Chapter 43 Pain

"Sophia." Alexander said the name again.

Sophia once had such a headscarf in her hand, and this gypsy also had one. This person's age should be similar to Sophia's father. What's more, Sophia once told him more than once that the headscarf was woven for his father by her mother, which means that this pattern is not common.

The most important thing is that he remembered that someone once called this gypsy "Nashan".

When he saw the turban exposed on the gypsy's chest, he called out Sophia's name without thinking. The wit burst out of life and death in the moment made him not even have time to think about whether it was useful. It was not until Nashan's knife stopped in front of his throat that he was sure that he had guessed correctly.

"Sophia, she is my wife," Alexander said hurriedly. "Her father's name is Nashan. Do you know her?"

"Sophia, Sophia."

Nashan's hands were trembling slightly. Of course he knew her. Even after his wife died, her existence became the only source of happiness he could feel. Even if he was expelled from the tribe and became a real homeless man, Nashan never felt depressed because he exchanged his hardships for his daughter's life.

Nashan didn't know where the tribe went later, and he didn't know how his daughter lived in the tribe, which made him worry about Sophia all the time, but now the Gajie man who fell in front of his knife suddenly said that he was Sophia's husband, which made Nashan even more angry when he was surprised.

"What did you do to her?" Nashan's knife tilted slightly, and the thick back hit Alexander's shoulder hard. Then he lifted him from the ground without waiting for Alexander to make a sound. "Where is my Sophia? If you dare to touch her, I will make you become a eunuch in the Sultan Palace!"

As he said that he suddenly remembered what Alexander said, and then he shook the boy Gaje in front of him even more angrily: "You have touched her, right? You said she is your wife, I will kill you now, you bastard!"

"She is my wife whom I married according to tribal customs," Alexander could only shout loudly. Nashan's anger was uncontrollable. He knew that if he could not try to calm down Nashan's anger, perhaps before he could say that Sophia was missing, he had been cut into pieces by his angry father. "She is my wife, the wife who performed a blood fusion ceremony with me!"

Nashan stopped shaking his hand, and his face showed incredible astonishment. Although he could not believe anything about this cunning Jiajieren, he could not deny that what Jiajieren said still touched him.

"Nashan, why didn't you kill this man?" A bohemian rushed over, holding a long sword with a strange style in his hand. The wide front and narrow back looked heavy. If he was an experienced soldier, he would know how terrible it was to face a cavalry that used such a knife.

"This man," Nashan grabbed Alexander's shoulder and gasped, as if in this way he could accept the surprise brought to him by the news he had just heard. "I want to keep him useful."

"When did you delay so much? And that big man, you won't let him kill him?" the Bohemian nagged dissatisfiedly. "These guys have caused us too much trouble. Maybe the people in the castle are ready at this time."

"I know," Nashan looked at the slightly tilted cliff. Although he could not see the scene below, he could have guessed that because of the huge rocks pushed down by Alexander and others, the castle at the foot of the mountain might have become alert. It can be said that this sneak attack had completely failed. "Let's leave here, it's useless to stay."

"Let me kill this guy," the Bohemian swayed the machete in his hand in anger. "He ruined our business."

"I said he is useful!" Nashan stared at the Bohemians fiercely. "Tell Bowka that our sneak attack failed, so he should not be so stupid and go back to the woods outside the castle immediately. We can only wait for the Kosencha people to leave the city now."

The Bohemian licked his lips with some reluctance, but nodded: "Okay, you are the leader, but we just left like that, don't even go in and take a look at the secret passage? Maybe the Kosencha didn't even think that their secret had been discovered."

Nashan shook his head impatiently and said, "Okay, if you don't give up, go and have a look, but I advise you to be careful. Maybe the Kosencha people have set up an ambush in the secret passage. In such places, they often die if they die."

Nashan's words made the Bohemians a little dilemma. He glanced at the cliff and finally said, "I will be careful."

Then he called his companion to walk towards the secret passage.

"Bohemia, what are you doing?"

A strange tone sounded, and the man wearing a bird's beak mask slowly walked over. The two pieces of glass on his mask shone faintly in the moonlight, and the faint breathing sound from the hole in the bird's beak sounded dull and weird.

When the man saw Alexander's face clearly, the man stopped slightly, and then he said dullly: "Kill this person."

"No," Nashan looked at the masked man with a blank expression. "I want him to live, this person is very important to me."

The expression on his face was not visible because he was wearing a mask, but from the sudden stiffness of the man, you could still feel that the man seemed to be very angry. His hand slowly pressed on the hilt of the sword, and the two subordinates following him slowly surrounded him.

"Do you want to fight?" Nashan slowly shook the scimitar in his hand without fear. "You three may not be my opponents, and here we are," Nashan said, shaking it with a scimitar to the side, "It seems that there are more people than you."

