Chapter 4 The Sorrow of Spider-Man
On the roof.
Bede tightened his thin pajamas and wore a pair of large pants, shivering in the cold wind.
Next to him, stood the Shadow Spider-Man.
"I kind of regret this suggestion," Bede said tremblingly.
Shadow Spider's eyes kept wandering around the streets below, trying to find traces of Spider-Man in this world, and asked without looking back: "Why do you say that?"
Bede looked at the Shadow Spider. Inside was a black battle suit modified from a flight suit, and outside was a wide windbreaker that looked very warm at first glance. He said angrily: "I heard it from someone at home inexplicably.
I was getting ready to go to bed when I came here! I was so cold..."
The Shadow Spider turned its head, as if it had noticed Bede's embarrassment.
He quickly took off his coat and threw it to Bede: "If you don't mind, wear mine first, but I don't know if the world will accept my money. Maybe we can buy you something that fits you? But I don't have enough money.
It’s not much, I just can’t afford something too good.”
"Uh, it's okay, let's get down to business first. Your coat is quite warm, thank you," Bede put his coat over his pajamas. The windbreaker, which reached over his knees, still exposed his calves, but it was still better than nothing.
Strong.
And it’s more “aesthetic” than wearing big pants.
At least it’s not so embarrassing.
After the two of them stayed on the roof for half an hour, they still found nothing.
"Did I guess wrong? There is only Kingpin in this world and no Spider-Man?" Bede was a little unconfident.
Shadow Spider doesn't know what to do.
He suggested: "If it doesn't work, let's try the second plan and find out about Spider-Man, Peter Parker, Aunt May, Uncle Ben and...Mary Jane and others."

"Well, maybe you can also look for the Daily Bugle." Bede suggested.
Just when the two of them were about to turn around and go downstairs to the darker corner on the other side and onto the street.
On a big screen on the street not far away, a picture suddenly lit up:
On the screen, there is actually a Spider-Man wearing a blue and white spider suit!
"This is...Spider-Man Peter Parker!" Bede looked at the screen, a little excited.
There really is a Spider-Man in this world!
But, how could he appear on the big screen?
Before he could react, the pictures on the screen began to play.
The first thing that appeared was a female host in formal attire. She had a trace of sadness on her face and said slowly in a low tone:
"Now a special message, a heavy message."
"Our hero Spider-Man left us today. His death is related to another mysterious earthquake event that occurred in Brooklyn today."
"It has been confirmed by multiple sources that Peter Parker, a 26-year-old graduate student and part-time photographer, has been playing the role of Spider-Man for more than ten years..."
Then, a photo appeared on the big screen.
That’s a picture of a young man with blond hair!
The Spider-Man of this world, a picture of Peter Parker!
"There is also Spider-Man in this world, but he...is dead?" Both Bede and Shadow Spider stared blankly at the screen, somewhat unable to believe their eyes.
How did Spider-Man die?
In which work did he die?
Bede racked his brains and searched through the many movies, cartoons and games he had watched about Spider-Man in his mind, but he could not find any clues.
However, this Spider-Man looks a bit like Garfield Spider, but his hair color is different.
The hair colors of the few Spider-Men he knew were all black and brown, not blond.
There is no plot where Spider-Man dies!
The Shadow Spider on the side silently read the news on the screen, and then shrugged to Bede: "It seems that our plan has failed. Our companions in this world seem to be unlucky."
His words sounded a bit playful, but his voice was very deep.
Obviously, seeing the death of Spider-Man in this world was a big blow to him.
"In this case, we have to implement the second plan." Bede also felt a little sad.
Maybe it’s because my favorite hero suddenly passed away like this, or maybe it’s because I have similar abilities now, so I’m just like others.
Afterwards, the two of them stopped talking. After confirming the direction, they walked forward silently along the street.
They are in Brooklyn now, and the journey to Queens is not short.
Unfortunately, Bede is not the type who can produce his own spider silk, so even if he has the ability of Spider-Man, he will not be able to swing all the way with the Shadow Spider.
It's simply that they were searching and collecting information at the same time. Without a clear goal, they couldn't talk about being in a hurry.
And Shadow Spider's shadow suit is just like its name, it is very low-key. Even if you are walking on the street, it is difficult to attract the attention of others.
They first went to the Daily Bugle.
After all, it is a big company, so it is the easiest to find.
But it was late at night, and there was no one on duty in the building.
Bede could only lament that these people really have no 996 spirit.
I don’t want any blessings, alas!
In the next few hours, the two of them followed Shadow Spider's memory and went to find several more familiar addresses in his world.
But it is obvious that although they may be parallel universes, they are still very different.
In the end, both of them gained nothing.
Just when they were at their wits' end, they found a place that was bustling with people.
It was obviously late at night, but the lights were brightly lit, and it seemed that many people had gathered.
This is not very common in the environment of Eagle Country.
It’s almost midnight now!
The two looked at each other and decided to go and have a look.
They don’t have a clue now anyway.
Turning the corner, they finally saw the scene there.
In the open space in front of a single-family house, a large group of people stood.
There are reporters, residents bowing their heads in silence, and police officers.
However, what attracted the most attention were the two people surrounded by reporters.
Two women.
A mature woman who is about twenty-five or six years old, slender and well-proportioned, is very charming, but she is leaning on the threshold and crying silently.
The other is an old woman who looks to be in her fifties, with some gray hair. It can be seen from her expression that she must be very sad at the moment, but she is still holding back tears and dealing with the reporters.
"That's Mary Jane and Aunt May!" Shadow Spider said excitedly, striding forward.
However, Bede grabbed him and pulled him back to the corner to hide.
"Dude, what's wrong?" Shadow Spider was puzzled. They had been searching all night, and now they finally found it. Why didn't they go there?
But Bede pointed at the crowd of onlookers: "Look over there."
There was a stretched Lincoln sedan parked on the street, and a strong man in a white suit was sitting in the car.
His figure is round, like a sumo wrestler, and he is obviously wearing a specially made large suit, which is still bulging.
