For those Zhulin wise men who resisted to the end, "they eliminated more than 460 people who violated the ban, and all of them were trapped in Xianyang, so that the world could know them and punish the descendants."

This is the famous "burning books and burying scholars" in Chinese history.

Some Chinese sorcerers who were unwilling to succumb to the tyranny of the emperor had to flee. One of these people went west and then west, and finally arrived at the ruling area of ​​the ancient Roman Empire along the ancient Silk Road.

The descendants of these alchemists naturally merged with their peers along the Mediterranean coast, and the Gnostic sects emerged around the BC.

"Gnosticism" (Gnosticism) comes from the Greek word gnostikos, that is, know, refers to a person who possesses North or "secret knowledge", also known as "spiritual school" and "divine school".

This is the general name of many mystical sects that were popular all over the eastern Mediterranean during the Roman Empire.

As the name suggests, this sect believes that matter and body are sinful, and only by understanding the mysterious "Nos" can the soul be saved. Those who master this true knowledge are called "Nostikoi" (Gnostikoi, meaning the true knowledge.)

From this perspective, the mysticism proposed by Gnosticism is very similar to Taoist claims.

This mysticism advocates extermination of human consciousness and pursuit of knowledge granted to humanity by heaven or nature. It also claims that only those who possess mysterious truths can truly be saved.

If the Greek "knowledge" is translated into Chinese "Tao" and the "true knowledge" is translated into "real person", then you will find that the Gnostics and Taoism are exactly the same.

The gods believed in by Gnostic are also very strange. They are different from the "recent gods" of ancient Greece and Rome, and from the Jewish Jewish who loves to lose their temper. The Gnostic God is an other who is completely uninvolved in the world and unknown.

This hidden God is a nihilistic concept: from him there is no overflowing norm, nor the law of nature and the conduct of man as part of the natural order.

The saying "Heaven and Earth are unkind and regard all things as straw dogs" is the best footnote of the gods of the Gnostic sect.

In addition, some sects of Gnostic believe that the body is evil and the spirit is good, and then advocate indulging in physical sexual intercourse, allowing the people to have yin chaos with the priestess in temples.

This is similar to the yellow and red technique of Chinese amulets.

The above contents can show that the two are so similar, and it is difficult to explain them simply by coincidence.

The earliest core sects of Gnosticism were formed a little earlier than Christianity and were prevalent in the 2nd to 3rd centuries.

During its prevalence, some Christians were influenced by Gnostic sects, but their doctrine of "pursuing truth" was incompatible with the Christian orthodox "justified by faith", so they were denied "heretic".

This group of "Christians" created the famous Gospel of Judah. ​​The Gospel of Judah subverted the New Testament, claiming that Judah was actually Jesus' closest friend and loyal disciple. The reason why he betrayed Jesus was entirely because of Jesus' instruction that he handed Jesus over to those in power to deal with it in order to complete God's redemption plan.

The Gospel of Judah impacted the perspective and morality of traditional Christians, and was the "devil's defense book" in the eyes of the orthodox sect.
