Chapter 1 Shock at sea

The rugged coast of Sicily has gradually disappeared under the sea level. The beautiful island has now mixed with the darker sky in the south, becoming a thin line hidden beneath the green orchid and dim red.

The wind was blowing on the sea, and the real cold wind rolled up the gradually increasing waves and hit the boat gang. The huge Clark ship made a dull "squeak" sound and swayed.

Alexander stood on the deck and looked at the boat with interest. Although he came to this era from the sea, he had not had the chance to truly see such a huge sea overlord representing the pinnacle of this era. Looking at the bow sails like tents and the swelling triangular tail sails, Alexander couldn't help but admire the superb skills of people in this era, especially when he saw the many paddles stretching out from both sides of the ship like centipedes, swinging back and forth under the command of whistles, and smashing waves on the sea surface, he felt the hull jump forward with the ups and downs of the waves. Alexander couldn't help but feel a wonderful feeling in his heart, as if at this moment, even the moody ocean was nothing to fear.

Then he saw a dark and shiny face that was originally dark and shiny, but now he became a little yellow and awkward.

Uliu is seasick.

Obviously, this Moorish young man who believed that he knew the best of the rules and had some romantic thoughts that Alexander didn't understand was a landslide. According to him, the Moors might be able to find the most precious drop of water in the desert and the Gobi, but they could not stand a drop of water on the sea.

Despite this, Uriu seemed to be trying to maintain his decent attitude as a qualified servant. He wanted to stand as straight as possible, but even if the boat did not shake, the Moorish body had already started to shake itself. Then he staggered to the side of the boat with a pale face and cold feet, leaned out and vomited at the sea.

Alexander walked over and patted the servant's back helplessly, which made Uriu vomit even more vividly.

Alexander was lucky to find that he was not seasick, but he just had to take care of two seasick people, and he was a little too busy.

Uriu was vomiting, and Sophia was simply lying on a pile of goods in the semi-submersible cabin and could no longer move.

Since stepping onto the deck of the boat, Sophia's face turned blue. When the boat left the anchorage and began to sail on the calm sea, Sophia simply stayed in a corner and refused to move.

Now she was even pale and half asleep. The soft pile of silk fabrics under her didn't make her feel much better. She just felt the shaking of the whole boat and the "crying" squeaking sound from the boards, and she was so uncomfortable that she wanted to cry.

Alexander came over with a bowl of water, but Sophia looked at the water lines wandering around the bowl, and her heart turned her heart even more ugly. She turned her head and didn't want Alexander to see her like this, but when she moved, she felt dizzy and painful, which made her humble.

"Okay, drink some water." Looking at the girl who was always energetic, she looked sick and anxious at this time, but Alexander had no choice. He took out some peppermint and put it on Sophia's lips. This was given to him by a businessman who often went out on the same boat.

The cool feeling made Sophia seem to be better. She forced a smile and then quickly took a breath so that she would not feel uncomfortable again.

"It should be soon, we can get ashore soon," Alexander comforted Sophia. "Then I will take you to the places you told you. Now, close your eyes and have a good sleep. It will be uncomfortable to keep staring at the top of your head like this."

Sophia nodded weakly, then closed her eyes and tried to sleep as much as possible. She just looked at her shaking eyelids, and it was obvious that the taste was still not good.

As the night gradually became deeper, Alexander leaned against the pile of goods and closed his eyes to maintain his spirit.

How is Sicily now? He thought about it.

Alexander cannot help but admit that Camus is a slippery man. After all, if a person lives to be 80 years old, then the things he has experienced are enough for young people to learn well.

Obviously, everyone was plotted against by this old man this time.

Whether it is Mrs. Gong, Bochum, Osborne, or Alexander, any of these people stand alone will not be able to confront the nobles.

Mrs. Gong Xiang has had many years of influence in the aristocratic circle, but she is from Aragon.

Bochung had an army and a group of mercenaries who were entirely his own, but he did not get the support of the Palermos.

As for Osborne, a slick man who has a relationship with almost everyone in Palermo, but he is just a tailor.

And Alexander, after the bloody night, received the gratitude from the bishops and many Palermos who were brought down at that time, but he was young and lacked a backer.

None of these people alone poses a threat to the aristocratic congress, but what if these people unite?

The noble lady of Aragon, the mercenary captain who controls the city defense force, the court tailor with various classes of Palermo, and a young Greek man who had served by Alfonso and was also attracted attention from the bishops.

Once these few people gather together, what kind of changes will happen is beyond anyone's imagination.

Or maybe others haven't thought of this yet, but Alexander thinks that Camus must have thought of it.

That old man was difficult to deal with. Alexander felt it from the beginning, but he still didn't guess that Camuli would make such a quick decision.

Perhaps Camuli had considered this possibility just when they were just secretly connected without showing any ambitions, and before they even realized it themselves.

But even though I thought about it, I had various concerns about taking action against them.

So do you specialize in pinching persimmons? When Alexander thought of this, he slapped the corners of his mouth slightly.

