Chapter 5 Bargaining
In the autumn courtyard, occasionally leaves fall.
After stepping out of the yard, Su Ye saw a middle-aged man in a white robe lying on a light brown slanted bed, leisurely flipping through the brown papyrus book. Occasionally, fine pieces of papyrus fell, and the maid next to him carefully picked it away.
Su Ye's nose moved slightly, the tea smelled faintly, and his eyes fell on the teapot on the table, unlike what Greece should have in this era.
The middle-aged foreman walked over in small steps and whispered beside Kelton.
Kelton raised his head, handed the papyrus book to the maid on the side, and looked at Su Ye quietly, with a faint warmth appearing in his brown pupils.
Su Ye met Kelton's gaze without fear.
At this time, most of the Greeks were thin, but Kelton's appearance was as tall and strong as a Greek statue, with deep eyes, deep eyes, straight nose, and black curly hair, which was enough to become an excellent sculptural model.
Su Ye suddenly stared at Kelton's left ring finger. The silver double snake-titled ruby ring was particularly eye-catching. The moment he saw it, his eyes even stinged slightly.
What made Su Ye’s eyes sting was not the big ruby, but one of the eyes of the two snake heads and four emeralds.
Kelton did not stand up and said with nostalgia: "I have heard of your parents and I feel deeply regretful. Your parents are real craftsmen, and I like to eat your father's bread the most. If you need help, as long as I can do it, I will never refuse."
Su Ye felt that Kelton was talking and his eyes quickly swept across his body.
"I don't need help." Su Ye raised his chest appropriately, showing a very stubborn look.
Kelton slowly stood up, sat upright on the slanted bed, showing a kind smile, and said, "What do you want?"
Su Ye sighed lightly and said, "I have had a dream since I was a child to become a great magician and use magic to make the world better. Later, my parents exhausted their family wealth and sent me to Plato Academy. Now, someone took advantage of my parents' death to snatch my house, which made me unable to continue my studies at Plato Academy and become a magician. So, I will make a deal with you to let me continue my studies."
"What deal?" Kelton's expression moved slightly.
Hake, who had originally looked up at the sky, turned to look at Su Ye, as if he was going to get to know the child again.
"A deal that can make the Dolphin River famous may even make your name spread throughout Greece and the whole world." Su Ye said.
"Is it a good reputation or a bad reputation?" Kelton stood up, still smiling, but the powerful aura of the silver warrior spread silently.
Su Ye suddenly had an illusion that Kelton in front of him turned into a ten-meter-high giant with a hideous smile.
"I have a food recipe left by my parents!" Su Ye said in a deep voice, with a subtle sadness in his voice, his eyes drooping slightly, and his gaze shifted from Kelton to the lower table beside him.
On the way, Su Ye thought about this action dozens of times.
Kelton was stunned, restrained his breath, nodded, and said, "Continue."
Su Ye shook his head and said, "I don't want to say too much. In short, I have a food recipe carefully studied by my parents, worth tens of thousands of gold, but I am willing to sell it for a thousand gold Zeus today."
Kelton looked at Su Ye and smiled silently.
He flipped his right hand and a golden coin lay in the palm of his hand. The front carved a majestic and blurred side face, Zeus, the king of the gods.
He flicked his thumb, and the gold coins flew in the air, making a buzzing sound, and the golden light flashed randomly, and finally fell back to the palm of his hand, facing upwards.
"The Golden Eagle is always so charming," Kelton said.
On the back of the gold coin, there is an eagle that flapping its wings and about to fly. This is Zeus' favorite animal and Zeus's faithful history.
In general, the Greeks called the gold coins the golden eagle, and in formal occasions, they called the Jin Zeus.
This involves a legend of the gods.
According to legend, the Greek gods set up three kinds of coins, but they argued endlessly about whom they used.
Later Athena said that gold coins are the most noble, so it should be engraved with the portrait of the king of the gods. This made Zeus very happy.
Then Athena said that silver coins were second only to gold coins, and no one except the god queen Hera could be second only to Zeus. Hera was also very happy.
Later, Athena asked, the nobles would never touch cheap copper coins. Copper coins were destined to circulate in the lower layers and mud, and even slaves could use them. Which master god would be touched by slaves?
The highest-ranking main gods gave up the fight, and their original goal was gold and silver coins. In the end, Athena's avatar appeared on the copper coins, and on the back was her beloved spiritual creature, the owl.
The goddess of wisdom did not lie, and the final result was just as she said, copper coins were circulated among the lower class people, and some great nobles even did not touch copper coins for their lives. However, this also made the name of Athena the most widely circulated among the lower class people.
Many people don't believe this legend.
A golden eagle coin is enough to buy a sheep, and fifty golden eagle coin can buy any house in the slums of Athens. Kelton bought this land and built a Dolphin River restaurant, but only 2,000 gold eagle coin was spent.
"I said that this food recipe will definitely be passed down through the ages and even make your name famous for generations." Su Ye looked at Kelton with a firm look.
Kelton stared at Su Ye's eyes and stared at him tightly.
The middle-aged foreman on the side had a slightly raised mouth and a very faint sarcastic look appeared on his face, but suddenly his face changed. He hurriedly approached Kelton and whispered to his ear: "Sir, is the reason why his parents sold old shops and did not hesitate to borrow money to exchange for larger shops because they mastered this food recipe?"
Kelton nodded slightly, he had long thought of this possibility.
Kelton asked: "What kind of food recipe is that?"
Su Ye said firmly: "My recipe can make one more dish on the dining tables all over Greece and even the world."
"Congratulations, you completed your dream of changing the world with magic in advance." Kelton's face was filled with enthusiasm.
The middle-aged foreman and the maid laughed softly.
Hack didn't laugh.
Su Ye didn't laugh either.
"I'll offer, you'll bargain." Su Ye looked up at the tall Kelton.
"Ten Golden Eagles." Kelton still smiled.
Su Ye was stunned for a moment, looked around with confused eyes, puzzled: "There is another miser Mr. Kelton in the workshop area? Did I come to the wrong place?"
The middle-aged foreman and maid frowned slightly.
Kelton looked at Su Ye without saying a word.
Su Ye looked upright and continued, "I came here not because I heard that Mr. Kelton, you are generous, you are rich, you are kind, or you are lying. But I heard that you are one of the wisest people in the workshop area and one of the longest-term people."
"I will try to get rid of 'one'." Kelton smiled confidently.
