Chapter 1 Wandering(2/2)

"You are welcome."

"Excuse me."

It wasn't until he exited the entrance hall without forgetting to close the door that Kirino Akane truly breathed a sigh of relief.

Through the frosted glass, she saw the blurry figure outside fading away, and she made a decision.

"After you find the amulet, let's go to Uncle Daisuke's place and have a look."

My uncle's family immigrated abroad and left a lot of old clothes at home. He gave a few pieces to homeless people. He probably wouldn't know about it - and even if he knew, he probably wouldn't care.

"You sound young, why did you become a homeless person... Where is the nearest relief center?"

Thinking about the homeless man, Akane Kirino walked into the back room and began to look for her lost amulet.

There were many rooms on the upper and lower floors of the Kirino family's old house, and she didn't need to search through them one by one. The focus was on the Japanese-style room that had just been cleaned yesterday afternoon.

"It must be here..."

She opened the sliding door and prayed secretly in her heart, completely unaware that in the yard outside the house, the homeless man who had just left not long ago came back and was approaching quickly;

Scanning the floor under her feet, she regretted not wearing her glasses when she went out.

Fortunately, there weren't many things placed in this Japanese-style room, and it was clear what was on the floor. She soon saw the small wooden charm that fell at the junction of the edge and the Japanese-style room...

There is also the "thing" floating on the edge, only a few steps away from the amulet.

"That's...what?"

Moving her eyes upward, Akane Kirino opened her mouth slightly and stared blankly at the "smoke".

The general outline is close to a human shape, and a human face can be vaguely seen from the position of the head. The facial features are dark and scary, but it can be regarded as having a nose and eyes...

ghost?

Her worldview was shocked, and she froze on the spot, not knowing whether she should be surprised or scared first.

And the cloud of smoke suddenly started to sway again.

"..."

Is it looking over here?

It started to move.

It floated this way.

"Eh...wait..."

Akane Kirino suddenly felt something was wrong and wanted to run away, only to realize that her legs were completely out of control and she couldn't use any strength.

But at this time...

"—can you see it?"

She turned her head, and the owner of the young voice just now came to her side at some point, holding in his hand the long-handled transparent umbrella she placed in the entrance hall.

"..."

Frightened and confused, Kirino Akane forgot how she reacted, and he seemed to have said something;

When she came to her senses again, she already had the umbrella handle in her hand.

"Since you can see it, use this as a weapon."

"……arms?"

"Let's call it this. The specific details are up to your imagination. In short, use it just like you planned to use it against me."

The "smoke" was getting closer and closer, already drifting in front of her, and its appearance was much clearer and more terrifying. However, her attention was involuntarily focused on her right hand, which was holding the handle of the umbrella and was also wrapped by the other hand.

"It's almost done - the key is in the head."

The young wanderer whispered, and suddenly exerted force on her hand. She passively raised the umbrella in her hand and stabbed forward along with the force.

The plastic umbrella tip pierced one of the black holes in the head without any bias. The human-shaped smoke immediately stopped and dissipated in the blink of an eye.

Vaguely, she seemed to hear a faint sigh.

"This is just the lowest level wandering spirit."

The hand quickly let go, and then grabbed the umbrella in her hand, "Even if you let it go, it won't affect anything."

Doubts surged in her heart, and the mournful whine in her ears had not completely dissipated, but Akane Kirino asked a repeated question.

"Who are you?"

"As you can see..."

His voice was tired, and his answer was the same, "I'm just a wanderer."
