chapter.83 The Song of Farewell(1/2)

Too late.

When Klein and his party arrived, they knew it was already too late.

Outside the independent house belonging to Old Neil, people in police uniforms set up a long cordon on the street.

Several extremely busy trainee police officers were persuading nearby onlookers to leave. Another police sergeant led several subordinates across the main gate and stood in a garden planted with roses and golden mint, looking at each other with pale faces.

They were discussing something and pointing at the garden ground from time to time.

Klein lowered his silk top hat and followed the captain towards the entrance of the house.

When the trainee police officers saw this group of people heading straight towards the cordon, they immediately stepped forward to stop them, but stopped when they saw the leading man in a trench coat flashing the police station's senior inspector badge from his pocket.

"Please call the police sergeant over there and ask him to bring your colleagues over."

The gray-eyed inspector in civilian clothes spoke in a gentle tone and motioned to one of the trainee police officers.

It didn't take long for the police officers who had entered the garden to return to the cordon. A series of messy bloody footprints stretched from the front door of the house to the street.

Klein and Luo Yao silently looked at the captain's back, watching him take out his inspector's badge and ID issued by the police station, and then explained his identity to the police sergeants who came after receiving the alarm from nearby residents. The police officers explained their identities and the situation inside the house.

Leave it to your own team of professionals to handle the matter, and let them be responsible for isolating the scene and keeping irrelevant bystanders away from the house where the incident occurred.

Seeing that they no longer had to worry about how to deal with that weird house, several sergeants and police officers breathed a sigh of relief, and the expressions on their faces relaxed slightly and no longer looked so tense.

Immediately, the policemen wearing sergeant hats took the initiative to explain to the inspector with deep gray eyes the situation of the alarm they had received:

"This morning, nearby residents saw that a large amount of blood was flowing out from the crack in the door of this house, making a mess on the steps and garden. Just as some brave people wanted to get closer to see the situation, they suddenly heard another

There was a strange piano sound coming from the house... This frightened several neighbors who were passing by, so they discussed calling the police."

The sound of piano...

Klein closed his eyes wordlessly and recalled the past events about Old Neil that Captain Dunn mentioned in the carriage.

Old Neil never married. He only had a happy relationship when he was young, a happy love that was about to enter the marriage hall.

But unfortunately, an unexpected serious illness destroyed this ordinary happiness. Old Neil tried every means to save his lover's life, even at the expense of exposing the secrets of extraordinary people and using ritual magic, but he still failed to prevent the deterioration of the situation, and he parted ways with her from then on.

In Klein's impression, Old Neil said that he had a deceased wife who loved music during her lifetime, so he placed a piano in the living room...

According to Captain Dunn, there was no piano in Old Neil's home, at least until the beginning of this year.

So now, who is playing messy and crazy music in the house?

Everyone standing outside the main door of the house heard those manic notes, and turned their heads in unison, looking at the closed door with blood gurgling from the gaps, and their faces turned pale.

Dunn couldn't care less about being polite and took the lead to come to his senses and issue instructions to the police chief and police officers:

"You go and maintain order at the scene and don't let the crowd get within 20 meters of the house."

After saying that, he crossed the cordon that had been set up on the street and walked straight to the door of the house where the sound of the piano suddenly stopped.

Klein and Luo Yao didn't lag behind, and followed the captain into the garden that was almost soaked in blood. They stepped onto the slippery and sticky steps. Every step they took seemed to be stepping on some unpleasant

The surface of the blanket.

A group of three people stopped outside the door of the house.

"Remember what I told you on the road before." Dunn looked back at the two night watchers and took a deep breath, then stepped forward and pulled the rope connected to the doorbell.

Jingle bell, jingle bell——

As the bells collided and made a crisp sound, the piano sound in the room suddenly started to sound again after a short pause. It was like a manic patient slamming his fingers on the keys to vent his painful emotions on the verge of despair.

.

At this moment, both the experienced Dunn and the two not-so-experienced Nighthawks, their faces became extremely serious and pale, as if what they heard was not the sound of the piano, but the death knell ringing by the God of Death.

Dunn took a step forward, stopped trying to pull the bell, raised his hand and began to slam the door, but his voice was unhurried and shouted into the house:

"Old Neil, you are at home, right?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the piano noise without any musical rhythm stopped abruptly, and the deathly silence gradually spread, like the cold claws on the throats of the night watchers, forcing them into a desperate situation with no way out.

After waiting for a few more minutes, Dunn called out Old Neil's name again, speaking in a calm and caring tone:

"There was a case in the dock area the day before yesterday. A dangerous and evil extraordinary person entered Tingen. We are running out of manpower and need your ritual magic to assist... Do you remember the serial killer from sixteen years ago?

Is it a case? That extraordinary person is probably a dangerous person who took the same sequence of potions as the murderer. I don’t know when another tragedy will happen..."

"By the way, today is Wednesday. You should come to the company to work, but we haven't seen you in the company... We are teammates and companions. We are afraid that something will happen to you, and we are also very worried about your physical condition. You

If you hear it, just respond."

After a dozen seconds of silence that lasted as long as the turn of the century, a coughing sound that seemed to contain a few mouthfuls of thick phlegm came from the room. When the coughing stopped, Old Neil's old and hoarse voice finally responded.

