Chapter 2 Mother's Death
After Yin Qi and Ali walked out of the small garden, both breathed a sigh of relief. They were very worried that Yang Cheng would change his mind and chase him from behind. Fortunately, the two of them did not see him again.
Yin Qi helped Ali, who was still in shock, tidy up his makeup and instructed: "Don't tell others about this except Aunt Feng." Ali was a little surprised, "Don't report to his wife? You should punish that person!"
Punishment?! Yin Qi smiled bitterly in her heart and said to herself: "Silly Sister, you haven't seen that our mother and daughter are still living such a difficult life as half of the master. Can they punish the most powerful martial artist in Shenhu Hall for you, a slave?" Although the reason is simple, but it involves the difference in identity, Yin Qi is unwilling to say it clearly. She is afraid that she and Ali will no longer be friends.
Yin Qi had no choice but to persuade: "Even if the wife is willing to make decisions for you, it has not become a fact this time, and my father will at most scold him. But once this incident spreads, even if nothing happens, it will be very unfavorable to you."
Seeing that Ali was a little unwilling, Yin Qi said again: "We will never come here again. I will find another way to find my mother's medicine."
When Ali heard this, he stopped talking, and the two walked back silently."
When she was about to arrive at the small courtyard where Yin Qi lived, Ali handed Yin Qi only a few bouquets of flowers left in the basket, "Put them all in your room, your mother will be happy to see it." She has always been happy, and her mood has improved a lot now, "Don't come here in the next few days. When grandma's anger fades, I'll come to find you."
Yin Qi felt guilty and hurriedly said, "I'll take care of my mother first, and then I'll go over to apologize to Aunt Feng. After all, I'm the one who suggested..." Before Yin Qi finished speaking, Ali smiled and said, "How could you be angry with you? In the final analysis, you saved me." She waved her hand at Yin Qi and turned around and left.
After Ali left, Yin Qi returned to her yard in a heavy mood. In the yard, she was sitting under the eaves, staring at the flowers and plants in a daze. When the man saw her coming in, he showed a warm smile on his face, "You are back, Qi'er." The gentle voice and sweet smile made Yin Qi feel like he was in a dream. "Mother," she shouted happily and ran over quickly.
"Girl, you're back!" Yunxiang walked out of the room and covered Gu Jingyi with a cloak. "Madam is much better today, and she's been waiting for you to come back here!"
Yin Qi was even happier when she heard this. She looked at her mother carefully and saw that her mother's eyes were clear and her face was normal. She thought she was sober now.
It is rare that her mother is in good spirits. Yin Qi and Yunxiang quickly serve her to take medicine, eat, and then get together to talk. However, she has limited energy, and mostly listens to the two of them talking about recent trivial matters.
After chatting for a while, Mrs. Gu was a little tired and wanted to take a nap. Yin Qi wanted to stop her. She was afraid that her mother would wake up again after she fell asleep, so she returned to her dazed look. But when she saw the obvious tired face on her mother's face, she knew that this was impossible. Yin Qi had to serve her mother and lay down. Just as she was about to leave, she heard her say softly: "Lying with me for a while!" Yin Qi felt warm in her heart. She carefully climbed onto the bed and snuggled gently into her mother's arms.
"Qi'er, do you know where my mother's home is?" Mrs. Gu said softly.
"In Yan Country?"
"That's right. My hometown is Boling. In the north of Yan Kingdom, it is the fief of the famous Xiao family. There are not so many mountains there, and it looks like plains. It's very cold in winter, and it will snow heavily, and sometimes it can cover your knees."
Yan Kingdom is located east of Zhaohua City, separated by Le Mountains south. Yin Qi didn't know what her mother said about these things. She was obviously afraid of others asking about her mother's home.
"Our Gu family is a prominent local family. Your grandfather has been a county magistrate for nearly ten years. When I was sixteen years old, the little marquis of the Xiao family won a battle and exempted the county from taxes for one year. The people were happier than the New Year and came out to celebrate. Our sisters also went out to watch the fun, and then they met your father."
Mrs. Gu seemed a little tired. Although she was still talking, she had closed her eyes.
"I made a marriage contract at the age of fourteen and will be married in a few months. But I don't know what kind of devil I was possessed. Even though I knew that your father was from Yizhou and had married, I still secretly interacted with him. Half a month later, I told your grandfather about this. He was furious and his sword was put on my neck. Thanks to my mother's desperate efforts to stop him. After three days of struggle, seeing that I had made up my mind, your grandfather summoned his clan members, worshiped the ancestral hall, and no longer recognized me as his daughter."
