Chapter 91 Hell Knight(2/3)

"I really hope that, Lord Riska, but I doubt this possibility, sorry." He bowed quickly and ran away hurriedly.

"You have adapted very well to the harsh travel life, Your Highness." Seeing the tavern owner leave, Brian took a sip of wine, with a hint of teasing in his words.

This chapter is not over, please click on the next page to continue reading! "Traveling is all hard."

Brenas was like an elegant gentleman who put down his wine glass and smiled softly, saying modestly: "Although this is not that easy, I will try to keep it civilized as much as possible."

"Brian, my friend, please allow me to call you that." He continued: "When it comes to 'civilization', I am curious how you, the lord of Mokou Town, think."

"civilization?"

Brian thought carefully for a moment and said to him, "Actually, I have never thought about civilization seriously. After your reminder, I suddenly thought of a sentence that is enough to make people think of it."

"Oh? What kind of sentence is it?" Brenas looked curiously at the lord of Mokou Town with a frown.

After all, in his impression, this was a lord who dared to abolish slavery and so interested in the spread of knowledge, which made him very interested in his answers.

"There is a proverb in my hometown: There are crusts on the road of life, blooming thousands of flowers and bearing a fruit." Brian came back from his meditation, "If someone can meet this grass, keep it blooming, wait for its flowers to fall, pick its fruit, and abandon it civilizedly, this is civilization."

"It sounds like a speech of nothingness." Brenas chuckled.

"In my impression, whether it is learning arcane, going out for adventures, or establishing one's life aspirations, the concept and value of civilization are so vague. I think it should be very broad, so that every kingdom and everyone will have their own perspective on civilization. Especially the kind of kingdom with a long history."

"In my opinion, civilization is the truth of the arcane." The ghost prince drank the wine, raised his tone a little, and said to Brian:

"Architecture is the power to explore the essence of things. The clearer the world understands the essence of things, the higher their level of civilization. The church of the gods was once a product of the development of civilization and was used as an excuse for war. The so-called doctrines and conflicts of civilizations are just ugly disputes of interests between the gods. Civilization can make us wise, just as arcane allows us to see the mystery of the multiverse, as long as we want to do things, we can do it."

After listening to Brenas's remarks, Brian did not refute him.

He thought for a moment and looked at the ghost prince, "If I stand on your side, I can understand your opinion, but I also have my own different opinions."

"Maybe you are talking about civilization is the arcane truth, but I think civilization is also an act." He said slowly:

"Because when advanced culture and ideas are widely spread and recognized, civilization will be reflected in actions, such as when meeting on the road, an inadvertent smile, selfless help when passers-by are in trouble, and a conscious act of obeying the law."

He took a sip of the wine in his glass and continued:

"In this way, one's civilization will spread and influence another. It will blow through the willows like the spring breeze, leaving a piece of green and shade. When civilized behavior becomes a habit and morality and cultivation reach a peak, our spirit will be more fulfilled."

Brian glanced at the tranquil psychic sage beside him, "The civilization marked by the city from ancient times, such as the 'Treasure of the North' Silver Moon City, is formed by the behavior of everyone, starting from everyone's side and moving towards the world step by step."

When Brian finished speaking, the door of the tavern was knocked open with a 'bang', and the drinkers looked in the sound.

As the sand and dust spread out from the strong wind, a paladin with a vicissitudes appeared in everyone's sight and became the focus of the entire tavern.

Judging from his face, he looked very young, but unfortunately the wind and frost on his body were too heavy, as if he was blown by the strong wind for countless centuries, making him look ten years older at least.

The paladin was dressed in worn black armor and held a giant sword with a dark red light.

When Brian noticed the runes engraved on the hilt of his sword, vaguely emitting the breath of Batto's hell, he seemed to have thought about something, and his expression changed slightly.

——"Supernatural Ability: Detecting Evil!"

The paladin waved his hand, and a milky white sacred light appeared in the palm of his hand wearing a steel guard, which suddenly spread to the entire tavern.

The moment he put down his arm, different camps of inspiration burst out from everyone in the tavern.

The dazzling blood-red light made the bright torches and candles in the tavern fade.

Brian saw the red light representing the evil camp, filling almost every corner of the room. The blue light that truly represents kindness was only Herist beside him.

Even the camp inspiration he emits himself kept jumping back and forth between the blue and white lights representing kindness and neutrality.

The ghost prince Brenas, who was sitting opposite him, kept the neutral white light.

"Violence!"

"If it's not for justice, it's meaningless!"

The paladin held the giant sword in his hands, and his majestic eyes swept coldly over each enemy emitting a blood-red light.

"We have many people, don't be afraid. Kill this nosy paladin." A strong man with an exaggerated beard stood up.

The black beard was twisted by a challenging sneer as he looked at the paladin.

"You are going to use your sword to defend justice, right!" He looked at the paladin viciously and pulled out a scimitar. On the inside of the wide and curved blade was a row of serrated teeth.

Immediately afterwards, more than a dozen people quietly took out weapons from the oiled buckles, the lining of the boots, the edges of their wrists, the back of their necks, and even the crotch of their pants, staring at the paladin in front of the door.

"Any evil force must pay the price!"

