Chapter 41 The Earl's Tailwalkers

After a few people walked into the apartment, the first thing that caught their eye was a short and narrow corridor. Perhaps because of the age, it would squeak on the wooden floor, which really made people feel creepy at night.

"Be careful," said Sherlock Holmes to the others, "Don't bother Mrs. Hudson, the landlord, she is on the third floor. If she knew that I had served so many guests at once, I wonder if I would be angry again."

The few people also nodded, indicating that they would pay attention, and then followed Sherlock Holmes up the stairs on the back and went straight to the second floor.

After pushing open a door on the second floor, Holmes lit a gas lamp, everyone entered the legendary famous study together.

The entire study room is not large, and the wall cloths around it are dark red, giving people a gloomy and melancholy feeling. There are two chairs in front of the fireplace next to it, and on the chair are a deer hunting hat of Sherlock Holmes and his cherished cherry wood pipe.

There is also a Persian slipper on the shelf of the fireplace. The slipper is filled with tobacco, and many letters are stacked aside, pierced by a folding knife, and a violin is placed in the corner. Judging from the use, this violin should have disturbed many people's dreams at night.

A small desk was filled with various flasks and potions. There were still many blackboards left on the table, which may be corroded by strong acids or other dangerous reagents. A large number of opened notebooks were spread out on the desk, and the sloppy handwriting of the note owner could be seen.

"Please feel free, but there are no other seats in this room." Sherlock Holmes sat on the backrest chair next to the fireplace. He picked up the cherry wood pipe, squeezed out a handful of tobacco from the Persian slippers beside him and filled it into the pipe. Then he cut a match to light the tobacco, leaned on the chair and took a deep breath, then spit out a trace of white smoke.

"Sherlock!" Watson frowned when he saw Sherlock smoking, "It's not good for the health of smoking so late."

"Don't worry, dear Dr. Watson," said Holmes with a smile. "Since I've quit cocaine after you've heard your advice, let me keep a little hobby."

Then Holmes asked the others in the team: "First, please ask me a small question. Have you heard of the 'ghost'?"

"Ghost?" Everyone was puzzled, and Ma Shuangcheng replied, "Are you talking about ghosts, Mr. Sherlock Holmes."

"Very well, at least it made me realize that the few people were not lying. It seems that we can continue to talk about the topic of 'vampire'." Sherlock Holmes observed the expressions of the people and confirmed that they had nothing to do with the so-called "ghost", and then began to say, "Then if I guess correctly, the people are looking for the Romanian piercing man now."

"How did you see that we were looking for Dracula?" Ma Shuangcheng was a little puzzled.

"Now the entire underground world of London knows that the legendary vampire has stepped into the land of England." Holmes said while smoking a cigarette, looking at the firelight in the fireplace beside him, "After leaving his legendary incredible and powerful castle, the mysterious forces of Europe, whether they are the witch hunters, the church or the dark wizards, all looked at him. They all regarded the piercing master's action of leaving his demon city as the best opportunity. When the legendary vampire came to London alone, they couldn't help but want to take this opportunity to get rid of the nightmare that had covered the entire European land for four hundred years."

Then Holmes looked at the team again: "It is easy to see from you that there are certain auras and characteristics other than mortals. Does the extraordinary people who came to England at this time have any other purpose besides coming for the piercing public?"

"...Yes, we did come for Dracula." Ma Shuangcheng nodded. This is indeed the reason why Sherlock Holmes' outstanding observation skills, "But I still want to ask if the relationship between Jack the Ripper and Dracula?"

"I believe there is not much relationship between the two. Although they are all done by vampires, there is a very different difference between vampires." Sherlock Holmes took another sip of the pipe in his hand and said, "This is what the 'ghost' I mentioned earlier."

"'Ghost'...is the code name of an organization or individual." Chu Yuan suddenly spoke at this time, as if he wanted to express that he still had some analytical skills.

"That's right... In fact, those who follow Dracula are more troublesome to London than Dracula." Sherlock Holmes exhaled a long smoke, then gently knocked the pipe in his hand towards the fireplace, shaking out the ashes inside. "For so many years, I have been chasing the biggest enemy in my life... The leader of the 'ghost', Professor Moriarty. He is a genius, a person with real talent. Unfortunately, when he is naturally eager for chaos and disaster, and his talent makes his danger even more terrible. In my investigation of him, I can know that Dracula's power and danger have obviously attracted him. A creature like vampire... strictly speaking, it is the greatest curse for the anti-Christians to commit sins, except for God's punishment and suffering from disasters.

The virginity, vampires, have no other means of reproduction. And Professor Moriarty... All the clues I have point to a terrible fact. He is creating a vampire... a monster not a punishment from God, but an artificially made. In London, almost half of the crimes can be involved in this professor, and Jack the Ripper's crime made me convinced this. The "ghost" is also looking for Dracula. I believe that Moriarty will never be satisfied with the current situation. He will definitely think about creating a truly perfect and powerful vampire, not the so-called non-death spirit, but a terrifying demon against Christ. In order to do this, he must control Dracula in his own hands, thereby analyzing what a truly perfect vampire should exist."

"Can vampires still be artificially created?" Everyone was surprised. They didn't expect this at all.

"There is not only Count Dracula in this world, but also a vampire." Sherlock Holmes said, "This powerful undead creature that feeds on human blood existed when humans had historical records. Fearing light will be injured by silver, and the cross will cause them to lose their ability to move. There are also countless witch hunters hunting these undead spirits. As long as these witch hunters have enough props and training, they can be enough to fight against those vampires, such as Mr. Abraham Lincoln of the United States. Of course, I can also be considered one. But Count Dracula is different. Rather than saying that he is a non-dead spirit, he is the enemy of God, the monarch of hell, and a great demon who is truly in the world. Vampires like the former can indeed be created by humans through various means, but the latter... I really doubt whether humans can have such power. But no one can imagine Professor Moriarty's madness..."

"It's crazy..." Ma Shuangcheng and Linn's eyes couldn't help but turn to Zhu Jue on the side.

"...Why do you look at me?" Zhu Jue, who began to fiddle with the potions on Holmes' desk, couldn't help but complain. He was holding a bottle of potions in brown glass in his hand. He also tasted the potions with his mouth, and then frowned, "Tsk, there is no smell at all, what..."

"Your attention is good." Sherlock Holmes nodded at Zhu Jue, "This is a silver nitrate solution, which is quite effective against ordinary vampires or ghouls."

"Be careful to drink you to death!" Linn couldn't help but complain.

"Then I'm not polite." Zhu Jue directly put away the bottle of silver nitrate solution, and then he said to Sherlock Holmes, "Mr. Holmes, after saying so much, you don't seem to have talked about the most important thing."

"It seems that I'm a little bit long-winded." Sherlock Holmes chuckled, and then said, "Then about the connection between the two..."
