Chapter 25: Between Black and White (3)

There are stars in the sky.

The town of Buck is silent. However, the ubiquitous soldiers and the braziers arranged along the streets always remind everyone that something major happened here that shocked the entire continent just over a month ago.

The dim red flames almost made the entire town red. Even in the middle of the night, there were still teams of soldiers coming and going on the streets.

On the balcony of a mansion in the middle of the town, Shelley sat quietly and looked into the distance. Her eyes were already red and swollen from crying.

What she was opposite was the main road of the town. It led to the east and to the stretching Cazes Mountains. The clouds in the distance were low, as if pressing on the mountains, and they formed endless darkness together.

That is a place where the moonlight cannot shine.

Shelley sat quietly, dazed, waiting. The blue, peaceful moonlight shone on her, reflecting a blue long dress.

On the balcony next to it, Li Wei stood with his hands on his hands, and occasionally glanced at Shelley from the corners of his eyes.

In the prison underground in the mansion, fifty dwarves were locked in a small space wearing thick shackles, crowded. The snoring, teeth grinding, and sleeping sounds came one after another. The only sober mallet was lying in a daze.

Just apart from them, there was a magic circle with faint white light. Catherine, who was covered in wounds, curled up and hugged her knees. There was no trace of her gaze, and the feathers on her wings were already falling apart.

The Silver Moon Knights and Bone Horses, who had lost their magical response, were piled up in another prison like cargo, quietly mixed with the bodies of several dead dwarves.

The worst thing is Andrew. He lost one hand and one leg, was locked by iron chains, and even his mouth was blocked. He could only "whimper" in vain and a vague sentence. A fly fell on his forehead. He shook his head desperately, but his neck was locked and the shaking was not large enough, so the fly just didn't leave.

For an elf, this is probably despair.

"Do you think someone will come to save you?" Li Wei asked Shelley.

"No." Shelley turned his face and said softly to Levi: "I hope he doesn't come to save us, go back to the Principality of Besheir, bring reinforcements, and then come back to tear you apart."

"Have you come back with a group of dark creatures? Haha, I've been with him for so long, and you don't even know that there are a group of dark creatures around him." Li Wei raised his head slightly and said, "Did you see the small house in front? The orange building. Two small blood tribes are struggling inside."

...

In the small house, Jones and Dora, who had taken off their armor, were looking anxiously in the direction of the mansion.

"We should move closer and then sneak up at night to save a few people. Then we have more people, and we can save more!"

"Idiot! That's a group of first-class angels! If we accidentally have to go in, how can we save people?"

"What should we do? We can't save them?"

"We can only wait for that guy to come back. We can't deal with the first-class angels, and we can't even deal with their fingers."

"But... they said he was dead."

"Who said that?"

"Neighbor next door..."

"Why do you listen to those kind of nonsense?" Jones sneered: "Our bone horse can still move, which means he is not dead and his magic has not been completely cut off. As long as we stay here, he will definitely come back. We will save people whenever we have the chance."

"Yeah!" Dora nodded heavily.

...

Holding the fence on the balcony, Levi whispered: "They thought we didn't find them, but they didn't know that they were bait themselves. I heard that the Angel Judgment Team was chasing Vivian. Soon, Gray was losing even the power from hell."

"No matter what means he uses, he will definitely come back." Taking a deep breath, Shelley said stubbornly: "Even if he is with the dark creatures, he is the kindest and most upright Paladin in my heart. He will definitely defeat you."

Li Wei sneered: "No human on this continent can defeat us."

"It's not just humans..." Shelley said blankly in the distance: "No creature in this world can defeat my Paladin, nor can the Holy Spirit."

...

In the cave, Grey sat quietly, staring at the bonfire that had gradually become smaller.

The full black cat was already lying beside the side and started to sniff.

"What are you thinking?" Vivian asked.

Gray quickly turned his face.

Vivian put her face on her knees and asked softly: "You don't have to sleep or rest. So if you don't talk, you must be thinking about something."

Grey lowered his head, picked up a piece of wood and threw it into the bonfire, and said, "I'm wondering how to save Shelley and the others."

"You still want to go back and save them... Four first-class angels. I can't even beat one."

"But I have to go and save it. Not only Shelley and the others, but also Gene II and Camilla. Those who keep their promises should have a good result, not be harmed by it."