It is not a secret that the relationship between my mother and her father is in Yin's mansion. Yin Qi has heard people talk about it several times, but it is not as detailed as her mother said it.
"Sometimes I often think, how good would it be if your grandfather's sword was faster back then. Even though a person dies, he can still bury his hometown and don't have to wander outside."
"Mother, stop talking, go to bed!" Yin Qi suddenly felt a little scared.
Fortunately, Mrs. Gu stopped talking. Her eyes were closed and her breath gradually became heavy. It seemed that she was really asleep.
Yin Qi was also a little tired, and she fell asleep quickly. When she opened her eyes again, the sun was dim, and it was already Shen Shi. Yin Qi looked up and found that her mother had woken up and was looking down at her. Seeing that her mother had shortness of breath, she showed unusual flush on her face, and she suddenly felt an ominous premonition in her heart.
"Mom can't hold on," Mrs. Gu said slowly, her expression still soft, as if she was stating the most ordinary fact. Yin Qi was confused. She subconsciously touched her mother's pulse, but Mrs. Gu reached out to bring her into her arms. "My good child, it's really hard for you to meet a selfish mother like me." She gently stroked her daughter's head and whispered: "You are a smart child, you must live as much as possible! But you must make yourself happy, it's more important than anything else."
Yin Qi hugged her mother, tears kept falling, and she felt like she was having a dream.
"Qi'er, my good boy..."
Mrs. Gu's voice became weaker, and her arms holding Yin Qi suddenly slid down. Yin Qi knew very well that her mother was dead. Her body would quickly become cold and stiff, but she didn't want to move at all.
"Stay for a while," Yin Qi hugged her mother's body in her heart, hoping that Yunxiang would not come in for the time being, "It will be fine in a while."
"How is Mrs. Gu?" Two days later, Tao Ying asked in the main hall of Jinhua Hall in the inner courtyard of Yin Mansion.
"All arrangements have been made as you told me, and now Aunt Li is watching." The maid replied respectfully.
"What do we say about the hall master?" Tao Ying shook the tea bowl in her hand, and her white and slender fingers tapped the edge of the cup. It seemed careless, but it made people feel fear for no reason.
“He said it’s up to you to decide.”
"Hmph! He shook it cleanly." Tao Ying sneered. Her husband has always been romantic, and the concubines around him are the most common in the mansion. When it comes to them, Tao Ying has never suppressed or made friends with her. She lets them compete for favor by themselves, as long as they don't cause any major trouble. But for Gu Jingyi, Tao Ying has always admired her infatuation and determination. Now that Tao Ying has passed away, she sees her husband's reaction so coldly, she can't help but feel resentment for the woman.
"Get some incense and candles, I'm going to the east." After hearing the instructions, the maids hurriedly went to prepare.
Tao Ying led a group of maids and headed eastward, attracting the attention of many people. When she arrived at Yin Qi's residence, Aunt Li had already heard the movement and came out to greet him. When she saw Tao Ying, she said in surprise, "Madam, why are you here?"
Tao Ying said as she walked: "I'll see Mrs. Gu."
Aunt Li followed Tao Ying, thinking in her heart. She was an old man in the inner courtyard. She had been in the Yin Mansion for many years and knew the consequences of her disliked concubine. Although Mrs. Gu had a daughter, it was already a perfect end to send her to handle the funeral. Unexpectedly, she came here in person.
Aunt Li walked Tao Ying into the mourning hall set up in the main house. Two people were kneeling on the side of the spirit bed, Yin Qi and Yunxiang. Yunxiang cried miserably, and her voice was already a little hoarse. Yin Qi next to her was a little quiet. Although tears were falling on her face, she did not hear the crying sound, but her eyes were hollow and scary.
When the two of them were stunned when they saw Tao Ying coming in, they looked like they didn't expect you to come. They came to their senses when Yin Qi bowed to Tao Ying. She also quickly bowed her head with her girl, but she was a little helpless, which immediately attracted Aunt Li's dissatisfied gaze.
Yin Qi did not expect Tao Ying to come. She looked up at Tao Ying. The beautiful woman was bowing to the spirit bed with a solemn face, completely looking mourning.
Afterwards, Tao Ying called Yin Qi to the inner room. The inner room was Gu Jingyi's bedroom. After Tao Ying came in, she sat casually on the couch in front of the window, not anything was taboo.
Yin Qi knew that Tao Ying's appearance here was definitely not just a mourning. She must have had some plans, and it was probably related to her.
Tao Ying waved and let Yin Qi sit opposite him: the thirteen-year-old girl's eyebrows and eyes gradually grew and her body grew, which was very different from Tao Ying's impression.