As he said, several figures suddenly flashed in the shadow of the hillside, one of which appeared directly behind a tree not far from Uriu, which scared the Moors who were about to turn around and escape and stopped immediately.

"You carry us and others?" The masked man said angrily, "What are you going to do?"

"I just don't want to go back empty-handed. I thought I might be able to make a big profit if I could attack the castle. Now it seems that there is no chance," Nashan listened to it. "The Kosencha people are indeed prepared. I hope the two kids of Shivana will not be so bad."

"Kill this man, I'll give you 50 more Florins." The masked man suddenly spoke, and his words also caused a stir among the several Bohemians who had just surrounded him.

Alexander stared at the masked man. At this time, he was no longer so nervous. Nashan was obviously very concerned about Sophia. Although when he heard that Sophia was missing, he might burst out with more terrifying anger, at least there was no danger at this time.

And he no longer worried about the danger that the Kosenza had not discovered the secret path.

If the few of them had not left the secret path before, although the falling rock might attract attention, some people might have guessed that the secret path had a problem. But now they had just left the secret path cliff and there was such a big noise. Alexander didn't believe that Ruosha would not even guess the relationship between them.

As Nashan said, as long as the Kosencha people were not caught off guard, then only a few people could guard the road tightly.

So while Alexander was thinking about how to deal with Nashan's questioning in his heart, he was closely observing the surroundings. When the masked man insisted on killing him, Alexander vaguely felt something was wrong. When the masked man actually said he would use 50 Florins to exchange for his life, Alexander had already confirmed that this man knew him!

Moreover, I am likely to know this person!

"50 Florins," a Bohemian swallowed and walked over. "Nashan, kill this kid, there are 50 Florins."

"Shut up, are you going to tell me what to do?" Nashan glared at the Bohemian fiercely. "I said this kid is useful to me."

What surprised the pressure was that these Bohemians seemed to be afraid of Nashan. Although they were a little dissatisfied, several people still closed their mouths. Moreover, their eyes looked at the masked man with Nashan, and the two sides were stalemate on the cliff for a while.

The masked man's shoulders were slightly undulating and he was obviously very angry, but obviously because of some concern, he could not even attack even though he was angry.

"You will regret your decision." The masked man stared at Nashan behind the glass lenses, and then waved over Alexander, and then he and his men walked through Nashan toward the hillside.

"Nashan, what's the use of this guy? He's more valuable than 50 Florins." A bohemian walked over curiously. "Is he also a nobleman, just like the young master of Kosencha who was caught by us?"

Nashan ignored his companions' curious inquiry. He grabbed Alexander's shoulder and pushed forward and walked down the mountain. At the same time, he ordered the people next to him: "Take both of his companions here. These people are now our prisoners. Maybe they are quite valuable."

Hearing this, the Bohemians were immediately excited. They tied Burley, who had just woken up, and Uriu, who had not dared to escape, and then rushed them down the mountain.

By this time, Alexander could have been sure that Nashan should have a good status among these Bohemians, especially after listening to his conversation with the masked man, he even vaguely felt that perhaps these Bohemian mercenaries might have listened to him.

Sure enough, when he walked down the cliff along the hillside, he looked at the Bohemians who came towards them and greeted Nashan one after another, Alexander could have confirmed that Nashan was the real leader of these Bohemian mercenaries.

A bohemian who seemed to be a little older than last year rushed over and quickly said something in a language that Alexander could not understand. Perhaps he was speaking too quickly. Nashan had to ask a few more questions and then turned his head and stared at Alexander: "They said your people caught Shiva."

Alexander couldn't help but nodded, he knew that Ruosha was indeed prepared.

But the young Bohemian immediately showed hostility, and he pulled out his short knife from his waist and rushed towards Alexander!

Nashan almost didn't move his feet and threw the Bohemian to the ground with just a wave of his hand. He scolded him while he didn't have time to stand up and stepped on his back.

"Take this kid away," Nashan ordered the people next to him, and then grabbed Alexander's collar and walked under a tree. "Now listen, tell me everything you know." Nashan said and raised his hand to stop Alexander who was about to speak. "I remind you to think about it before you can say that I am not a Gaje. Maybe my daughter is nothing to you, but Sophia is my life."

The cold sweat fell on Alexander's forehead. Even the terrifying scimitar in front of him did not feel so terrifying. After all, the excitement when confronting the enemy can often make people forget the fear for the time being, but facing an angry father, Alexander didn't know what would happen next.

"Tell me where Sophia is?" Nashan continued to ask.

