Chapter 34 Family Crisis

Su Yang woke up the next day, still confused. When he opened his eyes in a daze, he found that he was lying in a familiar place.

He raised his eyes and looked at the alarm clock beside the bed.

Eleven fifty-six.

She sat up and covered her head, feeling pain in her head.

I lifted the quilt and stood up. My vision went dark. I felt that the world was turbid, the surroundings were quiet, and my head was dizzy.

This damn hangover!

Su Yang curled his lips.

In her previous life, she had been struggling in the workplace countless times. A few bottles of beer were nothing. In the first few years when she went to S city, in the occasions where she drank and drank, she vomited.

Keep drinking. Not to mention that you can drink a thousand cups, but you have also developed a skill.

The atmosphere last night was quite noisy and she was not in a good mood, so she drank two glasses of beer, but she forgot that she was no longer the Su Yang she used to be.

This little fourteen-year-old is drinking alcohol for the first time.

No matter how low the alcohol content of beer is, it still contains alcohol.

Su Yang's wine was very good, and he didn't go crazy or make trouble after drinking too much. When people who didn't know it saw him, they just felt that he was no different from usual. Only the person involved knew that his mind had already started to feel dizzy.

But she didn't say.

He sat on the chair and watched them obediently. He didn't talk much and didn't make any noise. He was more obedient than usual.

After playing, Cheng Cen and the others saw that she had fallen asleep, so they thought she was tired. Little did they know that this girl had actually passed out from drunkenness.

Does no one really know?

Su Yang held the head of the bed and stood for a while before regaining consciousness.

She patted her head and opened the door to go to the toilet to wash up.

When passing by the living room, he saw Su Mu lying carelessly on the sofa.

"There is honey water in the kitchen." Su Mu turned his back to Su Yang and did not look back. His eyes were fixed on the TV series, but he seemed to understand everything.

Su Yang said "hmm" and went to the kitchen to drink a few mouthfuls of honey water before entering the toilet.

After washing up and coming out, Su Yang pushed Su Mu's legs away, sat on the sofa, held his head in his hands, and asked, "Did you carry me back?"

"Wrong." Su Mu turned around and smiled very wickedly, "I dragged you back."

"..." Su Yang looked into Su Mu's eyes and stared for a while, "Su Mu."

"?" Su Mu raised his eyes.

"Only honest children are cute."

"!!!" Who is so cute?

Su Yang was very familiar with Su Mu's awkward character. He was obviously the most considerate person, but he always put on a bad face.

Su Yang thought of the sweet honey water just now, and a smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

"Where's mom?" Today is the weekend, so logically I shouldn't be working.

"I went out to buy groceries." Su Mu looked at the TV without looking back.

"It's already twelve o'clock now...when did she go out?"

"About nine o'clock." Su Mu frowned, obviously sensing something was wrong.

Su Yang's home is close to the outskirts of the city, but it has convenient transportation and good infrastructure. There are also vegetable markets and kindergartens nearby, making it a very suitable place to live. It was because the housing prices here were cheap and the environment was good that Su Heng scraped together the money to pay the down payment.

The vegetable market is not far from home, but you have to take a bus to get there. On weekends, in order to save money, Chen Mei is used to walking to buy vegetables. It takes about an hour to walk back and forth, plus the cost of shopping.

Time, two hours is more than enough.

Now, Chen Mei has been out for three hours and has not returned yet. Su Yang's doubts are not unreasonable.

Just when Su Yang decided to go out to look for Chen Mei, the door opened.

When the two of them turned around, they saw Chen Mei coming back with a vegetable basket in her hand and her face turned pale.

Su Yang felt nervous and quickly stood up to help Chen Mei.

Su Mu stood up, took the vegetable basket, and carried the vegetables into the kitchen.

"Mom, what's wrong with you?"

Chen Mei waved her hands, breathing unsteadily, "It's okay, it's okay, I'm just a little tired. Maybe I've been too tired from work recently. I just need to take a rest."

Su Yang helped Chen Mei sit down on the sofa, "Then sit down first and I'll get you slippers."

Su Yang took the slippers and knelt down to put them on Chen Mei. The moment he took off his shoes, he frowned.

Su Yang stared at Chen Mei's feet for a while before speaking, "Mom, besides feeling tired, do you feel uncomfortable in any way?"

"What's going on?" Su Mu came out of the kitchen, saw Su Yang's expression was not good, and noticed something.

"Mom's feet are swollen."

As soon as Su Yang finished speaking, the sound of opening the door came from outside.

Su Heng opened the door and saw the two children looking bad, and Chen Mei sitting on the sofa looking very tired.

"What's wrong with you?"

Su Heng put the key on the coffee table and walked over.

"It's okay, I just came back late, so these two kids made a fuss." Chen Mei said with a smile.

Su Yang pursed his lips, took off Chen Mei's socks without saying a word, and then lifted up his trousers, "Just take a look."

Chen Mei pursed her lips. Su Heng stared at Chen Mei's swollen feet and calves with a serious and angry expression.

"When did it start?" he asked Chen Mei.

Chen Mei rolled her eyes and said, "Some time ago, I just felt tired easily and felt uncomfortable. I didn't think much about it..."

"Why are you hiding your poor health? If you don't tell me you are sick, will your illness be cured?"

"I don't want to save some money for my family. If there is no big problem, it will cost a lot more to go to the hospital and check this and that..." The rest of the words were swallowed by Su Heng's stormy eyes.

Chen Mei lowered her head, with a tired and sad look on her face.

"It's better to go to the hospital for a check-up first." Su Mu seemed to sigh, looking a little unnatural.

"I'll go tomorrow. It's noon now and you haven't eaten yet. I'll go make it for you after I take a break..."

"No! Go right away!"

Su Heng took the wallet, helped Chen Mei up, turned to Su Yang and Su Mu and said, "You two stay at home and cook by yourself when you are hungry. You don't have to wait for us."

Brother Su Mu nodded, and Su Heng took Chen Mei to the hospital with a sullen face.

Su Yang cooked at noon, ate some with Su Mu, then put down the bowls and chopsticks and went into the room. Su Mu finished the last bite of the meal in silence, packed the bowls and chopsticks into the kitchen, washed them carefully, wiped them dry, and put them in the cupboard.

Entered the room.

While waiting, time passed very long. Su Yang finished his homework and read a novel for a while. It was not until after five o'clock that he heard the sound of the door opening outside.

Su Yang opened the door, and Su Mu also came out of the room, and the two met face to face.

Su Heng followed Chen Mei without saying a word, with a serious expression.

Su Yang and Su Mu looked at each other and sat down on either side of Chen Mei.

"Have the test results come out?"

Su Heng took out the inspection report and handed it to Su Yang.

Su Yang pulled out the first piece of paper, and she was dazzled by the densely packed words on it. Among them, the words "nephrotic syndrome" were imprinted on her mind like a brand, and she felt that her hangover was getting worse.
