Chapter 16 Ghost Face Spider

I leaned over and saw a wooden sign nailed to the shrub layer with some strange symbols on it.

Professor Wu signaled Lin Qian to pull it out and study it, but he didn't expect that this thing would look like it was growing in the soil. Lin Qian was so excited that he couldn't pull it out.

When Jin Hu saw this situation, he took over and pulled it hard a few times, but he only barely pulled it up a little bit. Seeing that this might cause the sign to be broken, Professor Wu hurriedly asked them to stop.

Seeing that it was not good to use the pull, Professor Wu asked them to use the engineer shovel to slowly dig it down around the wooden sign.

It took more than half an hour to dig this, and the sign was not completely dug out when the stone layer below appeared.

I took out a ruler and measured it, and it was a good guy! It was more than two meters long, and it was full of symbols engraved by knives.

Professor Wu studied for a long time but couldn't figure out the meaning of these symbols. Four eyes guessed whether they would be another landmark. Han Sen said that when he was exploring outside, he often saw some symbols portrayed by primitive religions. According to his estimate, this might be some kind of religious symbol.

Just as everyone was speculating, Qin Xuanling, who had been silent for a long time, finally spoke: "That is the symbol of Guigu Gate."

Guigu Sect? I thought to myself that I had never heard of Guiguzi, when did such a sect appear again?

Qin Xuanling continued to explain, "Guiguzi is a disciple organization founded by Mr. Guiguzi. It originated during the Warring States Period. At first, his purpose was to train talents to help nobles from various countries, so later generations called Guiguzi's disciples a clan.

Because these disciples obtained the true teachings of Guiguzi and were familiar with the methods of governing the country and using military forces, they were very popular among the rulers of various countries. The most famous ones were Sun Bin, Pang Juan, Su Qin and Zhang Yi, while Xu Fu was the closed disciple of Guiguzi.

But at the end of the Warring States Period, as Qin Shihuang unified the six kingdoms and followed the Legalists' ideological strategies, Guiguzi's disciples were gradually suppressed and could not raise their heads.

So Guigumen evolved into a political alliance group and began to engage in small-scale political activities everywhere.

One of the small schools that was unwilling to engage in politics adopted Guiguzi's Five Elements Yin-Yang Technique and was invisible to practice among the people. Later, in order to have a meal, the disciples of this sect began to do some livelihoods to expel ghosts and demons. Now, the so-called Maoshan Sect in Taoism, Zhengyidao, and our Longmendao, have to call them the ancestor.

With the demise of the Qin Dynasty, Guigumen gradually disappeared. Some people said they disbanded in the war, while others said they moved underground and became a secret organization. However, no matter what, this school had a great impact on the social situation of the Qin and Han dynasties.

The symbols you see now are the symbols of Guigumen, indicating that this mountain forest is the place where Guigumen is used to preach and practice arts."

After hearing Qin Xuanling's explanation, Professor Wu couldn't help but be curious: "Where did you know these things?"

Qin Xuanling smiled slightly and said, "You will know it in the future."

After we have concluded, since this wooden sign is the symbol of Guigu Sect, according to Qin Xuanling's explanation, Xu Fu is the closed disciple of Guiguzi, and Xu Fu's disciple must be a disciple of Guigu Sect, which further shows that we are not in the wrong place.

Everyone was tired after searching separately for a long time. Seeing that there was substantial progress, they couldn't help but feel a little happy, so they simply leaned under the tree to catch the cold.

Suddenly, I saw something flashing in the bushes next to me, and I was so scared that I immediately jumped up from the spot.

Almost at the same time, Qin Xuanling turned around and chased after him. It was not until five or six meters away that we could clearly see that it was a wild beast full of red hair.

The red-haired beast looked like a wild boar and a badger, and roared in a low voice with blood spread.

But Qin Xuanling is not an idiot. He kicked the red-haired beast with one flying leg and kicked the red-haired beast in four feet and died on the spot. The speed was so fast that people couldn't tell when he was able to get his feet.

Before we could recover, Xiaoqian suddenly screamed from behind, and then we saw countless red-haired beasts surrounding them with malicious intentions.

I was shocked and sweated in my head. Even ten Qin Xuanlings might not be able to deal with this situation.