He looked up to Camuli with a high look, but Alexander felt that he had been somewhat overbearing before when it came to the aristocratic congress.

Think about it, even when he had already grasped the highest power in Sicily, the aristocratic congressional group could only take the weakest link among the few people who thought it was threatening. This shows that the status of the congressional group was actually not optimistic.

Think about it again, maybe in half a year or a few months, another palace prime minister may be sent, and by then the situation of the noble congress will definitely be even more embarrassing.

By then, even if the congress was not disbanded, Camus and his friends would not have a good life with the arrival of the new palace.

Or maybe it is because of the thought of these that the congressional group is urgently unable to try to restrain their power while the palace officials are suspended. It is precisely because of this that they must eliminate these possible hidden dangers early.

What will they do to Mrs. Gong Xiang and Bochum next? Alexander thought about it.

It is impossible to admit that it is precisely because he is the weakest among these people that he was kicked away so simply and directly. As for the other people, it is not so easy to deal with.

Although this is annoying, it is also a fact. Alexander knows very well that he is not worth enough in the eyes of others.

At least in the opinion of the congress, he could do whatever he wanted without any scruples.

"Then let's see what's going on next. Don't let me down," Alexander moved and lay more comfortable. "Then the new palace minister took office, and Sicily was about to be lively."

It seems that it is right to leave Sicily at this time. While Alexander told him this, he knew in his heart that this was just an excuse.

Everything comes from strength, and this is an unquestionable reality, especially in such an era.

Sophia next to her made a low murmur. Alexander gently placed the remaining mint candy on her lips. Watching her slowly put the candy into her mouth, Alexander smiled slightly and continued to lie down.

It was already deep in the night. Apart from the sound of people walking by on the deck above my head, there were the sound of snoring coming from the next door.

This boat can hold much more things than I thought, so you can get several cabins by using partitions.

Alexander was treated pretty well. He and Sophia got a such compartment. Although it was full of goods, they had to use piles of goods as beds, but it was much better than others who had to squeeze together.

There was someone walking around above his head, and Alexander knew that it was the sailor on the night.

Even on the north side of the Mediterranean, pirates from North Africa are still extremely rampant. Sometimes some bold pirates will not only loot large fleets, but also directly attack cities along the European coast of the Mediterranean.

Fortunately, it is not very far from Sicily to Naples, and it can be reached in just two days.

There was a rustling sound next door, and then a smell of smell spread in the cabin. Alexander couldn't help but frown and leaned to the side. At this moment, he heard someone gently knocking on the hatch door above his head.

Alexander immediately grabbed the sword next to him and gently pushed Sophia to wake him up. Then he walked up the wooden ladder two steps and asked in a low voice: "Who is it?"

"It's my master." Uriu's voice came, his voice was very low, as if he was afraid of disturbing someone.

Uriu was arranged in the back bottom warehouse with her luggage.

Alexander put it on the hatch door and listened carefully. No other sound outside except Uriu's slightly nervous and gasping sound. He gently removed the wooden plug, then opened the door a little, and then suddenly opened it.

Uriu appeared in front of her with a nervous face.

Alexander pulled him out of the cabin and closed the door.

"Master, something is wrong," Uliu tried to lower his voice. He pointed to the other side of the partition and whispered. "I just saw a few people seemingly discussing something when I was sleeping in Houcang, and then I saw someone distribute weapons to them."

"What's going on."

Alexander's heart was thrilled. In this era, many merchant ships actually worked part-time as pirates, and some merchants even came from pirates themselves.

As for some sailors on the ship who may become greedy and mutiny because they see the expensive goods they transport, it is even more common.

"Master, what should we do?" Uriu asked anxiously. He did not carry any weapons. Looking at the sword in Alexander's hand, he looked around for the guy who wanted to find a handy guy.

The bad news brought by Uriu made Alexander's head explode. If this was on the shore, there was still a chance to escape, but how could he escape in this vast ocean?

Although he had no experience, Alexander knew very well that if those people really wanted to rob them, they would never leave a living place, because many people's homes were on the shore. If the passengers on his boat left alive, the gallows were waiting for them.

A sound of footsteps suddenly came from the stern of the boat, and Uriu's black face turned white in an instant.

"Clut all the goods at the door!" Alexander had no time to think of another way, so he walked to the partition and slapped the wooden board hard.

"What are you doing? Are you not allowed to sleep in the middle of the night?"

An angry voice came from the next door, and then the others who were awakened also spoke and cursed.

"Everyone is about to get up! The crew mutiny!"

Alexander shouted desperately, and his words made the curse next door stop, but before the people there could react, with the huge impact, the cabin door next door had been knocked open from outside!

Then there were sounds of swords and axes chopping and screams one after another!

"Clog the door and the board!"

Alexander roared in a low voice and pushed a wooden box beside him towards the partition.

At the same time, Uliu and Sophia had worked hard to roll a heavy wooden barrel to the tilted cabin door. Just when they were a little distance from the door, the cabin door had been knocked open, and a scimitar that could not stop cutting immediately reached the gap between the door and the wooden barrel!
