Chapter 949 Two competing Harvey Award nominees (Part 2) Chapter 950 Don't look at my lower body!(1/3)

The intensity of competition for various awards in the 1930 Harvey Awards was obviously something that no one expected. Ninety percent of the nominees or movies were famous in Hollywood, which was destined to be a battlefield filled with gunpowder.

Not to mention anything else, just looking at the long list of nominations will make you clear.

Among all the awards, the Best Actor Award and the Best Actress Award are the two most popular performance awards, and the two with the most valuable content. The nomination list for this year's Best Actor Award is definitely the most gorgeous in history.

In contrast, the nomination list for the Best Actress Award is also radiant.

There are 6 individuals who have won the list of best actress nominations, and the number is:

Vivien Gone with the Wind Hollywood Joint Film

Jabbo Patriots, "007" DreamWorks Film Company

Katherine Hepburn Gladiator DreamWorks Electronic Music Company

Claudei Kaul's White Back Window" Lei Dinghua Film Company

Ingrid Boman's Seventh Cross" MGM Film Company

Marlene Bickford City Light" Leidianhua Film Company

It can be said that although six women cannot represent all the first-line actresses in Hollywood, they are basically included. They are Hollywood's darlings and frequently appear on the screen and the media. Many of them have become the symbols of Hollywood.

Among these six people, they are obviously divided into three generations: old, middle and young. This division is obviously not based on age, but on the time they entered Hollywood and their achievements.

Marlene Bickford is the oldest local among the six people. She is also the representative of the female stars in the early stages of Hollywood. She has a high reputation in Hollywood. This time, in "City Light", she played the blind flower girl opposite Chaplin, and achieved great success. For her, after so many years of acting experience, she has become familiar with any role.

Garbo, Katherine Hepburn are now at their peak. They are the peak of Hollywood women and have a huge fan base. Vivien Leigh, Claude, Kaulbai, Ingrid and Baoman are all newcomers. Although the three of them have appeared in movies and have even achieved considerable results in Hollywood, their reputation is still a little weaker than Garbo and others.

These six people can basically represent the basic situation of Hollywood actresses from all aspects. However, in front of the Harvey Awards, the judges will not vote for you if you are a veteran. For them, the quality of the movie is the bottom line. If you can't make a good movie, anything is useless.

Among the six nominated for Best Actress, the relatively advantageous one is three, namely Vivien Leigh, Birkford and Gamblebo. Gamblebo's performance in "Patriot" and "007" has become the focus of discussion among American people this year. Many advertisers even found Gamblebo and asked Gamblebo to endorse them. Birkford's performance in "City Light" also made her original infamous caused by Chaplin's "Peach Blossom Case".

However, among the three, the most eye-catching one is obviously Vivien Leigh. A movie called "Gone with the Wind". Scarlett's image is deeply rooted in people's hearts. Americans are almost crazy about love for this woman. It is said that outside Vivien Leigh's villa, there are reporters everywhere from morning to night and 24 hours a day. These reporters just want to take a photo of Vivien Leigh, such a photo. As long as it is published in a newspaper, no matter what newspaper it is, it can be sold out.

This is Vivien Leigh’s charm, in this award. She is a popular candidate.

Next, there is the nomination list for the Best Photography Award.

The four people nominated for this award are very familiar to audiences who are familiar with Hollywood.

Berg Patriots, Gladiator DreamWorks Film Company

Billy Bizen Shawshank's Redemption, "The Legend of Lincoln" DreamWorks Film Company

Huang Zongzhan Hell Angel" New Line Film Company

"Hong Zong is a woman in the troubled world" Hollywood joint film

Benjamin Dulaizer Lizard, Dracula Paramount Film Company.

The four people who have won the Best Photography nomination are all big shots in the Hollywood photography industry. Many people will guess their nominations, but this year's nomination is very different from the past.

Although there were four nominations in the past, this year, everyone was nominated for two movies. This situation has never happened in the past, and naturally became a hot topic for people to talk about.

