Chapter 127 Invitation from the Film Federation

A week after DreamWorks’ Los Angeles fast food restaurant opened, I received an invitation from the American Federation of Directors. The invitation was asked by John to attend a meeting held in the middle of this month.

This directors' Federation was the predecessor of the later famous American Directors' Association. Ford has been the chairman of the Federation for 21 years. The basic members of this Federation are all less famous directors, so they have not had a great influence in Hollywood and are far from the glory they later.

"Boss, I think I'd better not go. The broken organization, although it sounds good, has only a few dozen people together, so I can't make any name." Stenberg said when he saw me looking at the invitation attentively, sitting lazily on the sofa opposite me.

At this time, I had just been discharged from the hospital for a few days and my health had basically recovered. After staying in the hospital for a long time, I felt uncomfortable all over.

"Stenberg, remember one thing. In the future, you can't just look at what it looks like now, but you have to consider it comprehensively. Take this Directors Federation for example. Now it has only a few dozen people and is not famous. But have you ever thought that the entire Hollywood has no independent organization that can unite filmmakers. Although there is a Code Executive Board on it, their work is relative to the directors, and it is not the director's own organization. The Directors Federation led by Ford will definitely gradually grow and grow in the future. At that time, you know what will happen without me telling you, right?"

Stenberg nodded repeatedly by me.

"Boss, are you going to join this director's federation?" Griffith took a sip of the cigar, and the room was smoky.

At DreamWorks, in my office, no one can squeak the cigarette except Griffith has such treatment. Although I smoke, I suck very little and only come when I am in a bad mood. I often tell these guys that smoking is harmful to health. In the office, smoking is absolutely forbidden, let alone in the studio.

However, Griffith is an exception. First of all, he is too addicted to smoking. He is probably older than mine. Letting him not smoke for an hour or two is tantamount to kill him. Also, whether in Hollywood or DreamWorks, he is the oldest and most authoritative person of his generation. Although I usually joke with him, everyone in the company knows that Griffith is the person I respect the most. It is normal for him to smoke in my office.

"Haha, the invitation said that the meeting will be held tonight. It was said that it was a meeting, and I guess it was a cocktail party. Anyway, I was so annoyed in the hospital. I went to see it and just act as a relaxing moment. Are you going?" I asked the few people sitting in the office.

Gans, Bala and Yassel shook their heads. They were not directors at all. In addition, the release of "Dracula Vampire" during this period made them dizzy, so they had no time to attend any cocktail party.

"Boss, we won't go anymore. We will talk to First National Film Company tonight." Barra shrugged.

"Where are you guys?" I pointed to the Stenborough.

"I'm going. I was so busy last time, but I haven't gone out for a long time. It's good to go shopping this time." Stenberg laughed twice.

Griffith finally sucked the cigar in his hand, and after he put it out, he blinked at me twice: "I don't have much activity in this old bone, so it's better to follow you to play."

Seeing Stenborough and Griffith like this, Dunar and Stiller also expressed their willingness to go and have fun.

"That's OK! We'll dress up tonight, let's go together." I smiled.

We were busy until evening. During dinner, Garbo and Julie rushed back from San Francisco. They went there to be responsible for the promotion of "Dracula Vampire". They went there for several days and saw that each of us was wearing formal clothes, which made the two women very strange.

"Boss, are you going to attend a banquet when you dress like this?" Jiabao straightened my tie and asked with a smile.

"Yes, today I attended a director's joint cocktail party. Are you going?" Seeing the hard-working look on the faces of the two of them, I felt a little sad.

Julie, who was standing by, heard this and immediately slapped her hands: "Really!? That's great! But boss, you are the cocktail party of the Directors Federation, we are actors, and I'm afraid it's not very suitable to go there."

The same is true for Jiabao: “Yes, boss.”

"Do you want to go?" Although Jiabao doesn't like socializing and attending any cocktail party, she will definitely go when everyone goes, especially if I go. Julie is born to like lively, and cocktail party is her favorite.

"I wonder! Why don't you not think about it? Boss, you don't know that when I went to San Francisco these days, Jiabao and I were almost bored. Apart from going to the cinema to attend the screening or entertaining reporters, they were hiding in the room to sleep, and they were so stuffy!" Julie pouted in complaining, which made everyone laugh.

"Jiabao, are you going?" I asked.

Jiabao was originally amused by Julie and laughed secretly. When he saw me asking her, a rosy color immediately appeared on his face. He lowered his head and said, "I'll go, that's fine."

"Okay, then everyone will go and have fun this time." I looked at my watch and then asked

Julie said, "It's almost six o'clock now. You can eat something, and then we'll set off on time at 7:30."

Because I was thinking about the cocktail party, and there must be something to eat at the cocktail party, everyone didn't eat much, and they put down their knife and fork in just over ten minutes. Garbo and Julie went upstairs to change their clothes, while Stenborough and a group of men were waiting downstairs bored.

"Stenborough, your car is pretty good!" I looked at a white car behind Stenborough, and smacked my lips.