Professor Wu and his friends were also panicked when they saw the situation in front of them. They all got up from the ground and formed a circle towards the periphery to prevent being attacked by red-haired beasts.

Jinhu originally brought two shotguns, which were the most suitable weapon to deal with wild beasts, but this guy with a big heart kept it in the camp without bringing it.

I hurriedly asked Qin Xuanling what to do, and he said that in this case it is better not to act rashly and see the situation clearly before talking.

Jin Hu said, when is the fuck? It’s all the time? It’s just a big deal. Hurry up and find a way to escape!

In the critical moment, Han Sen took out the kerosene used for lighting from his backpack and quickly poured it on his clothes.

Then he wrapped his clothes on the branches and made them into torches to light them, and shouted at us: "All beasts are afraid of fire, hurry up and light the torches!"

As a result, this trick really worked. As soon as the fire burned, the red-haired beast around him obviously took several steps back.

When everyone saw that, they took off their coats and made a torch each of them like Han Sen.

Unexpectedly, accidents followed one after another. The army who had been standing outside the circle might have fallen to the ground because the weather was too hot and heatstroke.

The red-haired beasts around him saw the opportunity and rushed up quickly, and in a blink of an eye, the army was dragged out of the circle by them.

Because the incident happened suddenly, the red-haired beasts were very fast, and everyone just watched the army dragged away by them but had no choice but to do anything.

However, this is not over yet. Then Qin Xuanling shouted again: "Be careful, there are monsters!"

As soon as he finished speaking, two ghostly spiders about the size of an off-road vehicle appeared on the redwood tree next to him. When Uncle Long saw this situation, he exclaimed: "My grandma! This big spider must have become a sperm, so big!"

What's even more terrifying is that while we were all stunned by these two ghost-faced spiders, the army suddenly was hung straight onto the top of the tree like a puppet carrying a thread.

Seeing that Dajun was still struggling, he seemed to be still conscious, so he quickly winked at Qin Xuanling.

Qin Xuanling immediately jumped up from the ground, used a footwork similar to the clouds in Wudang, and jumped onto the redwood tree next to him.

But the two ghost-faced spiders were very fast. Before Qin Xuanling could climb to the top of the tree, they spit out the poisonous silk from their mouths and stuck to the tree opposite, rolling up the army and swinging to the opposite side like apes.

Qin Xuanling wanted to chase after him but was powerless, so he had to watch the army gradually disappear from sight by two ghost-faced spiders.

At this time, everyone was a little embarrassed to protect themselves and could not care about the safety of the army for a while.

Looking back, the red-haired beasts around him had no intention of retreating at all, and the torches made by everyone were almost burned.

But strangely, these things never attacked us, but just surrounded us.

Do they have other purposes? With this idea in mind, I asked Qin Xuanling, who had just climbed down from the top of the tree, if the red-haired beast was afraid of something.

Qin Xuanling told me that it was not that they dared not come up, but that he had long sprinkled a kind of medicine powder that could confuse wild beasts' noses and make them lose their ability to distinguish between enemies.

In the wild, many animals rely on their noses to distinguish prey from their similar species. If they destroy their sense of smell, it is no different from poking their eyes blind.

But we still cannot act rashly. Once we anger them, it is not a joke. The row of fangs on their mouths is enough for us to drink a pot.

Seeing that the two sides were in a stalemate, Professor Wu asked everyone if they had any ideas to get rid of these things as soon as possible.

Han Sen said: "The only way to deal with beasts in the wild is to use guns and fire attacks. We can continue to use fire attacks to drive away these red-haired beasts."

Professor Wu shook his head and said, "Even if so many red-haired beasts have tidyed up our shorts, there are not many dry branches on the ground, how can we make it?"

In the flash of lightning, an idea flashed through my mind. If there was not enough fuel and there were not many dry branches, what if I lit the entire jungle?

Then I asked Qin Xuanling to help him pick a few dry branches to the top of the tree. He seemed to understand what I meant, and then used his skills to climb up the top of the tree and folded several large dry branches to throw them down.

Han Sen thought it was for everyone to burn, so he quickly poured some kerosene on it.

Just as he picked up the branches and was about to light them, I snatched them over and said, "What's the point of just burning them, why don't you get some excitement?"

Han Sen inexplicably asked me what I was going to do?
