62 Flax and Helen (Part 1)

My first official meeting with Helen Christopher was shortly after the town’s nightmare ended, in Anxu Town.

Helen Christopher, the sister of Alves Christopher "Hu Ma", said that this time it was a "official meeting" because there was a not-so-official meeting before. At that time, she was brought by the sheepskin killer as a prey, but in the end I was able to save my life because I solved the sheepskin killer in time.

The impression she gave me in that incident was nervous and cowardly, but now I realized that this was not her nature. She was really stronger and more chic than I thought. At the same time, she valued feelings, especially the feelings with her brother.

Things start with me and Hu Ma back to the real world.

After getting off the train, we did not turn around and leave Anxi Town, a place of right and wrong. As a policeman, Hu Ma has the responsibility to report the incident to the local police. He took me straight to the Anxi Town Public Security Bureau and focused on two things as a Beaver City policeman: one is that the withered believers once appeared here with gray uniforms hired from the black zone; the other is that the seal of the dream monster has loopholes that can be exploited by advanced dream technicians. The local police naturally attach great importance to this matter, but at the last moment, there was a loud thunder and little rain.

The reason is not that complicated. In the eyes of the local police, the whole incident was indeed thrilling, but it was neither about to happen nor is it happening, but it was an event that had been over. The withered believers appeared violently in Anxi Town, which must be taken seriously, but everyone and the gray uniforms were killed; the seal of the dream monster had loopholes, which was simply outrageous, but the Turin doctor, who was the initiator, also left quickly from the town. The local police tried to ask Huma about the appearance and real name of the Turin doctor in the real world, but whether Huma wanted to explain or not, he could not tell the reason. In addition, the Turin doctor did not cause material damage to Anxi Town, so the local police had to record the account first and settle the day before he could.

What they value most is nothing more than the loopholes in the Dream Monster Seal. However, this loophole is not so much that the technicians responsible for maintaining the seal are not doing their best, but rather that Doctor Torino is too tricky to find the loophole. She did not find the loopholes with sealing technology, but used her advanced dream technology to draw out the power of the Dream Monster.

The next afternoon, we walked out of the Public Security Bureau.

Hu Ma looked at my wink carefully and apologized to me, "I'm sorry, I've wasted so much of your time."

"Don't care, this is your duty." I comforted him in turn.

He nodded with grudges and asked, "Do you want to return to Beaver City first?"

"That's it..." I thought about it, and he looked at me silently.

I feel that he attaches more importance to my emotional changes than before.

The reason is that Xu Fu, the second-hand man, once used the incitement of the withered believer to push the prophet into a self-destructive ending.

I originally thought that the reason why Xu Fu, the second-level body, did that just because he "don't like" the prophet. This statement is rude, but if it were me, I would definitely not be able to accept being under the same ceiling as the "time bomb" like the prophet. It was only afterward that I reviewed the overall situation of the town's nightmare and realized that Xu Fu's motivation for the second-level body was probably different from what I thought.

He had probably realized that the relationship between the prophet and the nun is a "two-in-one". Among them, the prophet plays the role of the "sinner"; and the nun plays the role of the "judge". After the prophet breaks the agreement with the nun and attracts the dead and the living dead, things should have developed into a situation where the "interrogator" judges the "sinner" in public, and ends with the punishment of the "sinner", and the dream will also end like this. However, at this critical moment, he suddenly intervenes and forces the prophet to death with his own hands.

His real purpose is to postpone the "departure time" of the town's nightmare.

And, not to prolong his life, otherwise he would not have committed suicide so decisively in front of me.

He wanted to buy me more time.

In his opinion, if the town nightmare ends too early, then the violent will be able to return to reality and kill Doctor Torino immediately. There is actually a misunderstanding. Although he grasped the truth of "two-in-one" faster than me, he may not have grasped the truth of "the dream beyond the town nightmare is also a dream". However, although there is probably such a misunderstanding, he still helped me in the end. If the town nightmare really ends too early, then I will not be able to get the poisonous short knife, and I will not be able to get the violent result with this.

But after all, this is just my speculation. I have nowhere to verify his true thoughts.

Just as I thought of this, I suddenly realized that I and Hu Ma were being followed.

But instead of looking back, I changed the booking of "return immediately", and then said: "It's rare to come here, you can't just go to the Public Security Bureau to visit. Do you have any places you want to go? Let's take a look together."

"Well..." Hu Ma pondered, "How about the museum?"

“Want to know the history of Sakura?”

"Yes." He nodded quite seriously.

We began to move towards the museum. On the way, he finally couldn't help asking: "Is there really no way to save the dream monster from the nightmare?"

"You've been thinking about this kind of thing all the time?" I asked.

"Although the prophet did bad things, it was just because of the nightmare that he did this. I could feel that his nature was still quite kind, otherwise he would never regret it to the ending." He didn't know that the nun was also a mirror of the dream monster, and he didn't know that the reason he could survive was because she saved his life, but he was still saying good things about the dream monster, "A good person like him should not suffer endlessly in the nightmare."

"Of course it shouldn't be." I said, "but unfortunately, there is nothing we can do now."

"That's it..." He was a little hit, and then worried about other things, "Will he be dragged into the abstract universe after staying in the nightmare? I heard that dreams are quite close to the abstract universe."

"It's not that easy." I shook my head, "For example, if the abstract universe is an ocean, then the dream is the sea surface. Although the sea surface is also part of the ocean, for a three-dimensional ocean, the two-dimensional sea surface does not occupy a volume."

I continued, "In other words, for the abstract universe, dreams do exist, but they are no different from non-existence. This nature of dreams makes it not easily fall into it even though it is close to the abstract universe."

"So that's it..." He realized something, and then asked some questions, and I answered them one by one.

He admired: "You know so much. Where did you know this?"

I was about to answer, but at this moment, his dog ears were alertly upright and his face suddenly became serious.

Three seconds later, he said seriously and quietly, and like sharing a shocking secret, "I discovered something very bad."

"What's up?"

"We were followed!" he said with confidence.
