Chapter 40 Attack (The Palace)

In history, Michelangelo was famous for his sculpture master for centuries and was regarded by later generations as one of the three masters of the Renaissance. However, in addition to his extraordinary talent in sculptures that are praised by the world, his extraordinary achievements in the study of architectural history, especially in Italy's ancient architectural history, have rarely been mentioned.

Even when Alexander first met Michelangelo, he was completely fascinated by the unique "style" of "Xiaomi", and never thought that this person would have too much interaction with him, let alone what would be useful.

But now Alexander cannot refuse to admit that this future three heroes have helped him so much.

Combining Michelangelo's Norman architectural sketches and the archaeological results of ancient buildings in memory about the excavation of Palermo's later generations 6 times, Alexander has drawn a map of this Norman architecture in his mind that is more detailed than Michelangelo's drawings.

Two holes in different directions are right in front of you, one leading to the Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady and the other leading to the palace.

Alexander even remembered some details of the underground corridors that he had seen when he visited the Sicily Palace. This was because he was curious and deliberately walked to some quiet places, but he happened to bump into a couple in a secluded corner. The scene made the three of them very embarrassed.

Because of this, Alexander remembered that the tour guide later seriously reminded all tourists that because this underground maze was too complicated, even if professional archaeologists were not prepared, they would not dare to go deep into the depths easily to prevent getting lost. Therefore, they asked everyone to follow the signs on the signs instead of personal actions.

"I'll go to the cathedral." The bald mercenary said without hesitation. His eyes were shining with a cunning light, which was very different from his rough appearance.

Alexander nodded. He knew that the bald man chose this because the cathedral had huge wealth accumulated over the years. Although there were countless gold and silver in the palace, it was pale in comparison with the cathedral. What's more, there were priests in the cathedral. Although they had to face the enemy themselves without help, the mercenaries were more willing to eat alone compared to the wealth.

While speaking, Osborne had already called the Aragon soldiers who came with him to walk towards the entrance of the palace. For the tailor, everything he had come from the palace. If something happened to Gomez, he would fall down. The tailor knew very well what he looked like in the Palermo people. Although years of caution made him not worried that he would be hanged once the palace collapsed, once he had no backer, just think about the creditors who had defaulted on various debts coming to him, it would be enough for him to sweat.

Alexander was also going to the palace and was not worried about whether the bishops would be attacked. Since Alfonso had decided to cooperate with the French, not only the bishops, but probably even Pope Alexander VI, who was far away in Rome, would not take it to his heart. He just didn't know what the French promised him, so that he not only did not hesitate to be enemies with the Holy See, but even his own family in Aragon had betrayed.

Alexander remembered that Osborne said that Alfonso was from a prominent family in Aragon and had a great family power, but at this time he could no longer ask about these questions.

The corridor leading to the palace was obviously formed over the years with the gradual transformation of these ancient buildings. Some places were not even underground, but were gradually formed in the gaps between different eras and different styles of buildings. From the narrow walls that were so narrow that one person could only pass by side, the sky was dark and there was no star.

"Did you hear anything?" Osborn asked Alexander behind him uneasy. He had heard the shouts from the wind more than once, as if something was in a distant place, but because he was in the half-underground corridor between two large palaces, he could not hear clearly what he had born. "Can those people have already attacked the palace?" Osborn asked nervously.

"I don't know, but there seem to be many people." Alexander was somewhat worried. He didn't expect that the French would dare to play so much. Only now did he know why Orleans suddenly ran to Sicily like a snoring.

One attacked the Bishops' Order, and the other directly sent people to attack the Sicily Palace and attack the Palace Prime Minister.

No matter who he and Alfonso flirt with, these two people are really bold.

A soldier walked in front raised his weapon and the team stopped. At this time, the road had been slightly relaxed, but the trend was also obviously upward. Calculated the distance was about to reach the vicinity of the palace.

Alexander walked in front and unexpectedly saw someone lying on the ground. When he saw the face clearly, he was stunned.

Mr. Ziony, husband of Mrs. Neodora.

"He's still alive."

The soldier said as he grabbed Ziony's tight collar and pulled it. Mr. Ziony spitted a heavy breath from his throat.

"It seems you are not lucky, Mr. Zioni," Osborn looked at the man with a gloomy face. "I really underestimated you before, but I didn't expect you to have something to do with this matter. You did the last time you had that incident at home?"

"Joker, a naughty embryo," Ziony said in pain, but he still couldn't help but struggle. "Can you imagine the anger of a husband, the anger of a man!"

"You are a man now," Osborn hummed disdainfully. "Tell me what's going on. How many of you have entered the palace?"

Ziony coughed and laughed, and blood began to burst out from his mouth: "Many, many of us, so many that you can't imagine, the whole Palermo people are ours."

"Shut up you coward," Osborne grabbed Ziony's shoulder and shook it, regardless of his injury, because the angry tailor even yelled out the Aragon country dialect that he had never spoken for many years. "Say what I want to hear, tell me where all your people are, or I will kill you now."

"They went to find the palace prince, and his wife," Ziony's mind gradually blurred, his head drooped softly, and his mouth was filled with vague voices. "Niodora, I don't forgive you, I will go to hell to find you, you..."

Osborne pushed Zioni's heavy body away with force. He was a little anxious. Although he didn't know how this unlucky husband would die here, he thought about the words he said and the unsettling chaotic sounds he heard, and the tailor's forehead was soaked with sweat.

Alexander was also anxious. Ziony's last words made him uneasy. Thinking that Sophia was in the palace, as if she was still next to Mrs. Gong Xiang, his palms were sweating and his heart was beating.

"Sophia!"

Alexander's shout echoed in the palace.

Although the entire palace was panicked due to an accident in the square, making sneak attacks easier, there were still enough guards in the palace.

It was just because it was too unexpected that many soldiers had lost their lives before they even understood what happened.

The sneak attack was successful at the beginning. When the sudden enemy began to kill people in the palace, Gomez even thought that a few people who were rioting outside the palace rushed in.

Although he was a little surprised, he was not panicked, but ordered the guards around him to arrest these "crazy men" as soon as possible.

But as the roar of muskets sounded not far away, he realized that something might be wrong, but it was already a little late.

Several enemies who suddenly appeared blocked Gomez and the remaining two guards at the entrance of a corridor before they understood what they had given birth. The two soldiers had no time to sandwich the palace in the middle and retreated into the corridor close to the stone pillars. Then they were surrounded by those people.

"I am Gomez, the Sicily Palace!"

Gomez shouted loudly. He was not trying to remind the other party of his noble identity. From the moment these people appeared, he realized that he had guessed wrongly before. It was obvious that they were here to kill him. He just wanted the guards from other places to come and save him as soon as possible.

But his shouting was not the guards flocking to rescue him, but the gangsters who were running to other places rushed towards him after hearing the sound.

What made Gomez even more frightened was that he heard two of the criminals shouting in French.

The French are actually French!

Fear made Gomez tremble all over his body at this moment. He did not expect that a Frenchman would suddenly attack the Sicily palace. Even more terrifyingly, he saw several people running towards the backyard, where his wife and children stayed.

"Don't hurt my family!"

Gomez screamed almost begging, but what answered him was the figures in the distance had already entered the yard and the horror and screams that came out of the yard immediately afterwards.

"Lord!"

Gomez rushed forward despite the guard's obstruction, and then he suddenly stopped, looked down at the sword body that was halfway into his chest, and then tilted his body and fell to the ground.