Due to the sales of three DreamWorks movies, the value of these people has soared. Everyone probably has a lot of savings in their bank account, so those who buy cars buy cars buy houses. Among the few people, Griffith has long had a house and a car, and the others, even the lowest-value Stiller's car is much more advanced than mine. Later, I, the boss, drove the most broken car.

Since I bought it, I have never changed my car. The last time I was attacked, there were bullet holes everywhere in the car. I just asked Jack to drive to the repair shop to change the car.

"Boss, this car is Ford's latest model in several years. The seats inside are all leather. Not only are they comfortable to drive, but they are also very stable. I think your car should be replaced." Stenberg said with a smile.

As soon as he said this, the people around him immediately catered to him.

"Boss, I think Stenborg is right. Look at us all, not to mention cars, basically we have our own houses, but look at you, there is still no decent apartment. Look at Marskolov, Lemmer, and even our old rival Chaplin. Who doesn't have a dozen properties?!" Griffith lit a cigar, and Dunar next to him was so fumigated that he coughed for a long time.

"I forgot if you don't say it! Don't you have your own house now? Why do you still live in the company all day long?! Isn't this a waste of resources?" I scolded with a stern face.

"Hehehe." Stenborough smiled badly: "Boss, think about it, we all put work first and are convenient in the company."

"Get out! Stop coaxing me with words! I don't know your divine thoughts yet!? I said I was busy with work. Now that the movie has been filmed, are you still staying in the company all day long?! Are you home and not as busy as the company?! No matter what, there are a lot of beautiful women in the company, right?"

"Hehe, the boss is wise, the boss is wise." Stenberg narrowed his eyes with a smile at me.

Except for Griffith, these guys are nearly fifty people in their twenties, and have not married or had children. Stenberg is in his thirties. It was the golden age of a man. In addition, he became a darling in Hollywood social occasions. He could play with women, but he was very picky about his future wife's choice, so he has not met him until now.

As for Stiller, this guy has only one person in his heart in his life, that is, Garbo. No matter how beautiful other women are, they are not much different from an old sow in his eyes.

"You guys, hurry up and find a woman to start a family. If others don't say it, Dunar, you have to hurry up. They are nearly fifty people. If you don't worry, I will hurry up for you. I don't need to say more to other people. Our next generation of DreamWorks needs to have people who take over our class. This is the basis for the continuation of career. Otherwise, no matter how prosperous DreamWorks is in our hands, it will be broken." I said earnestly.

Dunar burst into laughter when I said, "Boss, stop talking about us, aren't you the same?"

"Me!" I was stuck in a sudden state of this guy's words: "Can you compare with me? I'm only in my early twenties now, so I can wait for thirty years. There is no problem with getting married in thirty years. Can you do it?"

I was so happy to see the crowd shaking their heads one by one.

Young is capital.

"Boss, women are okay to play with each other, but getting married is a big deal and they are not anxious. Besides, if you get married, men can't have fun as they used to." Stenberg smacked his lips with great experience, and before he finished speaking, I kicked him out.

"Get out! I don't know you guys yet, you're just a big flirty carrot! Stenberg, believe it or not, one day you will fall into the hands of a woman." I gave him a blank look.

"Boss, I know you're right, but I'm used to living alone for decades. If there are more women around me, I always feel uncomfortable." Although Dunar disagrees with Stenborough's point of view, he also has his own reasons.

"Stop talking, habits? What is a habit? It becomes a habit over time. If you have a woman by your side, you will feel uncomfortable? If you are uncomfortable for a day, you will feel uncomfortable for two days. After waiting for a year or two years, you will get used to it. You, hurry up."

Everyone talked nonsense, and only Stiller stood beside him without saying anything.

"Stiller, why don't you look for women until now?" Stevenberg saw Stiller visiting Sale and pointed his finger at him.

"Me?! I, I, I don't know, maybe I haven't found the right person." Stiller smiled awkwardly.

Looking at his appearance, my heart trembled.

As for why I tremble, I can't explain it clearly.

"Stop talking,

How could I not know what I thought?! There is no suitable woman?! Then the last time I went to your room, who was the photo you hurriedly stuffed into the drawer?" Stenberg immediately revealed Stiller's old secret.

"No! I don't have any woman I like! That photo is from my mother!" Stiller argued with a red face and a thick neck.

"Okay, OK, Stendburg, don't make things difficult for him. Stiller, you have to hurry up. There are so many beautiful women in Hollywood, if this one doesn't work, then that one, there must be someone suitable for you." I quickly comforted.

"That's, that's it, so don't worry, as long as we wave our hands, there are women, but not much youth! While we are young, we have to play for a few more years, otherwise we will lose a lot!" Stenberg continued my words and said proudly.

"Get out! Don't listen to him. This kid is a disaster now! It's a source of pollution!" I smiled.

A group of big men were whispering and pulling. Stenborg looked at his watch and shouted, "No, it's almost seven o'clock! These two women fell into the toilet when they were washing up, right?!"

"Don't you know women very well?? Don't you know that it takes time to dress up?" I sarcastically.

Everyone laughed. Before they could finish laughing, Gabbau and Julie walked down from above one after another.