"Dunn, who did you bring with you?... Oh, it's Luo Yao, and Klein, you guys..." As he spoke, Old Neil couldn't help but cough violently, and it took a long time to calm down.

A broken gasp was mixed in between the words, "Are you really here to visit me?"

Dunn maintained a steady tone and forced a smile:

"Of course, we have known each other for so many years. When have you ever seen me lie to you?"

"Yes, you didn't lie to me..." Old Neil's voice suddenly rose, and he roared hoarsely and hoarsely, "But I saw it, I saw it! You're lying, you're lying! There's something in your hand

What? What is that in your hand! You want to use the sealed artifact to deal with me, don’t you?”

Klein closed his eyes in pain, and no longer thought about why Old Neil could see the scene outside the room through the door, saw the black hair in the captain's hand, and did not want to lower his head to stare at the gurgling blood flowing from the door.

A strange scene leaking out of the seam.

Silently looking at Luo Yao and Klein beside him, Dunn smiled bitterly and threw the black hair in his hand into the flower garden. He spread out his empty palm and showed it to Old Neil in the room.

:

"Look, I have nothing with me except a stick. Now are you willing to believe it? We are really just here to visit you. Can you open the door and let us in?"

Old Neil seemed to hesitate for a while, and his tone became weak:

"I think there is nothing wrong with me, you should go back..."

It wasn't until Dunn repeatedly insisted that he wanted to see Old Neil's current state with his own eyes that Old Neil finally relented and expressed his concession:

"Okay then, you guys come in... No, you are not allowed to come in together, there is no need for so many people to visit... Yes, let Klein, let Klein in, and no one else is allowed to follow!"

For some reason, Klein didn't feel surprised at all when he heard this request.

He was about to raise his hand to wipe away the culprit of the blurred vision, but suddenly felt a trance. He saw the closed door in front of him turned into an empty darkness, a huge crimson moon hanging in the sky, and a man wearing a black trench coat.

Dunn was standing under the moon, looking at him with one hand in his pocket.

Klein suddenly realized that he was dreaming and was dragged into a dream by the captain's "Nightmare" ability.

Dunn nodded to him with a solemn expression:

"Remember what I told you on the carriage."

"Okay, Captain..." Klein responded slowly and stupidly, pretending to be dazed while dreaming.

Then the dream was shattered, the figures of Crimson Moon and Dunn Smith disappeared, but the door in front of him had quietly opened.

Klein looked inside the door, barely able to suppress the fear on his face.

Seeing that he had stopped moving forward, a head with an old face that could barely be seen clearly hung in the air in the living room. It opened and closed its mouth overflowing with blood-colored liquid and made a sound that is all too familiar to all night watchers.

"What's wrong, Klein, come in quickly. Come in, I'm going to show you a high-level ritual magic today, a ritual magic that can be used to refine life! This is a rare occult practice class, and the materials are all my own

You have to dig into your pocket and slowly accumulate it after so many years. You must take a good look at it..."

Klein lowered his head and walked to the door and stopped, his vision becoming blurry again.

He heard himself ask in a choked voice:

"Mr. Neil, do you still remember the content of the occult course you were supposed to teach me yesterday morning? I studied by myself at the company yesterday, but I still couldn't figure out a few questions. I would like you to explain them to me first..."

With only his head left, Old Neil almost blended in with the entire living room that had turned into a hell of flesh and blood, but he showed a twisted smile without suspecting him, and said as usual:

"What's the problem? Tell me."

Klein couldn't count the number of eyes on Old Neil's face. He only knew that there were one pair after another. The cold, empty eyes were staring at his every move. The original pair of dark red eyes that belonged to Old Neil were half

He opened his eyes half-closed, maintaining the little energy he had left.

He then asked a few basic questions, and after getting the answers, he and old Niela started chatting in a normal way, just like their usual arrangement after finishing the occult course, where they drank hand-grinded coffee and chatted about some topics.

I don’t know when, Old Neil’s voice gradually became lower, and those indifferent eyes without eyelashes also closed in pairs. Only the old hoarse voice was still narrating, still venting anger or anger to the empty target.

Sad mood.

"...If, if you could have appeared a few years earlier...more than ten years earlier, and told me the inspiration behind the motto of 'The Secret Peeper' earlier, I would...I would not have missed the opportunity, and I would not have let Sallysette

Leaving in such pain and helplessness..."

Klein knew that Luo Yao, who must have avoided Old Neil's attention, picked up the level 3 sealed object called "Quiet Hair" and threw it in from the window of the living room - that sealed object could directly

Creatures exposed to it become quiet and lose almost all desires until they die.

He also knew that the captain on the carriage had described the worst situation to them, and had also arranged and formulated an action plan for him and Luo Yao to execute as appropriate.

But when Klein mechanically followed the movements of his captain and teammates, he took out the revolver from the gun bag under his arm and aimed it at the terrifying and deformed head.

When he saw Old Neil trying his best to open his twinkling eyes, he was helpless, weak, and begging them for mercy, explaining his harmlessness, and even begging them to let him go for the sake of old friendship.
To be continued...