The paladin was unmoved and allowed the group to move closer to him, saying in a low and hoarse voice, "However, the order here seems to cover you, so I can only rely on force to conquer here."

This chapter is not over, please click on the next page to continue reading! As soon as he finished speaking, a faint sacred aura appeared on the giant sword of his tight hands, and his tall figure turned into a whirlwind of steel and rushed into the crowd of besieged.

In an instant, the charge that stomped on the ground roared, the crackling sound of tables and chairs breaking, the collision of swords and the screams of sharp blades entering the flesh echoed in the tavern one after another.

Blood, corpses, broken limbs and broken arms.

At this moment, the violence displayed by this young paladin with a vicissitudes of face seemed to have a tyrannical aura.

It was indeed the paladin who made the oath of conquest. Seeing the paladin jumping into the crowd, Brian couldn't help but secretly surprised himself.

Every paladin will make a sacred oath and be with his identity forever. The most common oaths are oaths of dedication, oaths of glory, oaths of redemption, oaths of ancient sages and other various oaths to uphold justice.

But there are also very extreme oaths, that is, the oath of revenge, a kind of paladin called the "Holy Avengers". Their camps are mainly orderly neutral.

However, there is a more extreme oath than the oath of revenge: the oath of conquest.

The oath of conquest attracts paladins who seek glory and conquest in battle.

For them, simply establishing order is not enough, and the chaotic forces must be crushed and eradicated.

Some conquering paladins would be called tyrant knights or war dealers, who gathered into harsh armies or organizations to serve the gods or philosophy of order and war.

Some such paladins go too far and even join the devils of Batto Hell.

In their eyes, the rule of law overrides mercy.

The last devil duke of Aphronas, the former chief commander of the bloody battle of the Abyss, was Bryan's escaped demon beloved Baier.

This Devil Lord commanded many such paladins. They are called the Hell Knights, regarded as the most enthusiastic followers, and the sharpest sword for the Devil Lord to massacre the demons in the abyss.

The Hell Knights decorate their armor with the spoils of fallen enemies, warning anyone who dares to resist them, or even their lord's decree.

These knights are often resisted by other conquering paladins, who believe that these orderly evil paladins, the Hell Knights, have gone too far in the dark to be remedied.

However, in fact, their profession is still a paladin, with the same profession characteristics as other paladins and the most effective supernatural ability to kill evil: Evil Breaking Slash.

Because the creed of conquering the oath is the most terrifying thing for evil forces. They believe in the supreme power, exterminate hope and kill all the people, and then rule with iron fist.

The paladin in the melee slashed out with heavy giant sword in his hands, and the two tall and strong men waved their swords in horror.

Accompanied by the harsh collisions, their bodies flew backwards, hitting the wall behind them, and spewing out a trace of blood, leaving no resurrection.

——"Supernatural Ability: Conquer the Pressure!"

Pure sacred energy suddenly burst out from the body of the paladin, emitting terrible pressure, and all enemies shrouded in the pressured light all showed a look of fear.

The weaker will even throw away his weapons, either kneeling or lying on the ground and trembling.

"It is far from enough to defeat you in battle. My victory must be significant enough to completely shatter your fighting will. Swords can only end life, but fear can end the kingdom."

A stream of blood splattered, and the paladin's sword reaped the enemy's life without mercy.

——"Supernatural Ability: Conquer the Light of Inspiration!"

Another pure sacred light spread out from the body of the paladin. The legs of the escaped enemy seemed to be growing on the ground, suppressed by the light of inspiration and could not move at all.

"Once conquest is completed, no objection is tolerated, what I say is the law. Those who follow it will be favored, and those who disobey will be punished to serve as a warning!"

The paladin angrily rebuked, and fought wildly at the enemy who was desperate for his escaping.

"I will continue to rule until stronger evil forces arise, and by then I will become stronger and face challenges without fear."

——"Supernatural Ability: Evil-Breaking Slash!"

"Click!"

A crisp breaking sound sounded, and the last enemy of the paladin was cut off from the scimitar, his burly body knelt on the ground, and instantly died under the sword.

The battle ended, the paladin glanced at Brian and the other two, and stayed for a moment as they passed by Brian, turning around and leaving.

The entire tavern fell into a dead silence, because except for the three of them, none of them survived, and the strong smell of blood filled the air, which was disgusting.

Brian glanced out of the corner of his eyes and found that there was more than this paladin in the entire oasis camp, but more than a dozen paladins were playing the role just now, slaughtering the evil forces here.

Obviously, as the Paladin said, they were planning to completely occupy this desert oasis.

"It is not suitable to stay here for a long time, so let's go first." Brian glanced at the spiritual warlock beside him and said to the ghost prince Brenas.

His conversation with the ghost prince is not over yet. He must use today's time to explain some things clearly and reach an agreement.

Only in this way can he return to Mokou Town with peace of mind.

"I think so too." Brenas looked at the busy figures of a group of paladins outside the door. He nodded thoughtfully and said with a smile.

…………

The next morning, Brian stood on the sand dune, watching the ghost prince leave, showed a smile, and then turned around and walked down.

"What did you discuss with the people of the Ghost City? They had been talking all night." Herist walked to Bryan and asked curiously.

"Actually, there was no important thing to talk about." Brian and Herist said while walking, "It was nothing more than thinking about some trivial matters."