Among these four people, Berg is the well-deserved boss in the Hollywood photography industry and a professional professional in the Best Photography Awards. Billy Bizen was the number one person in the Hollywood photography industry more than ten years ago. After his comeback, he won the Best Photography Award that he had monopolized for several years from Berg. It really makes people feel that it is still a hot topic. As for Huang Zongzhan, he is an expert in aerial photography field and a person who is famous for Hollywood cameras. Although this guy doesn't say it, he has long wanted to get a Golden Feather Award and hug it. Benjamin Du Laizen is the first photographer to shoot Lemon. Both of them are nominated for two movies at the same time. It is indeed not the same and lively. That is certain.

There are also four people who were nominated for Best Artist, namely:

Katz Kruger Gone with the Wind Hollywood Joint Film

Glen Patton Patriots, Gladiator DreamWorks Film Company

Manue Robuda Don't Be Silent About This 20th Century Film Company

William Trump's Little Balloon" Lei Dianhua Film Company

Among the four, except for William Trump, the other three are well-known people and are nominated regulars. The competition for this award is still very fierce.

Best Music Awards have always been the focus, and this year is no exception. The four people who were nominated are:

Andrea Morriconne Gladiator, "Shawshank Redemption" DreamWorks Film Company

Porter Patriot DreamWorks Film Company

Hulian Ajulia Gone with the Wind Hollywood Joint Film

Mary Steger's Disillusionment" MGM Film Company

As four Hollywood first-class soundtrack masters, these four have their own distinctive characteristics, Andrey Morriconne's European style, Porter's Broadway style, Ajulia's British elegant music and Steiger's folk tunes. They have long been familiar to the American people. The four are called "Four Masters of Hollywood Movie Soundtrack" by Hollywood filmmakers. This time, they won the award at the same time, which is naturally amazing.

Morriconne's soundtrack in "Gladiator", especially in "Shawshank Redemption", has become a legend in the music industry. Porter geniused to use "Stars and Stripes" in "Patriots" and created a lot of military music, making the soundtrack of this movie a classic example. As for Ajulia, his performance in "Gone with the Wind" is remarkable. The only thing that is at a disadvantage is Marlene Steiger. But his tune based on French folk music in "The Great Disillusionment" is equally excellent.

Nominated for Best Clothing Design Awards, and four people:

Dukeley Tagg Patriots, "Gladiator" DreamWorks Film Company

Hart Capi Gone with the Wind Hollywood Joint Film

Menzies Pomer Lizard Paramount Film Company

Kevin Cosner Lincoln's DreamWorks Film Company

The four nominees for Best Makeup Award are:

Joseph Botta Patriot, "Gladiator" DreamWorks Film Company

Sean Jang Hell Angel New Line Film Company

Lewis Glazer Gone with the Wind Hollywood Joint Film

Michael Lehman City Light" Leidianhua Film Company

The Best Clothing Design and Best Makeup Awards are two less valued awards in the Harvey Awards, so the controversy that can arouse is also very small.

The list of the best short film nominations does not seem to be particularly important:

Carmine Coppola "Thunderstorm"

"The Shortest Candle" Porter Lee

"Road to Heaven" Dan Ike Young

"Family" Andrew Darcik

Every year, those who pay attention to the Best Short Film Awards are the bosses of major Hollywood film companies. Because the new directors of these films who were nominated may become super directors in Hollywood in a few years. However, this year, two of the four nominated people are already old-fashioned, and the remaining two seem to have never heard of them. At least I have no impression of them. This naturally makes them much lighter.

The lively place is the nomination list for the Best Foreign Language Film Awards. This list is also one of the most popular lists every year. Because the movies that are running for are the best movies in various countries this year.

There are 9 movies that won the list of best foreign language film nominations for the 1930 Harvey Awards, namely:

1918 Western Front

"My Wife and Teacher" Florian Rey Spain

"Impression of Nice" Jean Vigo France

Dartmore Villa Arquist UK

"Blassetti" Italy

"Hometown" Kenji Mizuguchi Japan

"Amulet" Alexander Ford Poland

"Land" Du Furenke Soviet Union

"A Little Worker" Zheng Zhengqiu of the Republic of China

When this nomination list was released, major media in Los Angeles made comments. The overall feeling is that compared with the previous session, the quality of the best foreign-language films that were elected in this session has declined. There are not as many good movies as the previous session.

But I didn't agree. Then I accepted an interview with a reporter from Lockettke TV and faced the camera. I highly praised the three movies.

