Chapter 230 Asia Minor Fleet

The Asia Minor Combined Fleet stationed in the Haricanasus Port knew very well. They even knew that there were hundreds of Dionian warships escorting these fleets, and later nearly 100 warships from the Greek city-state were added. Apart from this, no other enemy fleets were heard of invading the Aegean Sea. The number of warships in the Asia Minor Combined Fleet was twice that of the other side. Therefore, after discussion, the Asia Minor Fleet decided to head north to the Missia waters to capture the fighter planes.

In early November, the Asian Minor fleet headed north in a mighty way. By the time it reached the waters near the entrance of the Hellespont, the Greek coalition fleet, which had already received the news, had already fled. The Asian Minor fleet, which was unwilling to return empty-handed, made a move south at dusk, but in fact it quietly entered the port of Ilesus on the island of Lesvos, not far south of the landing of the Dionian army.

Lesvos Island has two large claws similar to crabs. The two large claws have not completely closed. A bay has formed in the center. The entrance is facing the south and departs from the Hellespont Strait. It has temporarily concealed the Greek coalition forces, causing the Greek coalition to sail unpreparedly to the waters near Irion on the second day. When a fleet of 70 cargo ships of the Greek coalition forces sailed unpreparedly to the waters near Irion, the Asian Minor fleet suddenly appeared and attacked it, almost destroying the entire fleet.

When the attack of the Asia Minor fleet was approaching, the Fourth Fleet of Dionia rushed over. The Persian Asia Minor fleet immediately gathered the warships and set up their formations to fight them.

Given that the number of warships was too great, the Fourth Fleet of Dionia rationally chose to retreat, while the Persian Asia Minor fleet was a little tired and had no intention of fighting again because of the previous pursuit of the Greek cargo ships that fled in all directions. Then they returned to the Port of Ilesus.

On the 2nd, the Asia Minor fleet appeared again in the waters near the entrance to the Hellespont Strait, but no trace of the Greek coalition fleet and fleet was found. They patrolled for most of the day, found nothing, and finally returned in disappointment.

On the evening of this day, senior generals of the Asia Minor Fleet held a military meeting and discussed the issue of "whether the fleet will return to Halicarasus as soon as possible."

Most of the naval generals from the Greek city-state of Asia Minor believed that: "The Greek coalition has learned lessons due to yesterday's failure. As long as we are still here, their fleets may not appear. The Asia Minor fleet has a large number of crew members, and Lesvos Island obviously cannot provide enough supply, and it is more troublesome to obtain materials from the nearby coastal city-states of Asia Minor. More importantly, the Asia Minor fleet has already alarmed the snakes, and logistics supply is very important to the Greek coalition. The Kingdom of Dionia will never give up and they will definitely send reinforcements. Don't forget that the Dionians have thousands of warships!"

Persian naval generals believed: "Although the Asian Minor fleet has achieved some record, it is not enough to boast about Fanabazos, nor is it enough to attract the attention of the Persian king. Even if the Greek coalition fleet is avoiding the attack of the fleet, the fleet may not achieve any obvious record in the future. However, as long as the fleet exists in this sea area for one more day, the supply of the Greek coalition will be cut off for one day, making the Greek coalition afraid, and providing support to the still-formed Asia Minor Army.

As for the logistics supply issue, they don’t need to worry about it. As long as they ask Fanabazos for help, he will naturally write a letter asking the nearby areas to take the initiative to provide assistance to the entire fleet. So far, there has been no news that other fleets of Dionia appeared in the Aegean Sea. Even if they really intend to attack, it is not possible in the short term. The Asia Minor fleet can rest assured to stay here for a few more days and gain more military achievements."

Although most of the warships of the Asian Minor Fleet were provided by Greek city-states, the command was in the hands of the Persians. They insisted on it, and the Greek city-state naval generals naturally could not object. So the Asian Minor Fleet continued to cruise in this sea the next day, but when they returned to their base at dusk, they received amazing news: a fleet of Dionians, with an astonishing number of warships, appeared near the waters of Kos Island, and headed north along the coast of western Asia Minor.

It turned out that after receiving the order from the Ministry of Military Affairs, Seclian, Midorades, and Stefakas, after some discussion, made a decision not to allow the fleet to go to Crete for the time being. After all, thousands of warships were dispatched, and the momentum was too loud, it was difficult not to attract attention. It would inevitably arouse the enemy's vigilance and not achieve the effect of leading a snake out of the hole. In addition, the port conditions of Crete must support the long-term station of the three fleets.

It was a big difficulty, so they decided to let the three major fleets go to Mesenia and Lagnia first. As the most important relay station between the Holy Kingdom of Dionysia and the Greek mainland, the affiliated areas of these two kingdoms have vigorously built port facilities during the past few years, which can fully meet the needs of the fleet and crew. The fleet is stationed on the southern coast of Peloponnese, and closely monitors the movements of the western coast of Asia Minor. Once a fighter jet appears, it will attack quickly.

