Chapter 09: The Hearing(2/2)
It was an uninhabited and quiet square. There was also a fountain in the middle that had been frozen for many years. This surprised Jones, and even wondered if the castle was originally here.
The large area of the blood clan walked up the steps, left a series of vague footprints on the square covered by ice and snow, and then walked into the main entrance.
Immediately afterwards is a long trail. There are rough stone bricks under the feet, and the arched stone rings on the top. Looking through the fences on both sides, there is a frozen garden. Yes, the frozen garden is still the same, but it is covered with a layer of white frost, as if it will break when touched.
Jones soon noticed a key point.
“No one here?”
“This is where the elders live.”
"No, I mean the one who serves the elders. I saw no one. There were no guards, and no servants."
"Um..." Adael's housekeeper replied hesitantly: "I don't know this. I have been with the young master several times, and it's all like this."
Gradually, the people who came to attend the hearing stood in front of a huge stone gate at the end of the trail.
At this moment, Adal suddenly squeezed over from a distance and trotted all the way. Behind him were chasing several Sambo's guards, looking extremely embarrassed.
After the eyes of Jones were intertwined, the guards stopped quickly and did not dare to move forward.
Crushing to Jones, Adair said breathlessly: "They...they said, your adoptive father is dead. Now sitting in the Lich King's position is actually your younger brother Ritchie."
Hearing this sentence, Jones was stunned.
Adair continued: "My father told me that I should draw a clear line with you immediately, and even the Sambo family's investment in Giant Snake City is ready to be ignored. This is the conclusion reached by the seven princes. Is it true?"
As he said that, Adair reached out and wiped the corner of his mouth, saying that he was anxious, and the saliva fell off. Then he stared at Jones in a daze.
There was quiet around, and everyone was quietly waiting for the stone door to open.
Belle beside him was shocked. However, Dora, Guya, and Lich, Jones' confidants were very calm because they had known the news for a long time.
Jones was silent and asked for a while: "Whether my adoptive father is here or not, will it have anything to do with this hearing?"
"I...I don't know either. This news is too sudden. I haven't reacted to any chain reaction. The key is... this news was passed down by the veterans..." Adair reached out and patted his head anxiously: "Tell me first if this news is true."
Before Jones could answer, suddenly, a harsh roar came. In the vibration, bits of debris shook off from the dome. The stone door slowly opened.
What appeared in front of everyone was a quaint hall with a large scale like an arena.
The ring is entered, and the stone gate continues along the stone path. It is a platform full of totem carvings in the middle of the hall. Around the platform are steps, enough to sit down everyone.
They were facing each other, just in front of the platform, there was a hanging tower. There were rows of stone high-back chairs on it. The back of the chair in the center was a little higher than the others.
At this moment, figures were already sitting on those high-backed chairs. Maybe it was backlighting, or maybe it was because of some magical power that Jones could not see their faces clearly, let alone who they were.
The blood clans who came to the meeting flocked by Jones, and after entering the stone gate, they walked up to the steps-style auditorium through the passages on both sides of the stone gate.
In a blink of an eye, only Jones and his party were left outside the stone gate. The surroundings were empty.
Both Adair and Belle were frightened.
Jones stood quietly, staring at the figure on the platform from afar, silently.
The blood clans who had already sat in the auditorium were all looking at Jones quietly, and the atmosphere seemed to freeze in an instant.
"I understand." After a while, Jones stretched out a hand towards Dora behind him: "Material."
"Which one is Mr. Jones?"
"all."
"Okay." Dora quickly handed over a thick stack of materials prepared for the hearing.
After taking the material, Jones held it in his hand and pulled it hard, and tore it all in front of the elders. Then, he threw it casually.
"Let's go in."