"Save me, save Shelley, save Gene II...you want to save the whole world." Vivian looked at the burning bonfire and whispered: "I think the Holy Spirit does not have as great ambition as you. Alternative ambitions are not conquest, but salvation. To become a living justice walking in the world, this requires strength, great strength. But you don't. If you are a lich over 10,000 years old, I don't think they would not treat you like this. I dare not."

...

The angels outside the cave were lurking quietly, waiting.

...

"Like Brutu? No angel dares to provoke him casually." Gray lowered his head and said, "And I have to wait another ten thousand years... but they can't wait. The late justice is not justice. What's more, the late justice is justice."

"If there is a real justice in this world who is walking and living, how could a demon become a demon?"

"Have you promised me to stick to the divine faith together?"

"I mean other demons." Vivian said with a smile on his knees: "Gray, if they really come here, don't save me."

"Why? Don't you want to die?"

"Because you really can't save it. The contract between the Holy Spirit and the Demon Lord is not a paladin, a demon, or an angel that can be easily changed. I want you to live and live well. Be a powerful, just lich. Promise me to keep your current thoughts and not let anyone pollute you. There are too many powerful existences in this world, and their power is so powerful that we cannot look up to. I don't know what they used to be, but after they are powerful, they have no faith. Because they are faith themselves... The Holy Spirit is not worthy of your trust, and the demon is not worthy of it. You just need to believe in yourself, live well... Living until the day when you are strong enough."

"But if...if... if...I don't believe in the Holy Spirit, what else can I use to negotiate with them and what can I use to save you?"

"Anyway, I hope you remember what I said." Vivian smiled sweetly and looked at Gray.

...

The angel lurking outside the cave suddenly froze and turned around.

He saw the white light in the starry sky. It was the Angel Judgment Group. With himself and Abold, a total of forty-eight first-class battle angels, and a wise angel.

...

Grey stood up slowly with his sword, staring at Vivien and said, "I will not give up my faith in the Holy Spirit. I will not give up my faith before the Holy Spirit told me personally that they would give me. They gave me the life of the divine faith, and I will always hold on. But this does not mean that I will compromise. I will not wait or give up on you. Retreat and compromise are itself a denial of the divine faith. If I cannot save the whole world, then I will save myself from what I can. I have said that I am not afraid of death, but what I fear is the destruction of faith. Only the divine faith that is firm and unwavering is the divine faith."

"I just like you." Vivian smiled sweeter: "No one can convince you, he is stubborn. He is more like a demon than a demon. I can feel at ease with you."

Speaking of this, the smile on Vivian's face slowly disappeared, leaving only plainness, staring at Gray quietly.

"They are here."

...

"Grey! Grey! It's me, Abold!" Abold stood in front of the cave and shouted helplessly.

Behind him were the forty-eight angels. The white light emitted from their bodies even illuminated the woods in front of the cave. Belinda, the presiding judge, was among them. This was a female angel with long golden hair and four white wings that were different from other angels. She was wearing a white robe, barefoot, and a white human face mask with only eyes and nose and no lips. No one could see her face clearly.

"Grey! Come out! I want to talk to you!" Abold continued to shout helplessly.

"When he comes out, we sneak into the cave and take Vivian away. In this way, nothing will happen." The angels whispered.

However, they were wrong.

Gray walked out with Vivian's hand.

All the angels were stunned.

Holding Vivian's hand, Gray walked step by step, until the angels and knelt down on one knee.

Vivian also knelt down with a blank expression.

"Hello, dear judge Belinda, I am the Paladin Gray, the Paladin enthroned by the Holy Spirit, the only saint on the continent, and a lich. I know your purpose and cannot stop it. But I hereby plead for you to forgive the sins Vivian committed. She is now my disciple. I am willing to forgive her with the privilege of being a Paladin, to bring her by her side, to guide her, and to enlighten her until she fully accepts the divine faith and becomes a member of us. If you refuse, then I am willing to exchange everything for her freedom, including my life, and I am willing to bear all the punishment for her. Please accept the prayer of a devout believer for the sake of the divine faith."

As he said that, Gray cut a cross on his chest devoutly, slowly raised his head and looked at Belinda.

The wind blew gently, and the leaves under the glimmer were shining, shaking gently in the wind.
