Chapter 835 Yang Shu
Su You brought a generous gift to Jiaozhi scholars, which was a plaster cast and a replica cast in cement - a replica of the stone tablet of the Thirteen Classics in the Stone Chamber of Chengdu Academy of Later Shu!
Among them, "Mencius" was supplemented by Su You, carefully annotated by Wang Anshi, and transcribed by Su Shi.
If they could get these two people to cooperate, even Zhao Xu would probably be embarrassed to do so. Su You was probably the only one in the Song Dynasty who could do it.
Dasu's song "Shui Tiao Ge Tou" for the Mid-Autumn Festival last year completely condensed his divine personality. Now he is a well-deserved literary giant of the Song Dynasty. As for how high he can fly, only Yun knows.
The inscriptions on all sutra stele are nearly 200,000 words, each sentence has standard annotation, the calligraphy is beautiful, and it can be called a masterpiece of stone carving.
When Su You personally pushed open the door of the sutra room and let all Jiaozhi students and scholars see more than 190 neat stone tablets standing solemnly inside, Li Daocheng couldn't help but burst into tears, and Li Wensheng was so excited that his lips trembled.
Although it is a replica, it is enough to make Jiaozhi Confucian scholars wild with surprise.
There were only three such inscriptions in the Song Dynasty, in Chengdu, Luoyang and Bianjing.
Li Daocheng and the Jiaozhi scholars knelt down and kowtowed respectfully: "Jiaozhi Demuwang has become a king, and he knows etiquette and ethics. From today on, all the people of the South China Sea, kowtow to thank the Emperor Song for his holy grace!"
Su You helped him up: "Mr. Li, you are the forerunner in opening up the people's wisdom. Korean Confucianism started from Cui Chong, who was known as the 'Haedong Confucius'. Up to now, the country has been prosperous and stable, and the people are refined and righteous. It is known as Little China.
.”
"Sir, you are a Nanhai Confucian. Before, you were restrained by evil and could not realize your ambitions. Now, it is the right time."
Li Daocheng's white beard trembled: "The reputation of Taoism has been tarnished. How dare you compare with the sages of the past? I can only do my best to seek blessings for the people."
Su You smiled and said: "If you are determined like this, Qingshi will give you a fair evaluation."
After the sacrifice, the students moved to Minglun Hall, and Li Daocheng asked Su You to give the first lecture.
In view of the special situation of Jiaozhi, Su You chose "Liyun Datong Chapter".
"Liyun Datong Chapter" is a monograph that discusses the origin, reality, and changes of etiquette.
The title "Liyun" shows that its central content is to record the evolution of rituals and music in the era.
However, what makes "Liyun Chapter" so popular is not its theme and main content, but the idea of "Datong Xiaokang" at the beginning of the chapter.
It depicts a blueprint for the ideal world of the Chinese nation for the world, so later generations have the saying of "the great unity of etiquette and luck".
The journey of the great road means that the world is for the common good.
Select the talented and promote them, be trustworthy and cultivate harmony, so that the old friends will not only kiss their relatives, nor will they only give birth to their children, so that the old will have their end, the strong will be useful, the young will have their own growth, the lonely, the weak and the sick will all be supported, and the men will have their share.
, women return home.
If the goods are disgusted and thrown on the ground, there is no need to hide them in oneself; if the power is disgusted and they do not come from the body, there is no need to hide them for oneself.
This is why people seek to be closed but not prosper, to steal and cause chaos but not to commit crimes, and why the outside world is not closed. This is called Great Harmony.
Now that the great road is hidden, the world is home. Everyone loves his relatives, every son is his son, and the goods and resources are his own.
When the adults are born, they regard propriety as a rule, cities, ditches and ponds as solid, etiquette and righteousness as discipline.
To upright the ruler and his ministers, to respect father and son, to be harmonious to brothers, and to be harmonious to husband and wife.
To set up the system, to establish the fields, to use the wise and courageous to know, to use merit as one's own.
Therefore, the plan is made, and the army starts from this. Yu, Tang, Wen, Wu, Cheng Wang, and Zhou Gong are all chosen from this.
None of these six gentlemen is disrespectful of etiquette.
With its righteousness, to test its trustworthiness, to show its faults, to punish people with benevolence and to give way, to show the people that they are normal.
If there are those who do not follow this, those who live in Shao will be in trouble, and everyone will think it is a disaster. This is called a well-off society.
