Chapter 25 Capture Cangshan (Part 2)

The battle to attack Luzuo Town was first started by the 174th Brigade.

At 5:00 a.m. on April 8, the 174th Brigade launched an attack on the Japanese army in the town.

The combat styles of several commanders of the Independent 100 Brigade were different. Perhaps because of their personality, Chang Jing, who was an orthodox professional, fought in the battle as he was as stable as his usual behavior, which made people unable to find any fault.

Relying on its absolute advantage in military strength, the first wave of attacks, the 174th Brigade temporarily invested 1,700 people from four battalions. Chang Jing spread the troops of these four battalions and advanced in unison from two directions to the town center of Luzuo Town at the same time.

This kind of combat method of attacking the world from both sides is really nothing outstanding, but it only uses more to fight less to bully the weak. However, this conservative tactic, which is not gorgeous and has no highlights, is the most difficult to resist in reality.

There are only more than 500 Japanese troops in the town now, and there are still 500 combatants, which can withstand the full-strength attack of 3,000 horses of the temporary 174th Brigade.

In less than half an hour, two checkpoints set up by the Japanese army outside the town were taken down, and the Japanese army stationed there were basically wiped out.

Under Chang Jing's command, the 174th Brigade of the Temporary 174th Brigade was unreasonable and continued to advance step by step towards the only Japanese core position in the town of the Japanese army. Although the Japanese commander was determined to drive the 174th Brigade out of Zhuangzi, he had too few troops on hand and did not even dare to fight a tactical counterattack. Originally, the Japanese army in the town also expected that the Japanese squadron on the Tudi Mountain could help the main position at this critical moment. If he could not attack, he would support it with artillery fire.

But the Japanese strengthening squadron in Tudishan fought fiercely in the battle in the town, but they just didn't take action, just kept firing fire at the top of the mountain.

If it weren't for the Japanese flags hanging on Tudishan, the captain of the Japanese brigade would have doubted whether Tudishan had fallen into the hands of the Chinese army.

In fact, this cannot be blamed on the Japanese army in Tudishan. They are now unable to take care of themselves, and they have the extra energy to support the Japanese army in the town.

"Please tell Battalion Commander He of the Artillery Battalion that he doesn't have to care about ammunition and keep the intensity of the artillery bombing. The focus of the cannon shooting is to suppress the Japanese artillery fire. The mortars keep a close eye on the Japanese infantry. As long as they dare to show their heads, they will hit me hard!" Cheng Jiaji said to Ma Sanbao beside him.

The attack on Tudishan by the 200th Regiment was still going smoothly. Under the cover of powerful artillery fire, a reinforced battalion of the 200th Regiment started from half of the dirt slope and used rotational geotechnical excavation to press forward step by step towards the Japanese army guarding the Tudi Temple. In just one hour, the battalion's traffic trench was pushed forward by more than ten meters, which scared the Japanese invaders and kept firing artillery straight outward. The Chinese army's artillery fire counterattacked violently, forcing the Japanese to change their various artillery fires to a different place after a few shots. This greatly affected the hit rate of the Japanese artillery fire. Most Japanese artillery shells fired empty cannons.

Sometimes, Japanese artillery shells fell accurately into the Chinese army ranks that were being excavated, which caused a small piece of people to fall down in the Chinese army ranks. However, the geotechnical excavation did not stop because the Chinese soldiers behind would fill the position of their companions who had just fallen down as soon as possible. The latecomers continued to work silently until they were hit by a new rain of bullets and fell down.

Seeing this situation, the Japanese army in the Land Temple became anxious. After dawn, the Japanese army dispatched more than a hundred troops to rush towards the half of the slope under the cover of artillery fire in the temple, trying to catch up with this desperate Chinese army. As soon as the Japanese army attacked, they welcomed groups of mortar shells.

The dozen or so mortars from the Independent 100 Brigade have been waiting for a long time. As soon as the Japanese attackers left the temple, they welcomed groups of mortar shells. Not even half of the Japanese could escape back. As for the Chinese army working on the slopes, the Japanese were afraid that they didn't even see a few of these attacks.

The battle situation on the front slope of the Land Mountain slowly tilted towards the Chinese army bit by bit with time. This inclination is gentle but irreversible.

Land on the back slope.

The mission of the 199th Regiment this time is also very important. It is responsible for cutting off the Japanese army in both directions, and also cooperate with the attack of Qianpo with strong assists.

