Chapter 118 Guangzhen speaks Zen language

"Master." One of the fat monks suddenly raised their heads and called out.

The simple-dressed old monk responded while untiing the gourd from his waist, "What's wrong with it?"

"Hmm..." Chang Jue hesitated for a while before saying, "Master, don't you often say 'Mencius doesn't lie'? But why did you lie just now?"

"Hahaha..." The old monk smiled and opened the gourd and handed it to him, and then said kindly, "Master lied to them to spread Buddhism and save sentient beings, with good thoughts and good consequences. Then this cheating... is no longer a cheat, but a true heart."

Chang Jue nodded in ignorance, while the other monk who looked thinner but also a little older first took the gourd from Chang Jue, drank a sip of water, paused for a moment, then sighed helplessly as if he was a little adult: "Oh..."

"Haha." The old monk smiled again. It seemed that he had become accustomed to the little monk's appearance, and he was no longer surprised. "What's wrong with Chang Zhi? What do you think is the master's fault?"

"..." Chang Zhi thought for a moment, and then said seriously, "Master, it's not that my disciple said to you. You have clearly broken the precept of not saying lies, how can you still say that you are just sincere?" His tone revealed disappointment.

The old monk probably had expected that he would say this, so he was not surprised. He just smiled and continued, "Then the 'Five Precepts and Ten Virtues' are all for those who have no wisdom. I am extremely smart as a teacher, so naturally I will not be bound by those who have those."

"Oh." Chang Zhi sighed again and shook his head speechlessly, "If my master's wife is still there, she will definitely scold you."

The old monk raised his mouth slightly, looked at the blue sky shattered in the west through the gaps between the branches and leaves with longing: "Teach it, let's teach it. I want her to teach it."

"Oh." Chang Zhi had no choice but to sigh again and said weakly, "You always can't do this. We are pointing at you and setting an example."

"What's wrong with me?" said the old monk disapprovingly, "Yes, the scriptures and classics I have read for more than 60 years are not as much as you have read in recent days. However, this Buddhism cannot be memorized by rote. You have to jump out of the outside world, find the root of it, and find out why it is done, so that you can gain true wisdom."

"Oh..." The little fat man Chang Jue nodded as if he had some understanding, but Chang Zhi glanced at Chang Jue and didn't say anything else.

The old monk looked at the two of them, and then smiled and said, "Haha, since you are still confused about the lies, then I will give you a question and take the test for you two." As he said this, he opened his left hand and a beautiful woman in white appeared next to a poplar tree ten meters away. She ran over with panic and panting, and then hurriedly hid on the branches, which disappeared in a blink of an eye.

Yang Yuhan was watching the eyes secretly, but before he could think carefully, a strong man holding a big sword appeared at the bottom of the tree, rushed to the front of the three of them angrily and asked anxiously: "Master, where did the witch woman go just now?" After that, he turned into a fog.

The old monk asked: "If you two encounter this situation, how would you answer?"

Chang Jue then said without hesitation: "Of course he was showing him the wrong way."

"Oh?" the old monk looked at him and said, "Why?"

Chang Jue replied: "The man must have come to chase and kill this beautiful sister. We Buddhist disciples should be compassionate and not kill as the five precepts. We cannot stand by and watch, so our disciples are willing to follow the master and break the precept of not lying for good thoughts."

"Well..." The old monk nodded, but did not comment, and then asked Chang Zhi, "What about you?"

Chang Zhi replied: "Tell me frankly."

The old monk asked, "Why?"

"Because the disciple cannot tell which is good and which is evil from it." Chang Zhi said in a mature manner, "This matter is indeed as my junior brother said, but it is also possible that the woman did a bad thing first, or even killed others' lives, and then caused the man to chase him. Since the right and wrong are unclear, the disciple cannot break the precepts and break the Buddhist rules because of this."

"Well... it's all right." The old monk nodded again, then changed his mind, "Are you two still tired? Let's go?" As he said that, he wanted to stand up.

Chang Jue was stunned for a moment, but at the same time he also instinctively grabbed him: "Uh, no, no, no, Master."

Chang Zhi saw this, but he was still calm: "It's okay, you don't know about Master's temper, he won't just leave like that."

When the old monk heard this, he couldn't help but smiled a little embarrassedly, and sat down again: "Hehehe...well, since you both want to know, let me tell you."

He paused and said, "I actually want to tell you two that the cycle of cause and effect cannot be controlled by external forces.

Since we cannot do as powerful and boundless as the Buddha, we will inevitably be limited by our own pattern. No matter whether we are inside or outside, we cannot understand the truth of this world. Therefore, the only thing we can do is to act with our hearts and no longer be entangled.

Take the woman just now as an example. No matter which of you she meets, it is all due to good and evil. As long as you can uphold good thoughts and sow good causes for yourself, you don’t need to explore the results.”

"The consequences of good and evil are as you wish, either right or wrong, both right and wrong..." Chang Zhi murmured, and then respectfully clasped his hands to the old monk, "Master, my disciple has realized it."

"Amitabha, how good it is." The old monk also put his arms around, nodded with satisfaction, looked at Chang Jue, who was thinking hard on the left, and then suddenly looked towards Yu Han. After a moment, he didn't say anything.

Seeing that he had already appeared, Yu Han had no intention of hiding, and generously jumped down the branches and came to the three of them: "Yang Yu Han, I have seen the master."

The old monk then stood up and bowed and said, "I am a monk named Guangzhen, I have met the young master."

Yang Yuhan smiled and said, "I didn't mean to eavesdrop on the spot just now. I hope the master will not blame him."

The old monk hurriedly said, "Young Master, don't care. The world is vast and all things have spirits. They have never been to us. Therefore, it is fate that the young master and the three masters and disciples meet here. There is no question of eavesdropping or not."

Yang Yuhan said solemnly: "I have deeply felt the teachings of the Master. I can't help but remember a story I heard before, so I also wanted to reveal it. Please ask the Master to use wisdom and wisdom."

The old monk smiled and replied, "Well, please speak for yourself, young master."

Yang Yuhan nodded and said, "One person went up the mountain to pray for Buddha, but when he was kneeling down to worship Buddha, he saw a scattered Buddhist bead in front of the niche. This person hesitated for a while, and didn't know whether to take it or not. Master...what should he choose?"

The old monk replied: "It is true that he takes it or not. He just shouldn't have troubles and arguing about the empty appearance."

Yang Yuhan smiled slightly: "But... I think it's okay if he takes it or not, or if he has a controversy because of external factors."

Hearing this, the old monk was stunned and then hurriedly put on his hands and said, "Amitabha, what the donor said is the most, I am obsessed with the appearance."