The article actually puts Datong above well-off society, which seems to make sense on the surface.
However, the Neo-Confucian trend of thought raised a question for the first time: Can Datong really be reappeared in this world?
Su You can now be regarded as a thinker. Under his inspiration and leadership, today's Neo-Confucianism believes that "Great Harmony" is an "absolute" concept in mathematics, which can be approached infinitely, but can never be reached.
What makes society infinitely closer to "Great Harmony" are the systems and methods discussed in "Xiaokang".
It is based on the concept of "Great Harmony" and formulates etiquette and regulations that human beings should abide by together;
It is a set of ethical education process from enlightenment to adulthood based on the concept of "Great Harmony";
It is a set of social structure model built from the countryside to the court based on the concept of "Great Harmony".
"Datong" actually means "inner sage", which is the purpose, the pursuit, the highest standard for a person's self-cultivation, and the highest ambition of an inheritor of Confucianism.
"Xiaokang" is actually the "King of Foreigners". It is the way and method that a person should follow when dealing with others and how he behaves and does things. It is the embodiment of a successor of Confucianism who implements the concept of great harmony in practice.
The two are an internal contradiction and unity, which explains why the inner sage can also use military force, legislation, and the outer king as a means to implement the political system.
The reason is that "the great road is hidden" and the conditions for the emergence of great harmony no longer exist.
A person who arms himself with Confucianism should have a "heart of great harmony" in his heart, and his behavior should be reflected in "the journey of well-off society".
Or to put it conversely, those who do not take the blood race as the standard and can practice this are the true Confucians.
This theoretically explains the difference between Li Changjie and Su You, and also explains the justice and injustice of the two in the war. It solves the ideological contradictions and depression of Jiaozhi students and gives them ideological weapons to arm their minds.
.
This was a small test of the mature ideological system of Neo-Confucianism in Jiaozhi. Su You cited classics and references, and his words and emotions made the students fascinated.
Su You did not describe Confucianism as lofty and lofty, but pointed out a path and a set of methodology to the students, and it was a practical methodology that could be achieved step by step.
The students felt that they had never been so close to the profound purpose of the Tao. Su You told them that they did not need to worship the ancients. As long as they continued to cultivate and practice like them, they could be infinitely close to the saints and great sages of ancient times.
Everyone can be "a saint within and a king outside". It does not depend on whether you can achieve or approach it, but on whether you choose to take this path.
It's that simple.
Of course, this only solves the problem of ideological choice. When it comes to learning, it is still very difficult and complicated to integrate the mind and actions.
If you want to fully master only the most superficial Six Arts of a Gentleman, you will never be able to learn them all in a lifetime.
Just by being "cautious", how many people have chosen to give up in the face of hardship and temptation.
But these are the content of the next lesson.
After the lecture, Su You was equivalent to explaining the governing program in Jiaozhi. Li Daocheng and Li Wen Sheng were enlightened. Not only did they admire Su You's academic and nurturing attitude, but they also gained a deeper understanding of his previous actions.
understanding.
At the same time, I am completely assured of his future governance.
Indeed, everything makes sense. This is completely different from Li Changjie's militancy in terms of realm and level.
After the course is over, the students go back to their dormitories. Today is also the opening ceremony, and there will be a placement test in the afternoon.
Taking advantage of noon, Su You held a small banquet to entertain the newly hired lecturers of the Academy.
In fact, they are the ones who gained the most from this class. Many students are still ignorant. The ones who can really understand the truth are mainly this group of people.
A favorite dish of Jiaozhi people is a rich and delicious soup made from beef bones, deer bones, lamb bones, chicken and duck bones, plus spices.
Then they also like to eat buffalo meat.
In order to host this reception, Su You specially hired a royal chef, bought a cow, and gave it to Zhijiao and his students as a tooth sacrifice.
The knowledge of the Zhidao people also had to be tested. Su You wrote a poem, a poem, and a policy question according to the examination method of Meishan Academy.
In one of them, Su You thought that there was no problem in going to the Song Dynasty to get the title of Jinshi. He was very impressed, and then he asked: "Who is Yang Shu?"
I heard a "clang" and someone broke the plate.
A scribe came over tremblingly: "I studied under Yang Shu and saw a great scholar. His crime is greater than heaven. I dare not ask for death."
Seeing Yang Shu's appearance, Su You couldn't help but feel a little puzzled, and asked Li Daocheng: "Mr. Li, what's going on?"
