Chapter 67 The Covenant in the Cave

Since coming to this era, although I have encountered many difficulties and obstacles, and even experienced life-threatening dangers, I have never been like now. Even though I know that the woman in front of me is full of tricks, I have to follow her and move forward, and may even fall into her trap the next moment.

Alexander pressed his ear against the stone blocking the mine and listened carefully. He needed to determine whether it was safe outside, or at least determine whether he could use the woman as a hostage to escape from danger even if there were enemies.

At the same time, he stared at Connie Ou with vigilance to prevent her from doing anything else.

It was quiet outside and no movement was heard, which made Alexander a little strange. The only explanation he thought was that, as he had guessed, the strange army hidden in the valley should have been related to Connie O, and she obviously counted even Columbo.

Connie Ou looked at Alexander quietly. Seeing him sticking to the stone and listening to the movement, she not only did not make any sound, but instead put her ears on her and listened not far from Alexander.

After listening for a while, a smile seemed to appear on her face.

"No movement, right?" Connie Ou seemed to smile. She hugged her shoulders slightly to warm herself up and whispered. "You either go out as I said, or we both freeze to death here. Decide quickly. I can't stand the cold anymore."

Alexander glared at the woman in front of him. At this time, both of them were pressing half of their faces against the stone, very close to each other, and even the cold air they breathed when they breathed.

The woman faced Alexander with a playful smile, as if mocking him for his dilemma. When she saw the look he looked over from the glimmer, Connie O's suddenly moved forward slightly, almost pressing her face on Alexander's face and whispered: "If there are all my people outside, you will be my captive. Although you have scratched your neck so painfully, I can forgive you for your unreasonableness to me just now, but I want you to listen to my orders from now on."

"Then you were betrayed by you like Columbo?" Alexander asked coldly. He leaned his head back and listened carefully to the outside world again, but except for the faint sound of the wind outside, it was always quiet, which made him a little difficult to make a decision.

Alexander had no doubt that this woman would immediately backfire once she got rid of his control, but it was not a solution to be stiff. Seeing the woman's fingers slightly moved on his hand holding the sword, he first felt a little bored and wanted to shake it away, but then suddenly his heart moved.

"Where is Columbo now?" Alexander asked suddenly, feeling the woman's fingers on the back of his hand paused, and his eyes were fixed on the face that was close to him.

Connie Ou has a good appearance, but it is not the kind that is amazing. She does not have the proud figure that is almost completely inconsistent with her age, nor does she have the lively but arrogant temperament of Ruosha. As for her appearance simply, she is also compared to Lucrezia.

But at this time, Connie Oujen made Alexander dare not look down on him at all, or it had nothing to do with whether she was beautiful or not, or whether she was a woman. He now completely treated Connie Ou as an opponent, and he was also a very difficult opponent.

"Tell me where Columbo is?" Alexander asked again. He felt that he seemed to have ignored something. From the beginning, he regarded Columbo as the culprit of all this, but as things changed, he found that the woman in front of him seemed to be the messenger behind everything. This made him forget Columbo for the time being in surprise. Now, when he was facing a dilemma, he suddenly remembered this key figure.

"I thought you wouldn't ask about that person anymore." Connie Ou smiled.

Alexander noticed Connie O's tone when talking about Columbo. He thought for a moment and suddenly felt a sudden blow in his heart.

"What did Caesar send you?" Connie O's turn asked this time. Although it looked cold, she didn't seem to be in a hurry to go out of the mine. "Just to open up the road from Sunnyro to Rome?"

Looking at Connie O's flashing gaze, Alexander felt that he had guessed something. While he was secretly surprised by the woman's methods, he tried to use a calm tone that was not surprisingly easy to ask: "Tell me, have you killed Columbo?"

Connie O's eyes showed a smile, as if he had finally seen a victory smile.

"You finally guessed it," Connie O's nodded. "Yes, Columbo is dead, just before you left, so do you know who killed him?"

Alexander looked at the woman in front of him silently, and after a while, he shook his head helplessly and said, "I think it should be me."

