0278 [500 days with Summer](2/2)

Those ideas of destiny, true love and destiny collapsed in an instant.

"You didn't want to be anyone's girlfriend, and now you're someone's wife." Tom said bitterly, self-deprecatingly and indignantly.

"I'm surprised too."

"I don't think I'll ever understand that it makes any sense."

"It just happened."

"This is what I don't understand. What happened?"

Summer smiled and shook her head: "I woke up one day and I knew it."

"Know what?"

"I've never been sure about being with you."

Tom turned his head, unable to bear the collapse of his worldview, and even wanted to cry in sadness: "You know what's terrible? It would be terrible to find out that everything you believed in was all an illusion!"

"What's the meaning?"

"Destiny, spiritual companionship, true love, and nonsense fairy tales, you are right, I should have listened to you."

"No." Summer smiled, "I think it's because... I was in the deli, reading "The Picture of Dorian Gray", and a man came over and asked me about this book. He is now my husband.

"

"so what?"

"What if I go to the movies? What if I go to lunch somewhere else? What if I go ten minutes late? It's... it's meant to be. I keep thinking... Tom is right."

Originally, Summer absolutely didn't believe in what Tom believed in destiny. But now that Tom didn't believe it, Summer told him that she did.

"No." Tom wanted to deny.

"Yes, really...it's just that you are wrong about me." Summer pressed her hand on Tom's hand, and the ring was particularly conspicuous.

At that moment, Summer seemed so far away in Tom's eyes. They said a friendly goodbye, and Summer walked away, taking Tom's unrealistic fantasies with her.

On the 500th day, Tom picked up his old dream of becoming an architectural designer. During the interview at the company, he met another girl who also came to apply for the job. They chatted awkwardly at first.

After a while, I discovered that they actually knew each other and had the same hobbies.

The girl had seen Tom in the Angel Square, but Tom had not seen her.

"You must not be paying attention."

The girl smiled slightly.

At that moment, Tom felt that all the innocence and illusions he had destroyed by Summer were back again. Nothing is destined by God. You just meet the right person at the wrong time, or meet the right person at the right time. The wrong person. But if you search carefully, you will find that at the right time, there will always be the right person.

There is no destiny, it's all coincidence.

Love is also a coincidence.

Tom invited the girl to drink coffee and get to know her again: "Nice to meet you, my name is Tom."

"I know you very well, my name is Autumn."
