Temple in the East Palace, and were coming to Yankangfang.

"What? Gao Yue's rascal rogue not only got the scoundrel, but also was awarded the title of "Jianxian Zheng"!" After hearing Huo Jingliang said next to him, Tang An almost collapsed. She thought there was something wrong with the system of this country?

So Tang An complained to his father, but Li Shi was not so excited. "Gao Yue was crazy and seemed to be a little practical. Don't underestimate him."

"My daughter only saw him twice. The first time she used fraud to me in Cuju, and the second time she was on the side of Qujiang River in Shengdaofang. She saw him seducing a good wife. From this we can see that this scoundrel is doing dirty things all the time." Tang An had a very bad impression of Gao Yue.

As soon as he finished speaking, Tang An saw a tall white-clothed man passing by the wall of the yard with a bamboo mat on his back. Wasn't it Gao Yue? He saw him quickly heading towards Guangdefang along the side of the street, and disappeared in an instant.

"Are you dazzled?" Tang An rubbed his eyes, thinking that it wouldn't be such a coincidence!

In fact, Tang An was not wrong. In the secluded bamboo forest next to the Jingzhao Mansion in Guangdefang, Liu Kai stopped first, holding the white and bright Buddha bone relics in his hand, and there was a deep well next to him.

"No, no..." Fajian and the monks in Ximing Temple who were chasing him stopped quickly, all of them stretched out their hands, begging Liu Kai not to act rashly.

After Liu Kaixian, several men came out of the way, with different costumes, including those wearing Taoist feathered clothes, some wearing Shence Army colorful robes, some wearing Long March athletes soap robes, and some dressed by the doorman. The monks were confused for a moment, and they didn't know what the identity of these people were.

But they all carried big bamboo baskets and lined up on the ground. Then Liu Kaixian smiled and said, "All the monks wear gold and silver, but we are hungry and hungry. If we want to return the Buddha's bones, please send 200 guan of money immediately!"

At this time, Fa Jian thought that he would never give in, so he said, "The west side is the Jingzhao Prefecture Government. Are you too brave to blackmail Ximing Temple?"

The man wearing Shen Ce Army's clothes laughed and blew the wooden flint in his hand red. He lit the torch. Liu Kaixian quickly held the Buddha's bones close to the flames.

"It's not allowed to do it!" Fajian and the monks shouted immediately.

"How about it, burning the filth with a handful of fire and throwing the sediment into the well spring!"

"No, no."

"Then withdraw money."

Fa Jian winked at the left and right, and then used a delaying plan, "Please wait for this gentleman here..."

Before the word "wait" was finished, Liu Kaixian suddenly grew his mouth and raised the Buddha's bone relic.

"No--you--ah!" Fa Jian and other monks all grew their mouths and shouted these three words slowly.