"That's right, it's you," Connie O's nodded as if the student who answered the right answer. "Originally, when people see his body, they will find something from him, and then they will find that you are the murderer who killed him. As for the reason, maybe it's just a temporary dispute, but more of you discover some secrets between him and Sforza's house, and you are obviously a spy sent by Caesar."

Alexander listened silently. He was sure that this woman was really crazy. He realized that even though he had not discovered too much, he was destined to fall into a trap in the end, or that no matter who came, he would end up with such a result.

From the day the Mine in Sanroni stopped supplying coal to Rome, the woman planned it all.

What's ridiculous is that the one who ordered the discontinuation of coal was precisely Columbus.

But he would never have thought that this was an order to send him to hell!

Regardless of whether there is this heavy snow or not, Rome will have to send people to thoroughly investigate why Sanroni's mines will stop supplying coal.

And no matter who the film was sent or what mission it was, this person will eventually play the role of the murderer.

Or, it should be said, what else can provoke a dispute or even a war than a messenger from Rome who killed the Sforza family?

Think about those strange armies, no matter whether they are Ottomans or not, as long as they appear, everything will become more complicated and may even completely disrupt the already terrible situation.

Alexander looked at Connie Ou with incredible eyes. No matter who she worked for or whether the past she said was true or not, now, the woman in front of her was completely provoking an inevitable war for the future Italy alone.

"You want to use me to start a war, or you still think that once you use it, you will give me the same fate as Columbo."

Connie Ou did not speak, but made a slight sound, and Alexander immediately noticed that she seemed to be about to retreat.

Alexander laughed. Although this woman really made him feel difficult to deal with, he felt an indescribable ease when he figured out the reason, because he knew that although this woman was powerful, she also had fatal weaknesses.

"I don't know if the stories you told me before are true, nor do you know if you have a father who has been framed and threatened," Alexander said with a chuckling, "but I know you must have other relatives, such as the boy who informed you before."

The sword body that was originally on Connie Ou's shoulder trembled slightly, and Alexander keenly noticed some changes in Connie Ou in the darkness.

"Maybe he is your last family, maybe the only person you trust and rely on. As for your father and family, I think they still exist," Alexander said, "You know I came with the army. They have an army composed of Bohemians and farmers in my territory. I not only paid them generously, but also gave them enough spoils. I even promised them that they could get the land, all of which was to let them obey my orders. I promise you that I will double the 'reward' you, and they will find every one of your relatives and friends, and your father who is not true or false, and then kill them."

Silence, there were only two people's heavy breathing sounds in the darkness.

"You're scaring me." Connie O's finally spoke.

"No, this is a reminder," Alexander said dismissively, "those Bohemians are not my subordinates, they are my wife's father's people. But because of this they are more terrible than my soldiers, because my wife will chase you to revenge me, and believe that in order to find you, she will kill all the people related to you, and in order to revenge me, she can chase you to the end of the world, and she will kill all your relatives before you die."

Connie's breathing became rapid. She didn't expect that this person would dare to threaten her at this time, but because of this, she had to consider whether what he said was the truth.

The two fell into silence, and after watching for a while, Connie O seemed to shake his head.

"I don't believe you," the woman said coldly. "You will tell Caesar everything. It's too dangerous for me, and you dare not kill me here because you don't know what will happen next."

Alexander smiled bitterly in his heart, he knew that this woman was right. Now neither of them dared to believe each other easily, but they did not dare to act rashly.

At this moment, Alexander suddenly felt a light vibration from his body close to the stone at the entrance of the cave. He immediately pressed the sword forward, pressed it tightly against Connie O's neck, and at the same time pressed his ear against the stone and listened carefully.

A mess of steps from far to near.

Alexander soon heard that the sound was coming towards the mine, which made his heart nervous.

"Are you scared?" Connie Ou whispered, as if afraid of irritating Alexander. "Don't worry, I won't do anything to you, but you have to listen to me. You should thank me. I did deal with you like you guessed before, but now I have changed my mind, maybe we can cooperate."