After Davers agreed to their suggestions, the three major fleets were stationed in Mesenia and Laconia. They were almost unmoved and occasionally trained to cultivate tacit understanding between the fleets. They only drew a few warships and carried out in the bay.

Since the southern Peloponnese waters are now the heart of the sphere of influence of the sacred Kingdom of Dionys in the Eastern Mediterranean, merchant ships from Persia and Asia Minor are simply impossible to enter, so the Persians have no idea that all the sacred fleets of Dionys in the Western Mediterranean have moved eastward.

Compared with the strict control of the western waters of the Eastern Mediterranean, Persia's management of the eastern waters is relatively loose, especially on the western coast of Asia Minor. Dionia has laid out a lot of eyeliners here. Therefore, the Persian Asia Minor fleet was just established and the Dionia fleet soon found out.

A few days after the Asia Minor fleet headed north, the three major fleets of Dionia left the port and advanced eastward together. Thanks to the vigorous promotion and funding of Greek allies in the past few years, the Dionia fleet not only could receive timely water replenishment on nearby islands when crossing the Aegean Sea, but also could also rush at night when the climate was good. Therefore, when the Dionia fleet approached the coast of Asia Minor, the Asia Minor fleet was still cruising in the Hellespont.

After hearing the news, the generals of the Asia Minor Fleet had no confidence in fighting with the three major fleets of Dionia, which had far exceeded their own warships. They also had the time to provide help to the army and immediately decided to lead the fleet back south. In order to avoid colliding with the Dionia fleet, after passing through Kaios Island, the Asia Minor Fleet began to move away from the coast, attempting to sail southwest and circle a large circle to avoid the Dionia fleet.

Who knew that in order to prevent missing the enemy, the commanders of the Dionian fleet specially arranged the Second Fleet to approach the sea, the First Fleet was remote, and the Third Fleet was connected in the middle. Each fleet widened the front, like a large open net, which wanted to trap the big fish of the Asia Minor Fleet.

It should be said that the Asia Minor Fleet was a little lucky. A merchant ship passing by the western city-state of Asia Minor kindly reminded the Asia Minor Fleet that "the Dionian Fleet is coming towards them in front of them." The Persian generals who learned the news were immediately panicked: Faced with the step-by-step pressing of the Dionian Fleet, the Asia Minor Fleet could no longer continue to detour westward, otherwise the fleet would penetrate into the sphere of influence of the Dionian Fleet in the Aegean Sea. If there is no supply, it will soon collapse without fighting. Therefore, there is only one way in front of them. Let the fleet approach the coast of Asia Minor as soon as possible and hide in the port of a town to avoid the fate of destruction.

So the Asia Minor fleet turned around urgently and rushed straight eastward, passing through Samos Island, and attempted to enter the port of Ephesus before the Dionys fleet caught up.

Ephesus is a big city on the coast of the western Asia Minor. Not only is the city high and thick walls, but it is also rich in supplies. The Asia Minor fleet can completely hide in it for a long time until the Dionian fleet has to leave.

The Persians had a good idea, but unfortunately the Deonian fleet was already prepared. The second fleet led by Midolades quickly passed through the narrow Strait of Samos, and the warships spread out in the waters near Ephesus to block the east escape of the Asia Minor fleet.

The generals of the Asian Minor fleet, who learned about the situation ahead through the Clippers, faced a dangerous situation where there were interceptions in front and pursuers behind. They were like ants on a hot pan, panicked and at a loss. With no choice, they led the fleet to flee into the Port of Samos, which was closest to them.

Samos is only a narrow strait separated from the western continent of Asia Minor, which led to it being one of the Ionian islands, just like Bosworth Island. It was once one of the important members of the Tyro Alliance established by Athens. Later, after the Corinthian War, Athens' strength gradually recovered and it joined the maritime alliance of Athens again. However, Athens was defeated by Diodea. Compared with the Dioonia, which was far away in the Western Mediterranean, which made Samos feel strange, the Samos were closer to Persia. Later, it was attracted by some decrees issued by the Persian king to win over the Greeks in western Asia Minor and quell the rebellion faster, and finally turned completely to Persia.

When the Asia Minor fleet fled into the port, the three major fleets of Dionia arrived soon. The sentries on the port lighthouse and the sentry on the post tower looked at the Dionia warships that were paved outside the sea outside the port, and all felt their scalp numb.

However, the Summers, who had provided more than a dozen warships to the Asia Minor fleet, felt lucky: Although the Dionia fleet was powerful, they could not launch an attack from land after all, nor could they stay here for a long time, and would soon leave helplessly.
