The purpose of Chu State's failure to perform Zhou rituals is to remove the redundancy in Zhou rituals so that the people of Chu can return to the right path. Since this is the case, why not start with yourself? If you are not even as good as Confucius, whom you have always looked down upon, how can you take the people of Chu to return to the right path?