The first movie is Du Furenko's "Land". Du Furenko is the most distinctive director among all Soviet directors. He is different from Eisenstein and from Kurisov. The montage schools represented by Eisenstein are all rational people and people who pay attention to abstract thinking. Du Furenko and Vertov's movie eye school are also fundamentally different. In the Soviet Union, he is almost a person who can't get along with others because he is essentially a poet. His movies do not have Eisenstein's intense and technical skills, nor is it "real" that Vistov emphasizes, but have a unique poetic spirit. His shots are calm, showing a quiet world, and showing a peaceful lifestyle adopted by people when facing this huge world.

I like his movies very much. Especially this "Land", it can be said that this movie influenced a group of Soviet filmmakers later, including many film masters, such as Andrei Tarkovsky, the world's greatest directors praised this movie very much.

Du Fu Renke's "Land" pioneered the poetic films of the Soviet Union. It has a huge influence in the history of film. Now I am very excited to see it in the best foreign language nominations.

The second movie to recommend is naturally Zheng Zhengqiu's "A Little Worker". Although this is not his best movie, the realism displayed in the movie is exactly what filmmakers from all over the world need now.

What I admire most is Jean Vigo's "Impression of Nice"!

In the history of film, it may be difficult to rate the worst French movie. But if you want to rate the best movie, Jean Vigo's "Impression of Nice" will definitely be an answer that many people choose.

The movie was born in France. Since its birth, countless excellent film talents have emerged in France, but none of them have been so legendary about Jean Vigo's life. This person only lived 2 years old and died of tuberculosis. He only left 200 minutes of film in his life. Less than four movies, but only these 200 minutes of film made the world fall in love with it.

His films influenced a number of later film masters, such as Truffaut of New Wave Movie. He was known as "Rambo of the French film industry". If it weren't for his early death, no one would have suspected that he would become the greatest film director in the world.

This "Impression of Nice" is the most famous and excellent film of this genius director. It is called "a shining pearl in the world's film gallery". Although it is a documentary, Nice uses his artistic talent to make all those who pick up the camera feel ashamed of the evil wolf, including those French film masters.

I have a very good impression of Jean Vigo. I liked this young man very much at the meeting in France. I also reminded the European branch of DreamWorks to advise Bala to vigorously support the young man's film career. Over the past period of time, Bala strictly abides by my words and strongly supports Nice. Not only allocate enough funds to him, but also led him to the Gaumont Film Company, making him the director of one of the top companies in France, realizing Jean Vigo's desire to shoot movies freely.

This young man did not disappoint me. In just a short time, he filmed the movie "Impression of Nice". As soon as the movie came out, after being screened by Gaomeng Film Company, it immediately shocked the whole of France, and even the European continent went crazy about it.

This year, there are many good movies emerging in France. Not to mention anything else, Bunuel's "Golden Age" is an epoch-making masterpiece in film history. However, when the French declared, they did not choose Bunuel's "Golden Age" but chose Jean Vigo's "Impression of Nice". As for why the French had such a choice, on the one hand, they liked the latter's movies, and on the other hand, when Bunuel learned that his movies would be competing with Jean Vigo's movies to submit the best foreign language nomination for the Xavi Award, Bunuel directly found the French Ministry of Culture and asked to tear down his movies and replace them with Jean Vigo's "Impression of Nice". He told the officials of the Ministry of Culture: "Compared with Jean Vigo's movies, my movies are not as good as those. If "Golden Age" robbed the position of "Impression of Nice", I would be guilty for the rest of my life."

Bunuel is one of the best masters in Europe. He admires a young director's movie so well, and he formed Jean Vigo's movie so outstanding.

Hollywood filmmakers and American audiences who are familiar with me know that in general, I don’t know how to comment on movies. If I comment on movies, there are often only two possibilities: one is that this movie is an absolute masterpiece, and the other possibility is that this movie is really bad.

And Jean Vigo's movie obviously belongs to the former. So after my comment on "Impression of Nice" was broadcasted by Lockettec TV, the movie immediately set off a movie viewing frenzy. The audience wanted to see what the movie, which Andre Corleon called an immortal masterpiece, looked like, including many Hollywood filmmakers who had disdained the movie before.

After people watched this movie, a large number of comments on Jean Vigo's "Impression of Nice" immediately appeared in the media, which made this movie, which was not very long in the screening, attract unprecedented attention.