"oh?"

"We may not be enemies," Connie Ou also listened carefully to the outside sound. "I can let you go, but you can't ruin my affairs. Don't think I'm afraid of your threat. Now it's my person outside."

Looking at the blurry outlines of Connie Ou hidden in the darkness, Alexander wondered how much of her words were true.

However, it was obvious that the people outside did not give him much time to think about it. Suddenly, an urgent shout rang out of the mine cave: "Guard the mine cave!"

Then a larger roar came from a distance.

"I think that should be mine," Alexander had already vaguely heard the familiar Bohemian whistle, and the sound of the light cavalry's unique horse hooves hitting the ground quickly like a whirlwind. "It seems that your abacus is not done well."

Listening to Alexander's sarcastic words, Connie O felt that it was fortunate that he would not see his ugly face.

"We have to make a decision, otherwise the people outside will fight," Alexander listened to the movement outside, while Connie Ou said. "Whether you believe it or not, I don't want to care about your business, so I can forgive you for trying to harm me, but you must promise me not to let Columbo's death be related to me. As for how you want to instigate the fight between Bogia and Sforza, I don't care, otherwise I will announce all your tricks, and I believe someone must be angry at your failure."

Connie Ou was silent for a moment and finally let out a "hmm".

"I promise you, but you must promise me that I will never tell you what I am today, otherwise I will make you a common enemy between Rome and Milan."

After Connie Ou finished speaking, he began to shout outside by the crack of the blocked stone.

Her screams did not attract attention at first. With the roars of war horses coming, it was obvious that both sides outside had already handed over.

"It's a pity that there are no muskets." Alexander pushed Connie Ou away, bent down and groped on the ground. When he touched a stone, he immediately grabbed it and smashed it hard at the blocked stone at the entrance of the hole.

One, two times, when Alexander's arm was already numb, he first heard a shout from outside: "Wait a minute, there is movement inside!"

Then, a young voice shouted anxiously: "Miss Connie Ou is you, are you in there?"

"Julian, come and save me quickly!" Connie O shouted loudly at the entrance of the cave, but then her voice was covered.

"Miss, what's wrong with you? Are you okay?"

The young man outside became nervous in an instant, but what made him even more nervous was the man's voice coming from the hole: "Tell you guys to stop immediately, otherwise I will kill your mistress."

"You dare!"

The boy outside was stunned at first, then shouted.

"If you dare to hurt Miss Connie Ou, I guarantee that your family will suffer!"

"What a coincidence, I just said this to your lady," Alexander's laughter came from the mine, and then his voice became low. "Let your people stop immediately, I can guarantee that your lady will be fine, otherwise you will only see the dead Connie O Malindao."

There was a silence outside first, then there was a shout from near to far, as if he couldn't stop running: "Stop and stop hitting me! Miss is in the hands of that Gongbray!"

There were sounds of excavation coming from outside the mine, and the two people inside looked at each other very close.

The gap gradually grew bigger, and the light poured in shone on Connie O's face. She raised her hand and blocked her eyes unaccustomedly.

The light also shone on her body, which was only half-piece in her inner skirt, and her two smooth thighs looked extremely slender under the light.

"Give me some clothes first," Connie O's words to the boy who had reached in half his head, "and those who told us retreated a little further."

"But Miss..."

The boy named Julian wanted to say something, but Connie Ou stopped him.

Several men's clothes were thrown into the hole, and Carlo's shouting was followed by the clothes: "Sir, are you okay?"

"fine."

Alexander responded. After he put on his thick wool coat, he realized that his feet were beginning to become hot and arduous.

He knew it was frostbite.

When the blocked mine finally opened, Alexander saw Carlo and Busako standing at the entrance of the cave.

To his surprise, Connie O's people were indeed far away from the mine as she ordered.

Seeing them, Alexander was stunned.

Although no one made a sound, somehow, Alexander knew their origin when he saw them at first sight.