Alexander pondered for a moment, and he knew that the next answer might determine his destiny, but at this time, he looked at this man who tried to suppress his feelings and would tremble when he talked about his daughter's name, and suddenly felt that he could not speak any deceptive and perfunctory words.

Sophia is his wife, no matter how ridiculous it is, it is a fact.

So, how should he answer when facing Sophia's father?

"I don't know," Alexander finally spoke, and as soon as he said that Nashan's face became extremely angry, but he continued, "we were separated on the way from Sicily to Naples, and I don't know where she is now."

"What did you say! Don't you know?" Nashan asked almost word by word, with a terrible light flashing in his eyes, and the desperate look as if he was as if he was hurt and beastly. "You said she was your wife, but you don't know her whereabouts?"

"I'm sorry Nashan. If you lie to you, I will definitely lie to you. But now I don't want to do this," Alexander said slowly. "We are separated on the road. I have been looking for her, but there is no news about her yet."

"But what are you doing in Kosencha now? Haven't you been looking for her?" Nashan asked in a tone that didn't seem very angry, but the more this sounded, the more dangerous it seemed, because his eyes had become extremely cold. Looking at Alexander's eyes seemed to be looking at a dead person. "Tell me, what happened to my daughter, I'll tell you before I kill you, then maybe I'll be kinder and make you die less painful."

Looking at Nashan, Alexander suddenly smiled strangely. He spread his hands and put his body completely at the father: "Come on, kill me, I didn't protect her, but she protected me. Not only did she save my life, she was also willing to be whipped by Lao Gurja for me. If she didn't leave the tribe with me, she wouldn't be in danger, but now I don't even know where she is. Come and kill me! Kill the person who killed your daughter!"

Alexander became more and more excited as he spoke. He suddenly felt that he had been waiting for this moment for a long time. Since Sophia disappeared, he had been suppressing himself from thinking about the possibility that all kinds of thoughts made him suffer. There was a voice in his heart that kept telling him that he would always find Sophia. When Naples, in addition to sending Uriu to the port again and again to inquire about the whereabouts of the ship where Sophia was, he was in the lookout post to inquire about all kinds of news from the drinkers who often came and went.

But every time he inquired, he only had disappointment, disappointment again and again, and countless disappointments. Although the voice that made him persevere never disappeared, he knew in his heart that it was just him deceiving himself.

He dared not have a certain idea, and he didn't want to have it. He could only tell himself that his little wife would always return to him. Even if she had experienced such a terrible thing, as long as she returned to him, everything would be fine.

He would make her forget those terrible things and would spend her whole life comforting her body and mind.

But now, when facing Nashan, Alexander suddenly realized that he had been deceiving himself from the beginning.

Sophia is gone, and Sophia may never be able to return to him!

"Come and kill me," Alexander finally shed his first tears since he was separated from Sophia, but there was a relaxed smile on his face that seemed to put down everything. "So that you can avenge your daughter."

Nashan's eyes showed murderous intent, and his thick and powerful arms were too hard and his muscles and bones rose.

"Kill you, no." Nashan's voice was also hard. As his clenched fist hit him hard, Alexander immediately covered his stomach in pain and bent down!

With one punch, another, Nashan's fist kept hitting Alexander hard, blood flowed out through Alexander's mouth, his nose had been broken, and his eyes were swollen high. When Nashan's tightly clenched fists fell on his back, Alexander's face was buried directly in the puddle next to the tree roots.

“Stand up!”

Nashan grabbed Alexander's hair and pulled him up, and another fierce fist.

"Haha, why don't you kill me?" Alexander couldn't stand any longer. He leaned against the tree with a crooked body, and let out a strange laugh under Nashan's punches and punches. "It's the best way to relieve my hatred. Come on, don't you love your daughter?"

"Shut up!" Nashan roared, and the beaten beat made him feel a little breathless. Looking at Alexander, who had been beaten beyond recognition, he picked up the scimitar thrown on the ground. "I said I wouldn't let you die too comfortable. I want you to pay the price for Sophia's death."

"Yes, I should pay the price," he tried to open his eyes, but because his eyes were swollen, he had to make himself stand up as straight as possible. Then he raised his head and looked at the canopy on his head with a completely blurred look because of his congestion. "I should have been punished for a long time, what are you waiting for?"

Nashan's knife pressed against Alexander's neck, and the stinging pain that cut his skin gave him a relief.

"Sophia, I'm here." Alexander said to himself.

"No, this is too cheap for you." Then he heard Nashan's curse sound in his ear.

"You will be free when you die, and then I am the only one who suffers for my daughter. I will not be so cheap." Nashan's voice exuded endless anger and hatred. "I want you to live, and I can see how deep your pain is, so let you live in pain all the time. Don't just forget it, unless you find my daughter, you will never be free."

After saying that, Nashan let go of Alexander and left.
