Chapter 536 The Disappearing Buddha
When Guo Dalu first arrived at the sea of suffering, he kept singing the Buddhist verse on the streets in his heart: "The sea of suffering is boundless, and looking back is the shore."
But he did not associate this sentence with the spirit child who crossed the sea of suffering, especially after experiencing so many myths and legends, he simply threw this sentence out of the sky.
After experiencing so many thrilling obstacles, what a person is thinking in his mind must be what the next step is and where the next step is to go. This is human nature and thinking inertia.
For example, when you have experienced many hardships, overcome the dense thorns, and overcome the three disasters and risks, and see that the opportunity to break through the realm is right in front of you, why don’t you want to go further?
The cultivation world says: "If you are nine miles a mountain, you will lose all your efforts." It is about perseverance. Therefore, when Guo Dalu first broke through to the island and was only one last step away from being able to land on the island, he raised his foot without hesitation.
However, the truth is that he still missed the last step.
For ordinary people, this ending is like experiencing a hurricane and finally capsize in a gutter. No matter what kind of mentality, you have to do it again. Be sure to make zero mistakes and take the last step, otherwise you will be sorry for all your previous efforts.
In fact, Guo Dalu and Tang Sanzang did the same. They set out from the starting point again, walked along the original path, and crossed the sea of suffering again.
This time, they not only had the task of finding Buddha, but also had the obsession with the "missing a step". Therefore, compared to the first time, their will to arrive on the other side was more urgent and strong.
According to normal logic, once they successfully break the barrier and come to the front of the island, the first thing they have to do is hold their breath, calculate the distance, stabilize their feet, and strive to step onto the island in one step, so as to avenge their previous shame.
However, when Guo Dalu came here after the second "torture" of the mirage, he resolutely chose to retreat.
This is not a wise decision, and it does not conform to the principle of "no matters but three". Guo Dalu is even more unable to determine whether the first "study" is a mistake or a "setting". He also cannot guarantee whether this retreat will enter those mythological illusions again... He made a natural choice based on his own feelings, just like he did every time he faced a major pass.
The Taoist ancestor said this: "The old Taoist acts in his life, paying attention to naturalness and following the trend."
This is true for Guo Dalu, of course he is like this.
Fortunately, the result is not bad. The serial mythological illusion is not the real barrier to surviving the sea of suffering, but "turning back".
He climbed to the island and greeted the shady monk in white.
The white-clothed shami said, "Thank you for your hard work, donor Guo."
Guo Dalu shook his head, then looked at the shaman in white, and asked straight to the point: "Master, are you the reincarnated spiritual child of Buddha Tathagata?"
Unexpectedly, the white-clothed monk was stunned for a moment, then folded his hands together and said, "Amitabha, don't joke."
When Guo Dalu heard this, he was also stunned for a moment, because he could clearly realize that this little novice monk was indeed not a reincarnated spiritual child of the Buddha without asking questions.
"Who are you, little master?"
"Little Monk Yingran, practice on this Kongkong Island."
"Oh, then who else is on this island?"
"There is also the little monk's master, Zen Master Haici. However, his master has been traveling on the island for several years, so there is only one little monk on the island now."
"I'm sure you are the only one?" Guo Dalu asked.
"Mencius does not lie. If the donor does not believe it, even if he searches the island, if he finds a second person, he can pull out the monk's tongue and throw it into the sea."
Guo Dalu: "..."
"Since you are the only one on this island, when I landed on the island just now, why did you pretend to say deeply, "The sea of suffering is boundless, and it is the shore" and "Donor, you are here," and it seems like you are waiting for me here."
Yingran grabbed the back of his head and said a little embarrassedly: "This Kongkong Island is located in the sea of suffering, so the guests who can reach the island can be said to be turning back and shore. As for the words behind it, it was ordered by the master before leaving."
"You mean, Master told you to wait for me here?"
The little novice nodded quickly, "That's right."
Guo Dalu asked again: "Then do you have any other words to explain?"
The little novice shook his head.
Guo Dalu frowned, vaguely feeling something was wrong, but if he left, he felt unwilling to give up. He intuitively could not leave this empty island for the time being, because what he wanted was on this island.
The little novice monk in white introduced Guo Dalu into a simple and clean temple, invited him to sit down, and made tea for him.
"Master said that Donor Guo is proficient in the various schools of thought outside of Buddhism, so if you have any questions, you can ask for advice." The little novice monk in white looked at Guo Dalu modestly, with a sincere tone.
Guo Dalu felt aroused in his heart, remembering that Buddhism likes to play the game in conversation, and then accidentally reveals the secret meaning, so he said kindly: "Young master, it's okay to ask."
The little novice monk was indeed not polite and began to ask Guo Dalu for advice. The questions he asked were not so complicated and profound, but very scattered. He said one by one, and there was no point in the other. He would just add a sentence when Guo Dalu explained to the end: "There is also an explanation for this in the Buddhist scriptures..."
In the eyes of the monks in white, Buddhist scriptures cover all kinds of things and cover the teachings of hundreds of schools of thought, which can be said to be very pious.
The two were doing aimless questions and answers, and the little shaki suddenly stood up and said, "The second guest has arrived, too."
Guo Dalu also stood up and said, "Go and take a look."
The second guest is naturally the Merit Buddha Jinchanzi Tang Sanzang.
After stepping on the air, Tang Sanzang also woke up and immediately understood the truth of "turning back is the shore". However, he did not return the same way as Guo Dalu, but instead retreated directly at the starting point, and successfully found this small island and arrived at the other shore smoothly.
Sometimes the truth that you talk about is the easiest to ignore.
After Tang Sanzang landed on the island, he exchanged greetings and polite words. When he was sure that the shaman in white was not a spiritual child and there was no one else on the island, he was also very surprised. He exchanged glances with Guo Dalu, as if he was confused.
The two quietly released their divine thoughts, searched the Kongkong Island, and found that the island was as its name, and it was indeed empty.
After so much trouble, the result was a bit frustrating, but out of the only unwillingness in my heart, the two of them stayed with the novice monk on the island for a day and a night, and the result was...
Completely confirm that the spirit boy is not here.
The next day, the two left. Before leaving, Guo Dalu asked the shaman in white: "I ordered my master to go out and travel. Have you ever said where to go?"
The shaman in white said, "Here."
Guo Dalu smiled and nodded, "Okay." He didn't ask any more questions.
Unexpectedly, the white-clothed Sha Mi added: "The master also said that this place is that place, and the sky is in front of you."
Guo Dalu has no intention of attacking such a maneuver now and said, "Oh, yeah, say it..."
Speaking of this, he suddenly stopped his mouth, a flash of lightning struck in his heart, and suddenly turned his head and looked at Tang Sanzang.
Tang Sanzang happened to turn his head to look at him at this time.
If you cross the sea of suffering and reach the other shore, you will see the spiritual child.
This is clearly stated in the Buddha's verse.
At this time, both of them arrived at the other side and climbed up to Kongkong Island, but did not find the spirit child on the island. Could it be that the Buddha was lying?
This is absolutely impossible.
Because the Buddha never said nothing.
In this way, the answer becomes subtle.
