Chapter 7 Magneto Arrives

When Magneto Eric Lanthel learned of Charles' death, he couldn't believe it was true. He rushed to Xavier Genius School in New York as fast as possible.

When he walked into the mourning hall and saw the familiar person lying quietly in the coffin, Eric was filled with mixed feelings and stood in a daze.

As an elderly man, Eric knew that he and Charles would never come too late. When he felt that he was in poor energy and physical strength, he seemed to hear the sound of death approaching footsteps.

He had imagined that his death must have been a heroic death in a fierce war under the siege of countless powerful enemies.

He once mocked Charles, saying that a childish pacifist like him would definitely die in the hospital bed. He never thought that a man who had been entangled with him for a lifetime would actually die of illness at the head of the bed, leaving him alone in this world full of malicious intentions.

Magneto walked slowly over, came to his old friend's coffin, and stretched out his hand to his old friend's cheek.

Cold, dry, stiff, inelastic...

Tears blurred their vision, and fragments passed by him, remembering the fact that they had lying on the hillside of Xavier Manor when they were young and talked about their ambitions, remembering their disputes over their disagreement, remembering their rebellion during the Cuban missile crisis, and the repeated open and secret struggles between the Brotherhood of the Mutant and the X-Men.

The past is so hard to look back on.

Magneto was full of tears, and the deep sense of loneliness enveloped him, as if there were no relatives or people who understood him in this world.

The magic-shaped girl Riven had been crying for a long time, leaning beside the coffin and muttering to Charles' name.

The old and weak Magneto was too sad and could no longer hold on. His body shook slightly. At this time, one hand reached over, wrapped around his waist, and helped him up.

"Eric, take care of yourself and don't be too sad."

The pleasant girl's voice sounded in his ears, and Magneto was in a daze for a moment, as if he heard his old friend Charles comforting him in his ear.

He quickly turned his head and saw that the one who was supporting him was a well-behaved, quiet and cute girl.

The girl smiled, and a healing power emanated from her smile, which actually soothed the sadness and loneliness that surged in Magneto's heart.

In an instant, Magneto felt his heart throbbing. This feeling had been gone for a long time. It had been decades since Magda Essenhard left him. He thought his heart had become deserted and turned into ashes.

He never expected that he, who was already old, would fall in love with a young and beautiful girl.

There was a sense of familiarity in this kind of throbbing of the soul. When I saw her, I felt extremely intimate, just as if the girl in front of me had been entangled with him in his previous life and was destined to be in this life.

Is this just love at first sight?

Magneto felt a mixture of sorrow and pain in his heart.

He is about to die, and she is underage...

Somehow, a Chinese poem I once read flashed through my mind: "I have not been born, but I have grown old. I have turned into a butterfly to look for flowers and live in fragrant grass every night."

I wish I could meet before I was old!

What a helplessness this is!

Thousands of tastes and sorrows turned into a sigh.

well……

After a closer look, the girl's eyebrows looked very similar to Charles when she was young. Magneto suddenly realized why she felt so close when she saw her at first sight.

If you look closely, the girl's temperament is exactly the same as that of an old friend. She is like a mold carved from him. Her calm and peaceful expression and the spring breeze are no wonder that it makes people feel so familiar.

She must be Charles' orphan?

Magneto is a serious and cruel person. Even within the Mutant Brotherhood, many members are a little afraid of him.

Especially his stern look is enough to make the person facing him feel like he is falling into an ice cellar and is full of chill.

Such a cute little girl, Magneto, couldn't stand her face. He smiled and showed a very rare kind and loving smile.

I'm afraid that his own son, Xiao Yin, daughter, the Red Witch, has never seen such a gentle Magneto.

"Thank you." Magneto said softly: "Little girl, what's your name?"

"check……"

The sweet girl forced herself to change her mouth in embarrassment: "Elizabeth...Elizabeth Xavier."

"Who is Charles?"

"He is my distant uncle."

"oh……"

Magneto nodded slowly. He judged that it was probably an old friend who lied to her. The girl must be Charles' illegitimate daughter, otherwise she would not be so similar.

The old man with white hair touched the girl's hair in a doting way. It turned out that she was Charles' daughter, which made him no longer feel that there were no relatives in the world, and that feeling of despair slowly dissipated.

"Your uncle is my good friend, he is a good person. I wanted to go on stage to say a few words after the condolence ceremony, but when I saw you, I felt that it was unnecessary. The feeling you gave me is like a granddaughter."

In a Western-style funeral, the key link is that the deceased's relatives and friends who lived there came to the stage to tell his life one by one to remember him.

When the girl heard this, her pretty face was frosted and said unhappily: "I am not like your granddaughter! Even if Charles is my uncle, you can't say that!"

Magneto was stunned by the sudden angry girl, and he pushed his hand helplessly to comfort her: "Okay okay, okay, pretend I haven't said it."

He sighed and then asked, "Are you a mutant?"

The girl nodded.

Magneto persuaded her seriously: "Then come with me. This school will be destroyed sooner or later if it loses Charles's shelter. It is too dangerous for you to stay here."

"No, Eric, Xavier Talent School will not be destroyed."

The girl looked solemn and said seriously: "The second generation of X-Men will carry my...uncle's flag, and they will eventually grow up and stand on their own."

The powerful aura emitted by the girl actually made Magneto secretly shocked, and he even ignored the slightest disrespect of her name.

Lao Wan praised in his heart, he is really a tiger father without a dog!

The more Magneto looks at her, the more she appreciates and loves her. She really wants to bring her around and train her carefully, let her take over her and become the next leader of the Mutant Brotherhood.

But he was unwilling to force her, and could not bear to force her, just like a grandfather who was obedient to his granddaughter, and could only shake his head helplessly.

"As stubborn as your father...uncle!"

Magneto sighed and no longer insisted. He had made a decision in his heart that once the government attacked the mutant school, he would come immediately. Even if he could not resist the fierce attack from the military, he would save his life to rescue her.

Magneto slowly took off his spiritual defense helmet. He has worn this helmet for almost his whole life, just because that old friend is still alive.

Now that this old friend has passed away, there is no need to wear this helmet.

Putting the helmet into Charles' coffin was a gift he had given to him. Magneto believed that he would go with him in a short while, so let this helmet accompany him for a while.

Putting down his helmet, Magneto said goodbye to the girl who claimed to be Elizabeth, and turned reluctantly to lead the members of the Mutant Brotherhood to leave.

"Please stay, Mr. Lanthel."

But he was called away and an Asian young man came over.

When he came to him, the Asian young man smiled and stretched out his hand: "Hello, I am Luo Feng, Director of SHIELD."

Magneto's face suddenly became gloomy, and the government's lackey's head appeared blatantly at Charles' funeral, and he dared to say hello to him so far.