Yu Juncai still likes to use his brain when fighting. He picked out sixty or seventy agile veterans from the 199th Regiment, divided them into five people and equipped them with automatic firearms, and advanced one by one to the back of the Tudi Temple through the sheep-intestine path. After discovering it, the Japanese army also tried their best to shoot at the Chinese soldiers who were divided into groups, but they could not completely stop the veterans who fought old wars from advancing. From time to time, Chinese soldiers touched the walls of the Tudi Temple in groups of three or three.

Lurking there. Although these Chinese soldiers did not have the power to attack Tudi Temple, they were a big threat to the Japanese army in Tudi Temple. The Japanese army did not dare to attack (as soon as they left the temple gate, they would wait to be beaten by the superior firepower of the Chinese army!), and could only strengthen the defensive forces in the back hall of Tudi Temple. In this way, Yu Juncai easily achieved his phased combat goal, that is, on the one hand, disperse the Japanese army's forces and reduce the pressure of the 199th Regiment. On the other hand, nails were laid behind the Japanese army and wait for the opportunity to move.

At 7 o'clock in the morning, all preparations for the general attack on Tudishan Japanese stronghold were ready.

After paying the price of more than half of the casualties in two consecutive cases, the traffic trench on the front slope has been dug under the nose of the Japanese and is currently loading medicine. The 199th Regiment on the back hillside

Twenty or thirty veterans had already nailed to the wall of the Land Temple. Everything was done, so I waited for Cheng Jiaji to order a signal flare.

At 7:20, as three red signal flares soared into the air, first there was a loud noise on the front slope of Tudi Mountain. A large area of the wall of Tudi Temple suddenly collapsed, and bricks and stones flew everywhere. The dozens of kilograms of medicine buried beside the wall of Tudi Temple sounded. Then the 200th regiment had just changed into a full battalion, jumped out of the trench and rushed towards the Japanese position without turning back.

Almost at the same time, the 199th Regiment on the back slope also invested two entire companies of troops, and attacked the Tudi Temple with the assistance of the veterans who had long stood firm under the walls of the Tudi Temple.

The Japanese resisted fiercely. The company that was leading the 200th regiment rushed into the Land Temple in the rain of bullets and was immediately driven back by the Japanese with bayonets.

Fearing that the retreating troops blocked the way forward for the follow-up troops, Wen Songyuan was forced to command the follow-up troops to drive the remnants of the vanguard company into the Land Temple with bullets. Then two other companies of the 200th Regiment also rushed into the small temple. Although the number of Chinese troops in the temple was greater than that of the Japanese army, because the Japanese army had already built fortifications layer by layer in the temple, the 200th Regiment troops were always in the temple and the Japanese army were suppressing the Japanese.

Seeing this, Cheng Jiaji hurriedly asked his powerful guard company to assist the team, and ordered all artillery soldiers to transfer positions to the hillside.

No matter how tenacious the Japanese were, they had only one squadron. When the Chinese army in Xiaomiao had more than five companies and the Chinese army's artillery was transferred, the Japanese defense line finally collapsed. (You can't afford the close-up shooting of Sanqi Field Cannons, no matter what brick you made of a house, you often have the house and the people inside.)

The defeated Japanese army was unwilling to surrender, and the remaining dozens of Japanese soldiers launched suicide charges on the Chinese army under the leadership of a small team leader, all of which were killed by Ma Sanbao and his friends.

In general, the battle was still quite smooth. It took less than three hours to seize the strong Japanese stronghold of Tudishan in less than three hours.

Although the casualties seemed too great to Cheng Jiaji, the 200 people lost to the 199th Regiment at night, in order to seize this small hill with only 234 Japanese troops, the Independent 100 Brigade suffered a total of nearly 700 casualties. If the battalion commander of the artillery battalion had not been able to find a way to get two 37 war defense artillery up the mountain, the number of casualties would be much greater.

Next, there was nothing in Luzuo Town that could stop the progress of the Chinese army of the two brigades. When the Japanese army in the town saw that the land and mountains were lost, Luzuo Town had no danger to defend. Instead of fighting here, they would retreat to Cangshan before retreating to Cangshan to seize the city.

The 174th Brigade of the Temporary 1000 blocked the attack with all efforts, trying to keep all the Japanese in this brigade. The Japanese also fought desperately, and both sides fought fiercely. In the end, most of the Japanese army was eliminated by the 174th Brigade, and the remaining troops broke through five miles outside the town, collided with the cavalry battalion of the Independent 100 Brigade, and were wiped out by the cavalry battalion of the cavalry battalion with a sabre of the cavalry battalion.
